These are the BADDEST thing I’ve ever seen!!! I collected during the late 80’s and 90’s and these cards have only sparked my love for baseball card collecting!!! That Hawk auto card is an absolute thing of beauty in my opinion!!!! Love this!!!
That Al kaline card hit me in the feels! Easily one of the nicest tigers I met over the years. Super kind and just a fantastic person! That’s a awesome card!
Chad Raush Modern baseball cards are essentially gambling. Awful investment. If you like the cards, or have money to burn, then that’s fine. If you’re looking to make money, not so much.
Wow sweet pull Phil once in a lifetime is right . It's so awesome that you get just as excited as the rest of us pulling huge hits that's why we love this channel . Thanks so much for sharing. Take care and God bless.
Hey Phil, really enjoy watching your vids. Thanks for what you do brother. That Cy Young though!! I think I was shaking with you. What an amazing pull. Definitely once in a lifetime opportunity.
The Cy Young... wow. Alomar coming in hot in this case. What a beautiful product. Hope to get my hands on some of these cards in the not so distant future.
Love your videos! I’ve been collecting baseball cards since the late 80’s, up until my dad passed away in 2012. I’ve recently gotten back into it the past couple years and your videos are really amazing! I’ve been a fan of you for years and to see you into collecting makes it even better! Keep up your awesome content!
Holy sheeeeeeeeeet Phil how do you not have 1mill subs. I love this stuff. It is the only chance someone like myself would be able to see these amazing cards. The Cy Young ................ I was disappointed there wasn't a Trout Auto. You have shown us a lot of good stuff. thanks eh
Wow Phil grate video and being a pitcher I can only imagine your excitement at that cut auto, and you being a Yankee at one time I have profound respect for you, keep them coming
Glad I found your channel I had no clue these types of cards were out there until I stumbled upon some of your past vids. I may not be able to afford these types of products but I love watching you open them thx for the enjoyment
Nice Aaron, it got me thinking about the correct way to value professionally graded cards - so I thought I would share my method/formula with you guys/gals in the hobby of collecting vintage cards regardless of the sport.... When it comes to graded "vintage" cards (it's a subjective term/idea, I know but I like 1980 or before "the hobby boom") I usually go by the formula explained below... Actually it's more of a "saying" to me, lol... "A card should have to grade to it's year for the card to be worth it's high BV" and on average that's absolutely TRUE. So for example: an average raw 1968 Topps Hank Aaron should grade between a 6.5 or 7.0 when it's slabbed for it to be worth 100% book value, and you tack on 20% for each grade above that 6.5 or 7 (lets use 6.5 for sake of argument)... So a PSA 8 Aaron's real value should be worth it's high book ($100.00) x 20% of it's high book value x 3 because a PSA 8 is 3 grades above a 6.5. so it's, so it's roughly valued at 60%/ er .60 higher than the high BV.... I know it sounds confusing or complicated or even poppycock, but you will understand what I'm posting in the next 5 minutes if you can do basic math.... For sake of argument - lets say the 1968 Aaron's high BV is $100.00, and then you send it to PSA for grading and that card comes back slabbed PSA 6.5 - then that card at a PSA 6.5 should be valued at 100% BV or "high book"...However, being a PSA 8 - the card should/will gain 20% of the cards value tacked on per .5 the card goes up a notch in grade.. So an "average" 1968 Aaron should grade to a 6.5, making it's value be high BV So a PSA 7 Aaron for example should be valued at $120.00 because 20% of $100.00 is.. A PSA 7.5 should be valued at $144.00 because 20% of $120.00 is $144.00 A PSA 8 should be valued at $173.00 because what is 20% of $144.00? After that it starts to get complicated Of course this "rule of thumb" only goes so far, is subjective and applies to cards between 1980 and 1950 and doesn't account for any outside factors which could add or decrease the cards value - such as being an SP vs. a DP, typical issues that particular card faces that are outside of the collectors hands like centering, print spots, typical errors or imperfections caused via manufacturing or demand/popularity etc... Ever notice how some "vintage" cards seem always to share common traits like being o/c - or have the same printing flaws - then you finally find that one that defeats all odds and doesn't have the "typical flaws" you expect and that card clearly stands out because it's unique but unfortunately the corners are dinged?...... Yea? well not having those "common flaws" is way more valuable than a couple of dinged corners - ten-fold (if they're only dings)... Remember that too, but I suppose a lot of collectors are used to those imperfections, and in some cases that's why they love the card, lol.. I'm actually "strictly" a hockey card collector but I do enjoy vintage baseball cards, because despite being born in 1980 - vintage cards got me hooked on collecting as a kid because I saw beat corners and nice centering or terrible centering and nice corners - that type of stuff - but you know what? there is nothing you can do about manufacturing flaws - which makes condition flaws less significant than manufacturing flaws.. A card in which 90% are o/c don't bother me if they have a couple miles on them - but it's goofy at times because sometimes they do... Now I'm just rambling about details, lol..... Hopefully you understand my grading method and agree with it - if you believe it's a flawed method then let me know why - because I would love a different perspective I have not took into consideration....
This popped up in my recommended, listening to the frank thomas ejected story I was actually at the game with my dad when I was younger can’t forget it
you could get a 16 to 35mm lens to have more range depending on what you break, you could invest on a pair of lights, would help with your focusing issue...
2:30 man that question you just raised in my mind is way more interesting than this break. ima have to search that down and brb. dude that's awesome! you're on a pretty short list of players who have done that. god damn dude did you just win a cy young :)
I almost $#!+ Myself seeing that cy young watching this 2 months later I can't imagine how you felt literally holding a piece of history from the man they named a prestigious award many H.o.F members only wish they could have amazing utterly amazing
Great video, really like the card design! What I thought was awesome was when you got to the Frank Thomas cards and reflected on playing against him, it's been something that I wanted to hit ya up about. I was and still am a BIG "BIG HURT" fan ! I was able to be at one of the games you two battled in . So , I would really like to see you do a video of players who you played against or with and their cards you collect. Thanks again for the videos👍 God Bless, Be safe everyone. Trout 🙏✌
Holy shit not only was this case amazing but I just realized this who this was breaking. Dude I've seen a couple videos of your and heard u comment about pitching before just never really put it all together. That is awesome that u are doing breaks I gotta keep an eye out to get into one of these eventually!!
Hey Phil, really enjoy your breaks! Was wondering about your video setup with the Sony A9, what lens are you using? Maybe look into a Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 that way you can go really wide for big package openings like this one, or zoom in for regular openings? Thanks again for helping me come back into collecting sportscards again. I began in the late 80's while living in Santa Ana, CA. and then stopped about 2000, and am coming back into collecting again. Keep up the great work and thanks again!
LOL, I wrote this message before watching the full video and it appears that is setup you are currently using, please excuse my premature comment, but WOW, speechless as well for the AMAZING Pull of a lifetime, especially being a pitcher! WOW!!!

As a former pitcher, that had to be awesome seeing that Cy Young auto. Your hands looked like they showed your reaction perfectly.
These are the BADDEST thing I’ve ever seen!!! I collected during the late 80’s and 90’s and these cards have only sparked my love for baseball card collecting!!! That Hawk auto card is an absolute thing of beauty in my opinion!!!! Love this!!!
WOW... that cut is insane. And the card signatures in general are all crisp and clean. That's a loaded briefcase right there!
That Al kaline card hit me in the feels! Easily one of the nicest tigers I met over the years. Super kind and just a fantastic person! That’s a awesome card!
It’s crazy you can hit one of the best cards possible and not even cover the cost of the case
Chad Raush Modern baseball cards are essentially gambling. Awful investment. If you like the cards, or have money to burn, then that’s fine. If you’re looking to make money, not so much.
Chad Raush You actually made that point. I was just agreeing with you.
@USAFO6 20-25K on average.
Yeah 200$ psa snd some reproduced crap. Topps has gotten out of control. The auto set is nice still not 20g
They should have a loaded 357 with a single gold bullet for when you add up what you lost.

Wow. Cy Young! As a Canadian I love the Alomar and what he did for the Jay's.
I would have been happy with that case Alomar was one of my favorite players
@@jimc.goodfellas he and Joe Carter were national heroes. Biggest and best trade in Jay's history.
Thanks for the spoiler your comment is at the top and popped up when i clicked on the vid
