- You don't need a Kobe fadeaway. I'll say that right now. But, being able to slightly fade on jumpers is an unbelievable skill to develop as any style of player. Here's how.

99,9% of people can barely hit a spot up wide open shot. That being said when your close to the rim against tall guys sometimes your too close and leaning back can actually take some of that power off your shot which is exactly what you want that close to the basket. Sometimes those close shots can be tricky trying to finesse them in.
I agree I almost always fade just a little on those short jumpers
@@JD-ny3vz I have a trash follow through so i just rely on that lol
You’re closer to the rim, so why would you need more power? Because your closer you’d need less power. That’s why a lot of shooters have a two motion shot in the midrange to control their power from closer near the basket.
@@acepiston5552 yah i agree completely. Thats what why i said a fadeaway is good close up to take away power.a floater is another option due to not following through as well as a two motion shot. :)
I think what worked for me was being willing to be creative. I trained so much fundamentals that even though I could do lots of things I still was having trouble finishing. Then I finally just reached a point where I started sending close and mids that were a bit off balanced or "sketch". Found that I was way more effective with scoring inside when I stopped caring about perfect form and what people are "supposed" to do.
The fact that you take clips from french basketball show the efforts that you put in your videos 👊
Ps: I'm a Mike James fan
This is a real situation off the game , I'm from Brazil and I learn a lot with your videos.
Hey Coach, can you breakdown Scottie Thompson from the Philippines on how he gets a lot of rebounds as an undersized guard?? Watching you from🇵🇭🇵🇭
Goodness you do not miss I been looking to start working on my fader
always had trouble with short jumpers/fades. honestly feel like i shoot better farther from the basket when im at game speed i feel like i over shoot. the shifted jumper workout before even trying it i think thats gonna help me alot. thanks.
Appreciate you fr bro. again one of the best trainers in the world imo
Much love!
Thank you for the vid. Really like that you show the misses. Keep being awesome
Awesome video!! Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷!
I've learned a bunch with you, mainly to have confidence in my game and just go for it. You do an amazing, inspiring job!
Fades are also pretty hard to stop
Can you do a attention to detail on jalen Brunson. He’s 6’0 and drives to the basket like he’s 6’6 How do you teach that?
Already did!!
I got a sidestep fade off the dribble on the right elbow that's basically money anytime it's freed up. Didn't even work on it a whole lot, just something that felt natural so I kept doing it until the reps just settled in over time and the amount I've shot them in games.
Thanks always 😌
Thank you so much man! Keep it up!
This is great
Facts every players needs a fadeaway
9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9 NLT)
As a shorter player with a low release point, how am I meant to get fades over people taller and with longer wingspan like someone such as Kyrie?
I guess try and create separation before the fade as he also said in the vid… maybe like a stepback into a fade or something
@@jaysebas3678 yup stepback into a fade keep live dribble. Taller players have to sometimes too but most of the time talk players can stop their dribble.
Needed this
How should i aim for fadeaways?
how many makes per drill? would love to know!
It depends on a lot of things! How much time you have, how difficult the drill is, how many drills you’re doing, etc
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball guessI'lll figure it out on my shooting day. thanks!
