Also- I love how different your cages are from other youtuber or social media influencers. They're not typical but I enjoy that! Keep up the good work!
Something that I've made before is tissue paper mache leaves. You use tissue and some water (color optional) and use some fake leaves (or real ones if you have interesting ones like broccoli or rhubarb) to take molds of with the mache. Then you can paint them however you like and decorate at whim It also is fun to get some aggression out by using a paint brush to stab the tissue down into details
I love seeing how you set up your enclosures, you always have such creative ideas. And I totally get the stress of having multiple projects going on at once, it can be so nerve racking! I'd love to see another project using sphagnum moss or something similar that adds texture to an enclosure.
I'd love to see something festive for your pets to enjoy. My dog LOVES presents and wants everyone to allow him to open theirs even though I make sure he has his own to open.
been watching this channel for 7 years and have had 10 hamsters in that time, im so glad to see how far you have come since then. thank you for the videos and indirectly for my hamsters :)
Hi Ollie, I hope you are well. The stop-animation bit inthe end was so well done! Maybe not a particular great suggestion but could you perhaps do something like making fake- greenery, plants and other natural looking things. I do not have a hamster (yet), but I worry for accidentally killing a plant. I know in previous cages you had some live plants though, and talked about more specifically which one was safe. But what about some other greenery- like the little pop of color though the ripped tissue paper. Have a nice end of the year, I hope you feeling better now you have been openly on the road of being yourself. Keep on being awesome!
I love that idea! I'll definitely put that on the DIY list, I think I can figure out a few easy-enough ideas for safe fake plants and greenery. Thank you! 😊

Sooo cute. My Syrian Ember is getting an old girl now, but I have you (and some other) RUclipsrs to thank for educating me on proper hamster care. She's so happy and so sweet natured; I rescued her and she's been an angel companion. Now she's 1.5 years, I worry about losing her but I'm glad to know I've given her such a good life. Lemonade is adorable despite her being a ghost hamster lol, love the videos
Ahh I always love watching your videos! I’ve been watching your videos for 6 years now and I’m always so excited when you post a new one. My parents never let me have pets when I was younger, nothing more than a fish. But I always wanted a hamster, so I did as much research as I could to prove to them I knew how to take care of one. I watched so many of your videos for advice, and they finally let me get one ❤️Sadly she passed since then (my hammie) but when I have more space in my house, I plan to get another little friend 😊
Thank you for watching for so long, that's amazing! 💕 Also, thank you for sharing your hammie story with me, I'm so glad you finally got to have one of your own and I hope you get to have another one very soon! 😊
My hamster passed a few years ago due to a tumor and I've finally started watching you again and love your videos! I reccomended your channel to my friend who is getting a hamster soon and I'm glad she'll have good information about hamster care to follow :D Thank you for being an amazing hamster parent and sharing proper hamster care
I like naturalistic hamster cage best but this is actually a very beautiful cage! So mahy places & things to explore! Many hamster owners think they dont like to climb on things & I feel like that's why we dont often see wrap around ledges or bridges or even hammocks in hamster cages but I find that not to be true. My ham loves to climb on the branches & hides I provide for him. I would like to build a wrap around ledge but still trying to decide how to execute it. You gave me some good ideas!
Smell 😂 Lemonade is pretty fussy about where she goes to the toilet, she has two designated areas and doesn't seem to go anywhere else, so the forage box should stay clean for a long time and gets topped up with foraging food every 3-4 days 😊
I love your videos and I love your skates also! I have been watching for awhile now. Maybe four years. I was wondering if you can do a video on what you feed lemonade? Or maybe a Christmas theme treat boredom breaker that is suitable for both Syrians and dwarves.
Hi! A forage box can be any sized container filled with textured substrate and materials, and with healthy snacks hidden throughout. It provides sensory and 'hunting' enrichment for the hamsters and encourages them to use their sense of smell to find the food. Forage boxes can be used in conjunction with food bowls, or instead of food bowls. Some people also prefer to just scatter the hamsters food around the entire enclosure. Lemonade's forage box if filled with coco fibre (you can find dehydrated blocks of coco fibre in the reptile section of most pet shops) and topped with a shallow layer of dried flowers and leaves that are all safe to be eaten by hamsters (you can find dried flowers from online hamster stores that specialise in natural supplies). Lemonade is fed from both a bowl and a forage box to help monitor her eating habits, and I usually put dried insects in the forage box as those are a high value food for her so she will spend more time hunting them out. The more time a hamster spends foraging, the more enrichment they are receiving from the activity :)
@@SomethingAnimal Ty so much for your reply back 😁 I absolutely love this idea. I’m learning so much from your videos on how to make my hamster (Mr. Hammy) even more happier. Thank you 🍄🌸🐹 God bless 🙏
I see you like chemistry, but does that extend to biochemistry? If yes: 1. How about a double helix staircase (optionally built with ball and stick model) and indicate the hydrogen bonds as the staircase rungs. 2. Make a faux size-exclusion chromatography tube, which you add 2 different size treats to, which functions as a slow treat feeder as the smaller sized treats slowly makes their way to the bottom via agitation to the tube by a sniffing and paws. (May provide for more view time of Hammy) 3. I think you know where I'm headed with this... a full on Hamster chemistry lab! 🐹🥼🧪🔬
Can you do a "what if" video featuring mice? What would you enjoy providing for a mouse? What would you do with a very large group of females? I have 4 females now and just sent in an application to a rescue for 6 more. The largest group I've ever kept was 7 in 1 cage and an 8th separate (cuz she was a butt). I'm excited, but also very nervous. I'm (and by I, I obviously mean my husband) is building me a big triple layer cage that totals up to about 120 gallons. I'm purchasing all brand new toys which will hopefully include multiple puzzle playgrounds if I can find them anywhere. Those are my very favorite mouse toy/hide thingy. The idea is to have everything new so the girls won't argue. In my experience, intros go best when starting with a brand new cage or an extremely thorough clean out and all brand new stuff. Anywho, your advice is welcome and treasured! I understand all too well the pain of losing a beloved pet. People don't understand how loving and loyal mice are. My heart hurt for you when your boys passed so quickly. That said, you helped more mice than you realize with your mouse content.
I think Emiology could be a much better source for this stuff, she has so much experience with mice and especially with large groups of females (and her content is so enjoyable to watch). I'm still a beginner when it comes to mice so I don't really give out care info on them, and I have zero experience with female mice or groups so I wouldn't be helpful when it comes to those topics. Plus I don't have any mice at all right now and probably won't for a couple more years. Definitely check out Emi's channel though, I think you'll love it! 😊
Aww I'm sorry! I was hoping I would get to film her but she didn't come out to explore until the early hours of the morning and I didn't have a camera with me 😖 I did get some footage of her before the redesign though so you'll see her cute face in a couple of days 😁
Haha, I see your FunShroom of honor up there on the shelf, in all its HONEST IT IS A MUSHROOM glory. What were you doing to the floor? Is that one of those upcoming video things, or did I miss it on Instagram?
Not sure you'll do it as I remember before you said that hamster videos get all the views, but please can we have some dog videos! My two now have a den under my bed as it's about 30cm off the ground and they're small, and I'd love some dog diys or just general doggy content/ vlogs. But whatever you do I'll come watch, I don't own hamsters anymore and doubt I will again as for me the work involved isn't worth the payout like it is with my dogs (my dogs actually feel like less work than a hamster!), but I'm here for your personality as you're awesome!
I love watching all your videos even your few that are not on hamster stuff! I believe a lot of people that have hamsters also have cats and dogs like you. So I was thinking maybe videos on stuff for your other pets. A cat scratcher maybe a pet bed cat toys even a video on you cooking treats for your dog.(Then we could all see how well your oven is still working!) honestly for me to watch it doesn't need to have pet related content it could be a video on you decorating for the holidays or a diy video for something you are making for yourself. I would really love to see a holiday decorating video pet related or not!

Haha yeah it was a big impulse painting project we did back in Spring 2021, I was going to renew it for a different colour palette this year but Dan has strictly forbidden painting over it until we have to move out 😂
Haha no he really does love it that much. He doesn't mind living among half-finished projects, it's been for almost half his life so he's very used to it 😂
@SomethingAnimal well I am glad! I am dealing with my 7 year old cat attacking my younger male cat (he turned 3 in the new year) lately. They have been living together for like 3 years. Sigh. Oh well.
@joyfulkitty8910 If your older cat's behavior changed as suddenly as it seems you should definitely take them to the vet just in case. It could be something simple just making them irritated like a splinter or could be something much more deadly like cancer in which case catching it early can save your cat's life. Feel free to ignore the complete stranger on the Internet giving pet advice.
How great would it be if you had lots of money, and could start a business where you could spend all your time trying out your new ideas for pet toys\enclosures\whatever you like. Then you either approve them to go on to be made by other people, or scrap them to never be thought of again. So you never had to make anything more than one time. Or would that suck for you? Lol just a thought
I want to get one at some point so I can see more of her, but the cheapest one I can find locally with night vision is €50 which is way out of my budget right now, but hopefully sometime next year! 😊
Everything in the cage (including the cage itself) is DIY'd, which is by far the most affordable way to give your hamster a great home. You don't have to make it all at once either! I don't have much disposable income (often less than 30euro a month) so I just buy materials a little at a time until I have enough to build something, it takes longer but it's absolutely doable even on a tight budget :)

Amazing cage! How do you attach the items to the wall? What did you drill in?
I just used normal screws, each shelf has a bracket underneath that the screw goes through and fixes directly into the wall of the cage 😊
