- My first flight with my new Bell 430 from Heli-Factory on a Flight Field near Lindlar in Germany. The Turbine is a JetCat PHT3-XL. The second movie shows the helicopter in full action. So please don't blame the hovering here as this is a "real" first flight. Please visit us at heli.lu for more pictures or at heli-factory.com if you want to order yours.
A beautiful piece of work, flown by a skillful and prudent pilot. Just wonderful! Heli technology has come so far in the last 40 years, and those little turbines are just the cat's whiskers! I don't fly any more, can't afford it these days, but I try to keep abreast of what the guys (and girls) are doing. Thanks for a visual treat... xo
Absolutely stunning! That has got to be the most beautiful R/C Heli I have ever seen.
That's a beautiful aircraft. If that's the first real flight it was pretty good! A chap I knew in Australia, a trained helicopter pilot, had a large RC model that he flew just once and said he would never do it again, as it scared the life out of him!
Most real life pilots make shitty RC pilots lol.
Large RC model sounds expensive, I'd be nervous too.
Sehr sehr schönes Modell und für den ersten Flug sehr gut geflogen. Ist das schönste Heli-Modell, das ich je gesehen hab.
Wondering how you could possibly get 1400 thumbs down on this!
It looks likea very nice built aircraft and that a first flight is not going to be exiting is all but to be expected.
Hell, you do NOT want any excitement on a maiden flight :-)
+Peter Rafeiner Ignorance is bliss
Those giving the thumbs down reveal themselves to be ignorant of that...
FINALLY!!! Usually you see these beautifully made scale RC versions of real life helicopters, and with just 2 blades on the main rotor, which just totally kills the model!! It's great to see someone that actually looked into that detail!!
This kinda reminds me of my first motorcycle ride, I wussed out and didn't go out on the road

the start up is the best bit! So want one of them!
Sounds like Airwolf starting up!
yes xDDD
yjnnn
God that was my show when I was a kid
I'm so impressed by the larger scale models and thier pilots. The vehicles looks so real and the pilots work that RC contoller like champs!
Dear Santa... ;-)
Excellent maiden flight. Checking controls, taking no risks with either the machine or the people. The pilot did exactly what he was supposed to do. Outstanding first flight with a superior helo and pilot.
Muito top gostei eu aprovo
thank you for not putting music over the sound of the model. that was great!
and the worlds most boring pilot award goes too............
It's the maiden flight. You have to appreciate the fact that the first flight is just about being happy to get it flying and safely land again. Not flying around like a stunt pilot.
stressball g
Come on it was only is first test flight
Goddamn it's his first flight!!! don't you think he's gotta feel it out first?
p
Nice!!! My brother is living in Luxembourg. (Chris Maes. Ex-General Director from Mobilux) I love you're country very much!
That's an amazing looking model, I can't imagine the nerves you must have felt taking off for the first time with that monster. The funds tied up in it alone would have made it tempting just to put it in the garage and say "well, there it is, I bet it flys as good as it looks, but I ain't risking it."
My compliments, this is one of the best I have seen. ever.
Best looking helicopter hands down. I see them all the time in the DC area, especially Coast Guard models.
That is pretty much the coolest RC start up I've seen and heard. Props to you!
Thank you for acknowledging my attempt to educate those who don't know. I now acknowledge your intellegence in this matter.
That is an absolutely GORGEOUS model! Wow!! You should be very proud to own it. I envy you.
Looks AMAZING !!! Sounds SUPERB !!!
What a beauty. Great first flight
Wow! That must've been stressful seeing it lift for the first time! stunning machine.
Awesome model and great flying! Well done on both counts!
Work of art. Nice maiden flight. Thanks.
Nice hat and coat combination. It says "hey I'm relaxed, but in charge"
I was researching the engines that are manufactured by JetCat out of California for these types of RC models. The pure turbines for R/C jets run antwere from 2000.00 to high 4000.00. The one turbo prop engine is just shy of 6000.00. That's only the engine mind you. What is amazing to me is this thing sounds EXACTLY like the gas turbine powered ground generators that I worked on in the Air Force, just as loud and just the same pitch and whine.
Beautiful Model. Well Done. Thanks for sharing.
WOW what a beautiful RC. very well done.
Very nicely done.I know it had to take you a very long time to build such a beautiful machine.Thank you for sharing.
need to make your landing more stronger, great first flight, you are certainly a master at what you made there, good luck on future flights.
Very cool, sounds realistic as well
Nice landing with a light touch for your first run on that model.
A flying work of art! Thanks for posting! Beautiful machine!
Idk why but the sound it makes is really calming.
Outstanding RC Heli. Awesome! Please post another flight?
Jako lijepi helikopter,svaka cast!!!
Nice machine... stable in hover. Good work!
Except for it not being a complete black paint job, this look a lot like the helicopter from the tv show Airwolf.......that is a awesome looking copter....and I bet your really proud of it.....
Faszinierend Männer, ich bin begeistert!! tolle Leistung Bravo
Nice machine boy's. Good pilotage, especially with new gear!
That is the most bad ass RC heli i have ever seen!!!! :O
Wow that thing is absolutely beautiful. Can't imagine how much coin ya have into that sucker...awesome!
Wow! What a beautiful bird! Would like to see the thing pull up the main's in retract & transition to forward flight & left & rite bankin turns! Love the paint graphics on the bird! Love the "helo" & the video! Great Job!
Fantastic! Good job building it. Regards, Leo M., Chicago
Holy crap! This is freaking amazing.
it's 1 of the coolest things i've ever seen
Yes I understand but I want to see it in a fly by with gear up. It looks bloody awesome mate, ILOVE iT!
That is a gorgeous model!
U definitely got the right idea. speed comes later. GOOD VID.
I noticed the wind conditions, power lines in the distance undulating. This is why they probably kept nose pointed into wind, since its 1st flight. Smart. extremely nice model.
Probably 10,000 us dollars, at least.
thanks. i knew it was a different helicopter because its missing the little wings in the back but it definitely looks a lot like Airwolf.
Absolutely beautiful helicopter. I would probably look at it more than fly it.
honestly that is the coolest rc helicopter ive seen. How much did it cost?
Macine of Wonder
Well done boys!
Beautiful Video!
Gorgeous machine! Very nice!!!
Beautiful Helicopter
Nice looking helicopter. What sort of head speed are you running? BTW, having the rotors turning the proper direction is a nice touch!
Really awesome vid. After building well over 100 Rc helis now I would def rate this as one of my dream helis. Kind of the elite of the elite. Too bad it cost more than my daily driver.
That was simply remarkable,,, Great Video, Great Flight, Great Talent...
wow.... lovely remote....good control.... good job..
great vids Marc, thx for sharing..please upload in HD in future vids.
That was just fantastic! Thanks for uploading
It's looks like the real helicopter......amazing..
What a beautiful machine!
Love the art work and paint.
Airwolf..Awesome!!!
este es el helicoptero que te arrebato la vida ... nadie se podia imaginar que un simple juguete tellevaria ala murte.. fuiste un grande y todos te vamos a recordar como una gran persona y un apacionado de los potentes motores...
Dn
Nice touch with the lights. Though I'm thinking that the Bell series doesn't really seem to vary body designs that much, comparing this to the Bell 222 that was made famous in Airwolf...
este incredibil, daca mi-as permite, ascum l-as cumpara!!! cit costa asa model... e viata mea, as da orice sa fie al meu... macar unul mai mic, de inceput.... esti un fericit ca il ai...
Ad revenue from this video alone probably paid for the whole thing. Das ist super helo!!
Very cool! That's impressive that it doesn't require a ground start. Is the starter a starter generator, to recharge the starting battery and run the electrics?
My bad, I should have read the description more. I wish you luck with your new copter.
That is a pretty bird , Nice Job !
Your right. Not that i'm a RC pilot I'm not but I take every precaution. Would you happen to know flying time in minutes one of these birds can do, the amount of distance from the radio control it can go and still get reception, and the cost of one of these beauties. I'm talking about the Bell 430.
I think the turbine is connected to the main rotor driveshaft by a centerfugal clutch. As the rpm increases, the clutch begins to release the driveshaft ... (similar to a quad/4-wheeler...until at a preset level the clutch is completely disengaged and the turbine is directly connected to the driveshaft through a gear reduction system. Electricity is only needed for the servos, gyro ect...
Wonderful Modell !!!!
@TJSully716 it was the maiden flight so he wanted to make sure he could control the thing at low altitudes before doing anything "crazy" with it. He needs to make sure the helicopter does not have any bad tendencies and he probably had to trim it out which is hard to do on the bigger helicopter models.
I don't mind it, but there weren't many of the 430s made, so I guess you would have to be a big fan of that specific chopper. your model is gorgeous, by the way.
Brilliant, Congratulations
Excellent werk
Flawless! Awesome! Congratulations!
Nice sound!
This is the Bell 430, Airwolf was a modified Bell 222B. After the modifications, the pilot for the episodes said it actually flew better. You can tell the difference between the number of blades, and the width of the bodies.
Beautiful piece of machinery
wonderful model compliments are almost envious
yea it looks his trim is off, tail heavy, but just wants to brake it in and keep it in the air nice work, I'd be a bit nervous with pretty bird too
Wicked awesome. Amazing helicopter!
totally agree. So damn expensive that you can build three or four competition grade gaui X7 helicopters for the price of a single turbine engine. And those helis don't take two minutes to spool up and are capable of crazy fast 3d and AP work.
Wow! Real Sound!
It reminded me about Airwolf. My favorite old movie series.
Magnifique bravo c trop bien fait, félicitations
what a cool RC chopper!
The "Airwolf" theme music starts going off in my head anytime I watch this. :-D
When I heard the start up. A smile came over my face, with the thought of Airwolf!!! Nice someone do an Airwolf model. that would be so cool.
I didn't know 430s could do rotor brake starts...Wow pretty realistic, even the CG when lifting off. Nice work. But why do you like the 430?
Daaaaamn, that thing makes more noise than a real one !!!!
