Honestly, I'm happy that Justin made an album just to talk about the love of Jesus. I know that he is not an example of a Christian, but he is going through a process. I don't care if he lives what he preaches or not, but the fact is that through his attitude of preaching the gospel, several lives will be transformed by God, and that is priceless.

I understand where you are coming from but if we have the mentality that we don’t care whether he is living a pure life or not then it’s basically saying we don’t care if he goes to heaven or hell. The Bible says we will know them by their fruits. I don’t care near as much for the seemingly “good” thing he puts out more than I care about his heart being pure and right before God. This is an eternity we are talking about, and the Bible says people will preach, heal, and cast out demons in Jesus name but He will say “depart from me, I never knew you.” That is what I find absolutely heartbreaking

This!!! People are so quick to judge because they feel they are perfect Christians doing no wrong in this world.
Everyone starts somewhere! I was a Christian all my life but I didn’t actually give my life to the Lord until I was 19! I wanted to live right and do everything the way God would want me but it is indeed a journey. I didn’t change overnight. Overtime I stopped cussing, I became celibate and so on. Because I wasn’t fully doing things right does that mean I can’t talk about God or sing about God? That’s absurd. I’m happy Justin is growing in his faith and using his voice to glorify the Lord. It seems he is trying to please and magnify God and Jesus in a world where he is one of the few who will, just like you guys. It also could make Beiber fans who aren't Christian interested in finding God. Paul says there is milktoast and there is meat. Paul also says I have learned to be all things to all people. @@Glow_Vlogs But in the right context. The Bible says to go to your brother privately and this was very public. There is correction (as you are saying) and there is judgment. Questioning someone’s walk with the Lord is never correction. Talking ABOUT someone doesn’t help, talking to them does. These people are trying to help, I know that. I’m a little older than them and with the years you see this really can be quiet hurtful to a new Christian. The Bible also says not be a stumbling block so we have to just be so careful about only saying the words GOD impresses to others, not our own. ❤️ I did a video on this topic. The world looks at us as a faith and doesn’t see our love, that’s a problem.

I have so many thoughts on this topic! I've been waiting for him to drop some kind of Christian music for a LONG time and he finally did it. When I first heard it, I honestly cried cause it was just so real and vulnerable. I think this is something he has been fighting to do for a while. It's hard to be a part of the worldly culture and the Christian culture. On one end, you want to fit in with the world especially being a pop star all his life. Then, to release Christian music, what would people think? He talks about that too in "Afraid To Say". He talks about people judging him for putting out Christian music or anything different from what he has always done. I think it was a very BOLD move on his end to do something out of his comfort zone. The man is growing. Coming from where he has been in the past, it could take him a while to get where he wants to be. God is slowly going to keep working on his heart just like he does with all of us. Another thought I had is that we as Christians tend to want to be perfect when, as we all know, we are not. I look at JB's EP as a kind of lament coming from deep in his heart. I think of David and how the majority of the Psalms are laments. David wrote some deep and somewhat dark things talking about people crushing him and enemies attacking him. I see Justin somewhat like David in that he may have sinned and messed up in the past, but God has still got him. God has still got Justin and believe will keep working on his life every single moment. I ran out of room lol, BUT I love you guys! Keep doing what you're doing!

Respectfully, Justin is nothing like David. Let's be clear. David sinned big but when Nathan confronted him he immediately repented and never committed that type of sin again. David walked with God. When you know Jesus, you must let go of the world and follow HIM. I don't see David cursing and leading people astray with one foot in the world and one foot in the church. We are living in the end times where so many Christian leaders are actually wolves. God allows the Wheat and Tares to grow up together in the church but the Elite will not be fooled by the counterfeits. Look to Jesus alone for truth, not Justin Bieber. He is just another pop star that has not totally devoted himself to Christ.

We all fall short, we are not perfect nor will we ever be. The difference is his shortcomings are scrutinized so hard by those of us who have no right to do so, while ours go unnoticed everyday. Who are we to judge this young mans walk with Christ, when us ourselves have so much to work on? Just because he is a celebrity does not mean he is any less human. I pray for him to continue pursuing Christ.

I’ve been waiting for Justin to release a Christian album and was hoping that it would be a full-on worship album because I feel like he just has it burning inside of him. It wasn’t just Peaches that had me confused; it was the ‘Explicit’ sticker on the cover of his album that did it for me. I was like, welp, not listening to that. I’m confused as well, more so disappointed. Like, please don’t put our Lord’s name on your lips, our holy Lord Christ’s name, and then go and write music like Peaches 😞 I think there may be some fear there about fully surrendering his life to the Lord. Truly, like you said, how many people have managed to live as Christians in the entertainment industry and not been affected by it? It was a dream of mine to work in Hollywood as a filmmaker, but then I start to think about the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. It’s just too much, and I don’t know how he does it. I think he needs to get away from the spotlight for a while and spend some time alone really getting to know the Father and the Lord. When we spend time in His presence, it’s like we absorb His characteristics by osmosis, and the worldliness just starts to fall off. Sorry for the long-winded answer, but I agree with you and love you guys so much. Thanks for being a light and sticking to the truth no matter what! 8:53 - You guys NAILED it on the head! I've been seeing so many people saying that you guys are being judgmental, but the Bible does talk about how it is okay to have a righteous judgement (John 7:24). James 5 v.20 says, "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." There is a difference between being judgmental to hurt someone, and righteously calling out sin. Keep in mind, the apostles did the same thing, and were hated by society. Those who spoke truth were persecuted and killed for the gospel. Though it is somewhat different, it is still happening today in our society.

The reason I like it is because it is his emotions, As I listened to Freedom it reminded me of how much Work God can do in one’s heart. It’s obvious that Justin is trying and we should not be picking apart what we know of his life. He is a celebrity, we only see what he wants us to see, we don’t or can’t truly know him. Only God does. So I think it’s an awesome step forward for him to be bold enough to put out a gospel EP, knowing that it probably won’t be received well by Hollywood in general. Should we even be discussing if we should be putting him on a pedestal or not? I don’t think that’s even a question. We should never put any human on a pedestal, we all have flaws. How about we just take each song for what it is, a praise and worship song to the Lord. Songs that can relate to new found Christians that are still struggling. God uses imperfect people and is using Justin to reach certain people. I pray for Justin and his wife to grow in the Lord and keep moving forward in their faith.

And i think we need more of that on christian songs, there is the victory but there isn't a lot of brokenness and being in a vulnerable and deep hole that's being talked about, it's always "i was there but now i'm out" but sometimes we need those songs that talk about what it's like to shout out to God when we are in deep hurt and struggle. But he also gives a lot of hope in his album. I personally loved it, and it made me cry like no other song did recently.

Imagine not being Christian enough for the Christian club. Remember everyone is on a journey and at different points. The journey to point A to B isn't always linear.
It was while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, not when we were perfect enough to join His club. We need to look at people and their journey through a lense of compassion and empathy, not through to lense of gatekeeping them out of the chosen ones cause their walk at the moment doesn't look like our approved flavour of Christianity.

I think it's pretty normal in "Christian" circles for people to cuss, smoke weed, etc. My guess is that Justin doesn't think those things are sinful at this point. So in a sense he's confused, but in another way he's not.
I think he may need a stronger, more Godly community surrounding him or things won't change all that much.

  • @Yamilovesjesus

I don't think he should've waited until he was at a "better" place in his theology. He can't write about what he hasn't gone through, it's impossible. This is his first go at it, it's a seed, it's a beginning. There should be more of an emphasis on the fact that he is going in the right direction. He can only go up from here and he will only improve.
And the comment about being "confused" for six years is not the nicest. People's walks with God and their process of sactification don't all look the same and if he is taking longer than others... it's understandable, considering the world he lives in. So great step in the right direction Justin!

Also there are many souls turning away from God because the church tells them they are not good enough unless they do this and that. If God accepted people based on our good deeds, we would all be in hell right now! This Album is a reminder for those people who are in the trenches to keep fighting cause God is waiting for them on the other side. But still, those hearing this with perverted heart might interpret it wrongly.

My question is, should we be listening to his seemingly "good" music and promoting it while he is also actively releasing music on the opposite spectrum? The Bible says that from the heart the mouth speaks so if he is actively singing sexual songs that are dishonoring to God is his gospel album actually coming from true reverence and worship? I don't believe they can go hand in hand. I don't have a desire to listen to his gospel album and I don't want to promote him as a Christian figure because from his fruits I see him as tainting the name of who Christ really is.

@@maddy-zzz I struggled with this too but then I realized that sex (according to the Bible) is something that should be between a man and his wife and God, no one else. If you want to abide by that standard I think that also includes not talking about it, singing about it, or writing about it in any way that is explicit and not honoring your marriage or God. I agree with Paul and Morgan as well when they mentioned his music videos also being pretty raunchy, which in my opinion is a no brainer, that is not honoring God. It’s a slippery slope because Justin is someone who we have seen for years in the spotlight, we’ve seen him at his lowest low and now we can see that he’s a least trying but I think he needs to be more honest with himself and his followers and just come out and say “hey look I don’t have this all figured out yet, I want to know the lord and give my life to him but I have a long way to go and I don’t think that people should be putting me on this pedestal of being a perfect god fearing Christian man” I think the best thing we can do is listen to our conscience and decide for ourselves if we want to support him and his music and then of course we need to be praying for him and anyone else in his position. I don’t think we should judge anyone for listening to his music if they say they are a Christian or even if you KNOW for a fact they are one because I think that’s a conscience issue.

I think it's important to consider who Justin's audience is. Who is maybe is called to reach. He might not be speaking to people who are in good relations with Christ. He may be called to reach people who do not know Christ or have left the church or walked away from Christ because they have been emotionally, verbally, physically abused by the Church, which we are seeing is soooooooo many people. People who were scared & traumatized by the fire & brimstone preachers that use fear & shame as means to scare their congregations into moral behavior, instead of encouraging them to build a faith and life on love - to let the love of God & their love for God guide them.
There are so many 'ex-Christians' who lost faith because of careless, horrible church experiences. They are terrified they lost the love & grace of God, and are struggling with unworthiness, and that they are doomed because of their sins. Maybe this message from Justin of grace is exactly what they need to get back on their path to Christ. He might be exactly what they need in a certain point of their journey.
In my belief, your relationship with Christ needs to be rooted in love & grace. So yes, I agree that it's not about doing whatever you want & you don't have to try to be a good person because of grace. But if people don't understand the goodness, the love, the grace of God - that's where they should start, that should be the foundation. And maybe Justin is serving as a bridge back to Christ for those that are lost or have been scarred by the fear, shame & physiological abuse that runs rampant throughout the Christian culture.
Maybe for where you two are at with your relationship with Christ, his music is not for you and that's perfectly okay. But I do not think that that means it can't serve some people and help bring them back to their path to the Lord. We have no clue how God is using Justin, or who He is trying to reach through him, maybe it's the 1 lost sheep. So maybe Justin isn't for the 99, but the 1. That's what came to my mind while listening to you two.

So thankful for your guys' thoughts! I agree with a lot of what you guys say. I think the part that I disagree with was when Morgan said that Justin's song lyrics weren't deep and might be watered down. I think something I've learned a lot, especially by listening to worship music and watching interviews behind them, is that the artists labor so much time and heart and soul and energy and thought into each of their songs, especially the lyrics. I've learned that even if songs don't feel "deep" to me, it means a lot to the lyricist, and they know meanings behind the lyrics that we don't know. Since songs are like an extension of the artist's heart, there's a lot in each song that we might never know about. So I think it's helpful to give the benefit of the doubt to the songwriter whether the lyrics are deep or not. Again, so thankful for you guys and your boldness to speak truth in love! :)

As a heartfelt Belieber, follower of Christ, and sinner, I feel compelled to share the opinion Christ doesn’t encourage me to have on Justin’s walk with Christ:
God is sovereign, so I can’t help but belieb Justin is doing exactly what God wants from him with his career. Justin’s exposure to the public has been intense-I can only imagine the level of confusion he is working through and the amount of time it will take for him to heal. In the meantime, his music IS bringing attention to Jesus Christ and Justin’s fame will reach people who may have never considered Jesus otherwise.

I really love Justin! I used to be a crazy fan of him, so for me anything that has to do with him was super hard to deal with but Jesus came and stop me from keep putting him in a pedestal. I agree with a lot that u said. Is more that just grace and love, God is transformation, growth, freedom, letting go stuff that doesn't glorify God. And yes I think there is a problem with his theology, his knowledge of the word of God, of course that I'm happy that he already has Jesus but I think he need a mentor that push him more to what really God is and to decide completely. I've been there, i think probably every Christian had deal with that, deciding if we are compromise completely with God, normally does not take a lot of time like in his case, but I love him and I pray that he can compromise fully with God and with LIVING his word.

Thanks for opening up this conversation. The one thing that you said that I feel absolutely compelled to respond to is when you talk about the abundance of grace. God's grace overflows for us. There is no limit to the amount of grace that he gives, whether we deserve it or not. We can't even comprehend it, in our humanity, the forgiveness and love he absolutely pours out for us. Regardless of if you think someone deserves it, or is or isn't trying hard enough, God still gives grace. Unendingly. Humans can be confused about what they see, but God knows his heart and God is not confused.

I don't know if I believe you can truly walk in the word under the pressures of Hollywood but only God knows this. I truly respect Justin - I can't help but think if he steps out of Hollywood (if that was the right path- I can't say I know but that's what I get from the word saying "give everything you own away and follow me") then he can still do so much to help spread the message of Christ.🙏

I just feel like everyone is judging him for releasing a gospel EP right after releasing songs like peaches. First of all some song were written in 2015 ( Wish you would, originally with poo bear)But like... isn’t everyone like this a bit these days? You can’t tell me backbiting has never been an issue in your life. You can’t tell me you haven’t been drunk one day and then opened up a bible next weekend at your church or something. All I’m saying is I think it’s awesome he still isn’t losing hope and encouraging others to spend time with god. Great video anyways. X

Sara, I respectfully disagree with your narrative on judgement. Isaiah 40:8 states The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. We have to consider the entire counsel of God. We are not to judge hypocritically, but Christians are to judge one another. We should not judge the world, Jesus will do that when he returns. However, if Bieber professes Christianity, it is mandated that we call him out when in error. Blatant error lived out before the world needs to be rebuked. "...Believers are warned against judging others unfairly or unrighteously, but Jesus commends “right judgment” (John 7:24, ESV). We are to be discerning (Colossians 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). We are to preach the whole counsel of God, including the Bible’s teaching on sin (Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 4:2). We are to gently confront erring brothers or sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:1). We are to practice church discipline (Matthew 18:15-17). We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)." Read more ...google Got Questions

I personally work in law enforcment which is an extremely difficult profession to have and to also be a Christian. with the law enforcment culture a lot of people don’t realize how anti-religion it can be... much like the profession JB is in... the spotlight drags you back down to where you were and it’s a constant fight for sanctification. I also want to add that sanctification is a lifelong process. You don’t snap your fingers and stop cussing, and being involved in worldly things. I know personally with my work environment and I’m sure with Justin’s profession, the peer pressure to be like the world is astronomical and SO hard to overcome. Even as a Christian for several years I’ve struggled to stop cussing in the work environment so that I can be a small representation of Christ to my coworkers.

btw i also agreed about the album... i kind of felt like it was very average in terms of musicality, and in terms of faith i don't like to say it.. but it was kind of superficial... i don't feel the spirit of god when listening to it in all honesty.. some of these verses could've gone much deeper into the truths of Christ and hardship..
But i absolutely respect the fact that he released an album for God.. but i would've liked it to gone deeper lyrically.. hope this makes sense lol Enjoy your day!!

I think the reason it’s watered down is & he’s talking about God loving us even though we are deep in sin is because this world is FULL of atheists, witches, agnostics etc. who are constantly saying Christianity is judgmental. It’s more shallow and not deep because people need to start somewhere. Especially those who don’t know anything about Him. I’d love for Justin to get deeper and I pray he keeps striving for holiness. 🙏🏽

Growing in faith, or anything for that matter, is never linear. I think if you really analyze his overall growth.. although there are ups and downs (completely natural) his faith is still growing in an upward trajectory, as proof by this album release. It’s easy to look at someone from the outside and say he should be better, but none of us are perfect… we just aren’t in the spotlight for everyone to see our mishaps under a microscope & none of us actually know him or where he is with god.

You claim that youre not being judgmental, but you are
I'm at the point with you guys where i see you guys posted a new video and i say to myself "What are they going to complain about now?" or "Who are they going to judge now?" and i think thats something yall should think about as you make videos and possibly change the way you approach these topics. Just a bit of advice to consider.

Wow. You made a very good point! Definitely opening my eyes about them. I’ve noticed some things they’ve been doing that are very questionable especially since they’ve been taking the pop culture route with their videos. I really hope they read your comment because the direction their channel is heading isn’t a good one tbh.

I feel we all def fo thru these stages were we are so Godly filled but our bad habits take control again...sadly they are in the spotlight n they get pointed out more. Def sends a different single to many fresh Christian's but we all are here to encourage anyone who is trying to reconnect with God. God died for all of us. We just want everyone to find the Lord.

You’re channel has good intentions, but this is very judgemental. “Come on Justin the lyrics could be deeper!” You’re kidding right? You write a Christian song and get 50 million views. You should be embarrassed to put this online.

I admit I'm not the most hip dude anymore . But I'm still l little hip enough to know who JB is he's never been on my music list I however will say that I've seen a little about this struggle he is having . I believe he is going through a spiritual battle it seems that he is trying to move to a total commitment to God but Satan is pulling on him big time with this celebrity Quagmire he definitely needs our prayers ! Grace is apart of it ! It's by grace through faith as we know . You guys are right there has to be a point we're it has to get real for him .to repent and get on fire for God completely and he needs the right mentors grounded in biblical Christianity to help him along ! He seems to come up for air and then satan drags him back under into the world and the celebrity culture then it repeats its self . It sounds like he tried to make the Album out of good intentions from his heart . But he is still a baby christian who needs to grow in the faith ! Let's keep him in prayer. Great video you guys ; keep burning for Jesus ! 🙏👐🔥🔥🔥✝️🙌

Love this, yes thank you! No judgment but confusion can’t be an excuse. I pray for Justin, I think he experiences temptation many can’t imagine and I think he probably is sincere but he is NOT a spiritual leader.

It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.(A) 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition,(B) not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.(C) 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,
Pray for him that he will be hot for Christ.

My own opinion is that it's not anyone's place or right to judge someone's else journey with God.
People go in this journey at their own pace and it's disgusting to rush someone else's progress because it's not going at your pace. He's gonna get there some day, let him take his time to get there completely.

I just joined your $10 Patreon tier. I haven’t listened to the album. I agree with almost all of your videos, but this one kinda hit different to me. I’m struggling and I struggle everyday with my decisions and I’m saved and I love the lord I talk to him and about him to everyone and my journey with him everyday. It’s okay to not be “there” yet and if y’all are “there” I literally want to cry in rejoice for you but I still have a hard time and y’all probably know better than me but aren’t all sins equal? When I do make a bad decision or choice or mistake whatever you want to call it I don’t want to I’m not in my head saying I’m going to go against god today sometimes the devil gets to me like I’m sure he gets to others. Maybe I’m just taking this the wrong way but I don’t find it funny or laughable to knock people that don’t have it all figured out but are truly trying to get to that place of grace and comfort and all knowing. Much love as always and maybe you can help me understand with the chat on Patreon. 💜

Some people think Christianity is a lifestyle which is sad as their fruits are not aligned with Christianity. I hope this does not sway new Christians that are not as rooted in Christ yet.

Am pretty sure no Christian would be talking about Justin if he remained in the world doing all the worldly stuff he was doing. Well, the Bible does say that every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Christ is Lord. For now am just gonna be glad n focus on the fact that he is leading millions of people in the presence of God, confessing Christ n how He has changed his life. Making millions praise God n acknowledge Him in his albums n events. He is fully aware of his lacking and shortcomings and sounds to me like the story of Mary of Bethany, support him through the strive to righteousness n pray for him. And let the one without fault be the first to throw the stones

It’s almost as if people are proud/comfortable to say they are in a journey . Instead of striving to be holy.
1 Peter 1:16 “Be holy, for I am holy”
Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world , but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will”
