Sideswipe players have gotten insane though lol. Theirs a lot of us that’s still grinding since day one. Tournament coming back is going to bring a lot more players back. Hopefully they keep them going. Since that’s why a lot stopped. I think it’s going to be lit fs. Progress and big W all around for the whole tournament
As much as I understand the criticism of Shift Summer League, it’s also so ironic that people constantly complain about not having not enough events and and not enough to watch and then when orgs organize an event it “doesn’t matter” or “is boring”. Safe way for sponsors to never want to organize an event ever again. (I know shift is now delayed indefinitely, I’m more talking theoretical/hypothetical).
Although I do agree Rumble needs updates, as someone who plays the game mode a lot, I do not want to see what other people have(or conversely, don’t want others to see what I have). While it’s not a certain thing, you can pretty accurately infer when someone has certain items based off of positioning in higher level play. Lawler brought up the idea of being able to ban certain items in a pre-game lobby similar to how certain champions are banned in other games that Rizzo plays. Understanding what your teammates have is one thing; knowing how to position based off of what your opponents could do is another.
i dunno if i buy the argument that the summer league is boring because it's just spamming the same matchups. i think it's just a disorganized viewing experience. i think i'm pretty dialed into competitive RL and i don't necessarily know what days of the week this thing is on, whose channel is for which team, etc. also org-pov streams are kinda meh for watching tournies. much prefer the watch party atmosphere.
From my perspective I love 1's but I'm gc2 in all modes but literally stuck in diamond 2 facing monsters and people who can't touch the ball off the ground. So anxiety isn't exactly my issue, but my rank does not match my skill level in 1's without like quadruple the amount of hyper focused gameplay. I literally sleep my way into gc in any other mode.
Not really “delayed”, it’s been indefinitely cancelled. Delayed would suggest it’s gonna happen no matter what, more than likely it’s not going to happen ever unless players complete it for free or like 1/10th the money the were guaranteed
