Deep Purple, mimha banda favorita, assim como os Beatles. Ian Gillan, é um vocalista sem comentarios, resistindo ao tempo e mostrando que apesar de um vocal diferente, ainda é diferenciado.
Another winner. Best album, since Whoosh. It's interesting, I can hear the Steve Morse era in this album. He did such a great job sculpting their modern sound into the Autumn years. Looking forward to a stimulating part two.
Listened three times now and the album keeps growing on me, absolute banger but I wouldn't expect less given what they've been putting out the last couple decades, Deep Purple is simply the best
I Love the album , it’s a grower. I’m sure Ian is giving an honest performance in the studio with no “help”. He always sings in tune and I’m sure I read somewhere that he doesn’t even bother doing lots of takes. Looking forward to part two ! 👌🏻👍🏻
Great review guys. I love the album. Re back up vocals it might be Simon because he is a great vocalist on his own. Also I heard someone say Pictures of You is about the the deception of pictures that use filters.
Hey John and Nate. Just curious " How is = 1 holding up for you guys, almost 3 months later ?? It has lost it's shine for me,but sits comfortably in my Purple library.
It's holding up pretty welly for me. After seeing this I listened again last night and I'm still loving it. The initial excitement, of course, couldn't last forever but overall it's a very solid release!
'Show Me' is very 'Gillan' band/Purpendicular. Keyboards sound like Colin Towns. ★★★½ 'A Bit on the Side' = Ted the Mechanic/Rosa's Cantina & Zero the Hero. ★★★½ 'Sharp Shooter' - the riff is very Abandon. Don's solo is very Colin Towns again. ★★★★ 'Portable Door' - Classic DP Shuffle (Pictures of Home, Strange Kind of Woman, Mean Streak). ★★★★ 'Old Fangled Thing' - Ian Paice nuff said. No One Came vocal delivery. ★★★½ 'If I were you' - It's growing on me. Simon's sound hints at 'Sometimes I feel Like Screaming'. ★★½ 'Pictures of you' - I'm going around humming the chorus which is the best part + the outro is cool. ★★★
They should have changed their name a very long time ago.How you can give some of these songs 4s and 4.5s when you only gave Rainbow's songs 2.5s and 3s is Beyond me. (Temple of the King, 16th Century Greensleeves,Wolf to the Moon,Insatiable etc etc) But then we all have different tastes. I quite liked Portable door but I wouldn't listen to this album at all again probably. Ian's vocals do nothing for me anymore, sadly!
No thanx. Purple sometimes sound like the band Gillan. Too many words without fine melodies. RITCHIE BLACKMORE: Perfect strangers, The battle rages on, Knocking at your back door, Speed king, Wasted sunsets...Another level.
This album is in my top 3 Purple albums. 10/10
It’s a great one!

Agreed. He left his mark on the band so well that it can even be felt after his departure!

Yes, I really don’t see this as anything other than a triumph.

Absolutely. It just keeps getting better the more I listen!

Oh yes. That makes perfect. Sense about pictures of you. Thanks for listening!

Alza i voti amico
= 1 is top to bottom their best since Purpendicular.
I think the case could surely be made for this.
Not impressed
🤣🤣🤣

It’s almost like music is subjective! 😉
I won't be buying this album. And once again the drum sound terrible. Roger glover needs to be in the producers chair
@@bartrobinson2103 You don't know what you're talking about, so neither do I.
@PurpleHounding I have my strong opinion and i'm sticking with it!
North American jukebox with limited spins. Never fun once it cuts you off.

**danger** a guy stuck in 1993! Beware
