  • First, I want to say thank you to everyone for the love I got on my crochet durags! Everyone asked for a tutorial so here's a quick and easy tutorial on how to crochet a simple durag! This pattern can be adjusted to be any length and be easily customized. This is a perfect beginner's first project because it utilizes the most basic stitches and concepts as well!
    I used one skein of size 4 (medium) yellow "I Love This Yarn!" acrylic yarn from Hobby Lobby, but many different yarn types are suitable for this pattern!
    I also used a 8 mm hook, 6 mm hook, yarn needle, and scissors.
    Please like, share, and subscribe! Be sure to tag me in y'all's recreations! I would love to see them! If you have ANY comments at all please do not be afraid to ask! Thank you for watching. 🖤

    ruclips.net/video/U9pt3zaOZaw/видео.html
    Here is the troubleshoot video!
    In the video I show in more detail (& slower) how to put the durag together. I also include how I weave in all the ends.
    It also has the durag measurements, chain count for the different durag lengths, & some more answers to a lot of the questions y’all had.
    Be sure to read the description to get the different timestamps.
    Hope this helps! 🥰🖤

    Great tutorial and super cute durag! If you increase by 1 on your even rows (row 2, row 4, etc) it’ll create a curve & you’ll be able to avoid having to sew down the flaps in the end.

    • @CustomCroshae
      @CustomCroshae 4 месяца назад +1

      So like ex row 2 do 2 dc instead of 1 in each stitch?

    • @suhreenuhhhh
      @suhreenuhhhh 4 месяца назад +34

      I think what she meant is at the start of rows 2 and 4, Chain 4 and dc in the very first stitch. That way you'll have 2 dc in the first stitch and then you continue doin mesh stitches for the remaining of the row. Row 3 will be a regular mesh stitch row with no increase. And then row 4 will be an increase row. Rows 5-10 will be regular mesh stitch rows. If you do this you won't flat to sew the flaps in the end
      That's how I did mine and it turned out fine.

    • @its_syck
      @its_syck 3 месяца назад +1

      Do you mean even rows of just the mesh stitch? Are you not counting the half double row when you say even rows? @suhreenuhhhh

    • @jeanettelarson3560

      So do you just increase rows 2

    Thank you so much for this pattern. I also have a business and I started it two years ago. And by the grace of God, I am doing my first fashion show coming up on the ninth and I just wanted to add some final touches. Your durag is a perfect addition to my line. I am doing half-and-half colors with a charm in the middle right where the colors meet. I hope it turns out good. I’ll tag you on my Facebook. 😍

    This is easy to do, but the strap part became confusing and I had to figure it out for myself. It looked like you went in the back of the chain, but you didn't say. First time I went in the back, my strap came out mangled. The second time, I rewatched and looked at the alignment of everything and realized to get that effect, I'd have to go in the right side of the chain. Laying it out flat and comparing it to what was on screen helped tremendously. It's probably easy for some verteran crocheters, but I haven't crocheted in years. My daughter, a new crocheter is having the same confusion. Thank goodness I was able to help her out.

    Hi! Okay question, when I’m working on the strap…I work all the way down the 16 spaces and then….? I got confused bc it looked like you started crotchet into the chunk with the 10 rows? Hope my question is clear 😂

      @AntisocialClub1  3 месяца назад +1

      lol yes it kinda does. You do the 16 spaces, then chain 60, turn your work, and the do the mesh stitch all the way down the chain back to the base of the durag. Hope that’s make sense!

      @@kimtaylor5383you crochet back up the strap towards the top of the project. Once you get to where the strap and previous rows meet, keep going like you normally would. Ch 1 and put a dc in the next open mesh space. I hope this help😁

      No but you can! I know a lot of people told me they have. I iron mine by putting a shirt on top so it doesn’t burn the yarn. I didn’t include it in the video because I don’t wanna be responsible for any mess ups and house fires 💀
