Iceborne Rajang was way better than this one minus grabbing invisible walls. The ground slam, laser, spin attack, and 1,2,3 punch combo were all big enough openings for AEDs or SAED while this version only has the laser and the new combo attack. It's like they made this one harder to hit without actually making the fight harder.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 I explained how Iceborne has 4 good openings while Sunbreak only has two. How does that make them sound the same? Iceborne Rajang also had a topple for every horn or arm break giving more potential openings whereas Sunbreak Rajang only gets briefly staggered on part break.
Rajang in Rise may have less opening. But Hunters in Rise have way more mobility. Wirebugs skill and jumping on demand are nuts. I still remembered that Furious Rajang Event in Iceborne trying yo find slope just to use jump attack.

Great Vindictus video! I cringed when most of that second SED whiffed, painfully relatable. Funny thing is elemental CB has always been about this strong. I guess one good thing about damage numbers is it helped people finally realise elemental did more damage at the cost of KO.
There are many openings that Jang gives. He is aggressive and you got to not be greedy with SAED all the time. He has so less HP that he can go down with sword attacks alone. Not to mention the openings in which you will do AED and SAED. He's a perfect match up for CB and blocking weapons. Never give up!
@@stephenjohn2131 He has two the laser and the new combo attack. You can maybe get off an AED during the super slam with CPP if you're lucky but it's a gamble. hold analog stick downward when u are doing a super. a good thing to do too when u know you’re gonna miss the attack, change to regular discharge just in time so u don’t lose all phials and can move away sooner
So I'm not the only one who doesn't like vanilla Rajang in Sunbreak. It's like they didn't make him harder just harder to hit. Most of his attacks feel trivial to avoid but almost none of them have openings big enough for CB to do anything minus the laser and his new combo attack. I preferred Iceborne Rajang cause he had enough openings for at least AEDs while feeling way more aggressive. Only thing I didn't like about that version was the whole grabbing invisible wall thing.
Fifth Gen Rajang has been a major step down in general. Iceborne Rajang was leagues worse than 4th Gen Rajang and Rise Rajang made him one of the easiest hunts in the game, which is a disservice to Rajang, a monster that easily rivals Elder Dragons. To remedy his fight, people were asking Capcom to speed him up. What they did instead was keep his speed but remove all of the openings he had, minus the two you mentioned, one of wich being newly added.
@@AkantoreX I personally grew to like his fight in Iceborne since it was one of the ones I was seriously challenged by but eventually l figured out how to deal with him by watching speed runners like you and Peppo. But the times when he would grab invisible walls was really annoying and then I didn't like how much I had to focus the tail but thankfully furious Rajang resolved that part of the fight and was more enjoyable. I figured speed was the issue with Sunbreak Rajang cause I noticed he has most of the same moves from Iceborne yet felt significantly easier. Wasn't sure if I was just imagining it but I'm glad you could clarify it for me.
They're running Mail of Hellfire from the Scorned Magnamalo armor in this run, which gives you different boosts depending on which scroll you're on. Blue scroll gives a big boost to elemental damage, so that's the one they have to stay on to get the most value out of their ice phial build.
I believe Deriliction needs some time to power up to its fullest, and it doesn't look like Deriliction is used at all, especially considering they're in Blue Scroll.
What's the idea behind MoH + Bloodlust over something like Dereliction + Kushala's Blessing (+ Bloodlust)? Is it coming out ahead mathematically or is it just to get Hellfire Cloak because there's so many monsters to get topples on?
*Dereliction + Bloodlust:* Dereliction buffs element on the red scroll while mail of hellfire buffs element on the blue scroll. This automatically makes them have terrible synergy with each other since one will be wasted while the other is in use. The reason dereliction is commonly used over mail of hellfire is because the of its incredible synergy with resentment (which is also naturally on the armor pieces with dereliction). Bloodlust is thrown on top of this because it provides further buffs to raw, crit chance (which is mostly useful for raw builds), and the heal from curing bloodlust's frenzy is applied to all red health which means it heals the damage taken from dereliction as well. *Why bloodlust + dereliction is not used here:* The problem however is that element phials on charge blade can't crit and don't primarily scale off your raw damage. So all the raw buffs from dereliction + resentment + bloodlust are largely wasted on an ele charge blade build. *Mail of Hellfire + Ele atk:* At lvl 3, MoH provides a +20% bonus to element. This is the same bonus that lvl 5 elemental attack up gives. These of course stack which leads to +40% element. Again, because ele charge blade phials scale off the element value, +40% element is a huge increase in damage, which is why it was the combo chosen to be used here. *Hellfire Cloak:* In most ganeplay, the 1 free knockdown provided by lvl3+ hellfire cloak is essentially useless. You'll likely only get one knockdown per hunt and it doesn't even last that long, so the total percent of a monster's health you take during that knockdown is negligible at best. In an arena quest however, because each monster will get knocked down at least once and has less health in total, the total percent of their health you can take during that one knockdown increases drastically to the point of being genuinely useful.
