Thank you for the advice. Wish I heard it before spending so much money on making a prototype and still at the same place because the marketing sheet is important to sell the idea.
This video is very beneficial and its nice to know i dont have to have to have a working prototype to get a license contract with Department of Transportation or Waste Management.
Great advice. My questions are.1 > At what stage of negotiations does it become important to discuss the warranty clause of an item/tool ? 2> If that Item/tool has no moving parts and can be priced under $20, is it even worth it to discuss a warranty clause for the product?
You mean warranty they would give the consumer. If so, we've never addressed that in a licensing contract we've helped a student with. Iv'e never seen that be a problem. I wouldn't worry about it but it's something you can negotiate. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder
I was also under the impression as well, that you have to construct a "working" prototype just to be able to prove your product's reliability/validity.

Esh, You can do it. Don't think of it as sales. Think of it as showing a company how they can make money. You can do that with a sell sheet so you don't need to pitch and feel like a salesman. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder

I hope this isn't a silly question but I have to ask. So if I don't have a prototype but I do show them a virtual prototype am I just selling them the idea? At some point after licensing do I have to figure out how it's manufactured etc.?
You sell the “benefits”first. Then depends on the complexity of your product idea. You might have to show proof of concept. And that can be done in many different ways. And sometimes they even help. Good question. -Stephen

I hired a fiverr graphic artist to provide a 3D rendering of something I pieced together from images on the internet. It was useless garbage. Don't use fiverr. Use someone you know or is recommended by someone you trust.
Designers can vary a lot as far as their competency goes. It doesn't surprise me that you didn't get quality for $5 to $20 on FIverr. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder
Yes, I had an invention group steal my idea from me and change it around. My ideas will go to the grave with me. Never trust anyone never trust an invention group that you have to pay. That’s what happened to me never again while I trust anyone.
This is a million dollar wisdom.

What software are you using to make these virtual prototypes? You said there are a few out there, but what do you recommend?
I’m not sure. My design team created these.

@@inventRight ok Thanks Andrew ....so the likelihood of the licensor wanting to discuss a warranty clause for the negotiations is quite low???

not paying attention to the video. the founder clearly mentioned about PPA instead of a full-on patent application.
The thing is that I have to make a prototype to be able to test my invention
Ok

But won't they just steal it? A provisional patent doesn't mean anything that the big guys can't overcome.. please correct me if I'm wrong?

@inventRight certainly will do.. im just unsure how to bargain a percentage of the sales?.. is there a video about that? 👍
