I loved seeing The Last Jedi in theaters! Luke's story caught me by surprise but it was better than I was imagining, which would have just been the stereotypical ultra powerful Jedi superhero. I was surprised when I left the theater and found out a lot of people hated it. I love too that he was the New Hope when he blew up the Death Star because his story of making that impossible shot inspired the whole galaxy. And he died the New Hope because from the Resistance and everyone else's perspective he went out and faced the First Order alone and they couldn't destroy him. That story will have inspired a whole new generation and they even show it with those kids in the stables talking about Luke's story like he's a super hero

I didn’t like how they did Luke at first but then I realized he’s just like us, he’s human, even the most powerful Jedi can fall into depression and failure, and guilt thinking he was about to kill his own nephew because he thought he was bad! So he isolated himself for his failure.
My process about last jedi was just like you. I didnt hate it but i didnt love it. It took me while to see what kind of story Rian Johnson trying to tell. And it clear to me the Last Jedi is this trilogy revenge of the sith and empire strike back. The one that will stand out the most.
I never had to much of an issue where he ended up... the ground work for what we saw of him in TLJ was laid in TFA and while I do believe they could of handled it better and maybe not killed him off there I'm also fine with how he was handled at the end of the day...
On the point of people being disappointing that Luke wasn't the hero we wanted him to be in the last film like we know he "can" be. I would like to relate that to there will be many events in life and everyone will have their role to play and we are all characters in a play created by the universe. Despite what role we may have played at one point doesn't dictate what role we play in an upcoming event. Yes he played a major role in the other films but the "Force" no longer needed him to play a role. We are all normal people, it's just that sometimes life requires us to play an extraordinary role.
A piece of advice for reaction videos... watch and react first, then comment... stopping the video constantly is a mood killer... you had nice observations but would have been better after the video.
Back then after TLJ released.. i really love it (except those cringe love.. haha) and saw so many critisim.. i love to see Luke's image after 30 years.. 30 years have past .. what do you expect for an old veteren? Buff like stallone playing big guns?.. sadly people only want to see is their beloved Hero swinging and dancing.. plus recently Disney going to erase all sequel trilogy.. GG.. the sequel suppose to be 'grandchildren' story by George, now what story to be continued for..

Finally someone understand Luke’s character in TLJ, yes I know many people will hate me for this but it is really great movie (except the Luke’s Green milk part) becose it has one of the best if not the best messages in all SW movies, they did the best with this tribute and I love how they connected it all. Plus Luke’s behavior is realistic (everyone is young, naive and positive but as we grow we have more experiences, more failures and during our life we change our behavior and our opinions, so even Luke Skywalker is just a human and nobody is perfect not even him) and he did the same as Yoda and Obi-Wan but the reason Why everyone hate Luke’s character development is becose they had just too ridiculous expectations and then they were disappointed. I’am not a sequel trilogy fan but I love TLJ and if I forget the fact that TFA is just a modern version of Ep IV I enjoy that one too so I hope that nobody will kill me for my honest opinion. But I really like your reaction tho👍🏻
I'm not sure how reactors can pause videos and expect to give a real reaction. It breaks the flow of the emotion in the video, and in the person reacting as well.
I hope Disney learns from their greatest failure and fire Darth Kathleen Kennedy so that they can erase the failures of her work and the sequel trilogy And fix everything by going back to true canon through the EU

There were many things that I didn't like about Disney star wars, but Luke's character arc was not one of them.
