- In this video I review the Avid MTRX Studio interface. An all round Dolby Atmos enabled interface that won't break the bank but will make a dent at around £5k. I have own this interface for 2 years now and have really put it through it's paces and have. a great deal of user experience with it.

Hi Paul, can you make a video about your POV of audio cables, snake cables quality differences etc? Also is it okay to use patchbay when mastering? Curious to hear from you.
That's odd!! I was quoted from Sweetwater that it would be in June when they would receive product to send out to customers. Super excited to get mine in!! (And I agree, the Thunderbolt Card should have come standard...)

I’ve been doing some research on this interface as well as the Pro Tools | Carbon because I’ve got a long term goal of owning a small Audient console.
I’ve been researching on what interface should I get and if I should also integrate HDX with it.
What would you personally recommend?
And also, what would you recommend in case of having a rig setup with an analog console but also some Atmos monitoring up to 7.1.4?

Firstly regarding HDX I got a card a little while ago in an Avid 19" inch and I had to send it back. The benefits were poor and it actually ended up limiting me. The fan noise was horrendous too on the rack. I went from a silent room to working next to a wind turbine. I wouldn't personally ever go back to HDX unless I needed to track and I could find a silent rack solution.
Carbon has a HDX Card inside which is brilliant if you want to track. I just found the new hybrid engine a step back. I'm probably not the target audience for HDX.
Hi there - thanks for all the videos. Brilliant stuff. Could you do a video on networking. I have a Dock and an S1 - but the AVID recommended router is on its end of life cycle. There’s no information from AVID as to what to use. Would be awesome is you did a vid and recommended stuff. Best wishes x
We use a switch for our network router. This one works perfectly. Cisco SG350-10MP Managed Switch
I would much prefer a metric Halo 3d over this. For the amount avid charges for this.
I use a dad via Dante and radar convertors ,killer
Would you say interfaces like prism or lynx are the same level of conversion as avid, or better?
I wouldn't say there is much difference. I've been really impressed with the Avid conversion, which I think is based on the DAD conversion. I will be switching this interface with the Lynx Aurora N next week. So I will be directly comparing conversion.

@kekmusic181 yes not much between them really. Both lovely clean conversion.
@@AudioAnimalsStudio thanks for reply. I'm checking few converters to upgrade my system, and thats a usefull review. TB card gives only 64 i/o (on MTRX II gives more i/o) so IMO its not well founded that upgrade. Im considering Apogee vs DAD Ax Center vs MTRX studio on top budget, and rednet vs Antelope on cheaper price. Whats ur opinion? Working on postpo, and instaling atmos system. Cheers!

Hi, how good of a room correction is the Matrix? Thanks
It is as good as you are able to make it. It can correct your room perfectly if you know what perfect sounds like. I don't use it as I use a Trinnov which perfectly adjust the room without me having to do any correction in the MTRX.
@@AudioAnimalsStudio if you would not have the Trinnov and Got the Matrix first ..do you still buy the Trinnov?
@Blue Matrix I had the MTRX first then got the Trinnov. The MTRX or any manual room correction is only as good as the person correcting the room. The Trinnov is essential for every room in my opinion.

Hate how this greedy company is taking the monopoly on the "industry standard" which is protools on mac, while on windows is running like Stephen Hawking
