I watched a couple of your videos previously but subscribed after you helped with the Yellow Submarine. THIS one showed Mater and I LOVE it. Not only the body style but the well earned patina. Nice , very capable build. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks
Hot dang! They better let you in the tow truck Olympics, that's one sweet rig. They teased us with the yellow submarine for so long and then only gave us a short video! It was cool to see you're involved! Now convince Paul he needs to step into the diesel world with his boat!
I’m a new subscriber. Found you by way of the wrecker games. I’m from the U.P. of Mich but spent 3 winters ‘10-11, 11-12 and 12-13 in Havasu. I met more authentic motor heads there than all my life previous. Guys who built what they drove, not bought it at Barrett Jackson. I’m not surprised you are from there. I’m hoping to get back there next winter. I’ll look you up. 👍
Man I love your rig I wish you had someone film you more often so we could really see what that suspension can do in that terrain, thanks to you for making my sundays more enjoyable
I'm kind of slow but I'm starting to figure out why you are all so successful (you, Matt, Paul), you are rescuing vehicles that you've also built yourself, or worked on, you've had every part of these vehicles apart on your bench, so you understand even more than regular recovery guys exactly what's going on, where the stress points and week parts might be. It's almost an unfair advantage :) Fun to watch as always ...
Bringing back to life an old piece of vehicle memory, that will be profoundly interesting as you put the engine in & work on the body. The recovery of the "recovery guys vehicle" was pretty intense, as it was squeezed in & stuck; & then a two point pull released it and you got it "home". Your unique recovery vehicle is one of kind (it appears) & was more than up to task in doing the job; & you have the talent, art and skill to know what to do. Your friend & the others are lucky you were around to aid & assist. And it's nice helping friends, that would likely aid you, if you were in need or "distress".
I'm excited to see more of the old Olds. That sounds like it's going to be a fun project. Has the roof on it been chopped? It looks a little low. I like the recovery videos a lot, and hopefully, the recovery of the yellow submarine gets covered, not just the rebuild. I know it's been in the works in secret for a while. Now that it's been revealed, i know it's gonna be interesting, to say the least.
Merlin, I saw in another video that you grew up in Orderville. My gggrandfather was Isreal Hoyt who was one of the founders. My ggrandfather, grandfather, and father were all born and raised in Orderville. We are probably cousins!! Love your work!
I saw video of the jet boat earlier. If I didn't live so far from lake Powell I thought about going to get it myself. A few years ago I got a boat from lake Somerville in Texas when water was low. The original owners sighed the title over to me. It was in sunk 5 years before I found it. I still have it.
MAN!!!, The common sense you show is inspiring. It's 7:30p & I'm going in my shop to do something - I think build that alternator for welding you did. Cool stuff!!!
Always waiting for Merlon’s next video. Thanks for sharing. My neighbors turned me into the city, twice. Luckily the code enforcement officer likes me.
Great stuff Merlin!! Jason was in a bit of a pickle all right!! Even if he hadn't busted his Jeep I'm thinking he may not have made it through there. ?? You did a find job getting him out!! I keep hearing about this "yellow submarine" project. I'm getting pretty darn curious!! 😁 Oh yeah... in 1976 I was 26 and had my second child!! LOL!!
you might have me by a few years I was 6 years old back in that date .. Great Video ..when I have done chain work towing or hauling I use some elec tape on the hooks so they can't come unhooked .. I moved out of the village into the township where I am at next neighbor is 1/4 too a 1/2 mile away ..when I was in the village and had a grinder out at 8 pm the neighbor was calling the police .. now I can do work at 3am if I want too .. time for a welder in the wrecker .
Shhhhhh ! Yellow sunkn boat . Lol I love guys like you that have been there , dun that & just smart . I’m not far behind at 52 yrs young & somehow still alive & building cool stuff . Your knowledge is just unreal . Thanks to that Utah rat guy helped me find yo channel. It’s a small world!!!
Nice recovery. Watching the diesel car development with interest. Reckon you'll need a fairly high rear axle to take advantage of the torque. Thanks guys.
My uncle had a Mazda that same year and got three speeding tickets in first year and then my cousin tried to out run the law in it and might have gotten away but he stalled it and did 5 months in jail and great video and great job with the recovering God bless from GA and happy holidays and stay safe
Amen Brother 🙏 ❤️
"Nothing Better than your little white dog coming to give ya kisses to say welcome home" 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

One of the sure things about wheeling is that you will always find the weakest spot of the build when you need it the most!😀

Still like your truck the best. It looks great instead of a hobbled together hunk of junk.
