I get the fact that you want to focus on everything else he did as a dad that was good but to really start the healing, you have to recognize that a "good" dad would never look at his daughter that way. I just had this conversation with my dad. Mind you, this was a conversation after finally seeing him after 19 years. We talked about how each one of us children have different experiences of their childhood me being the oldest may have seen it differently and it shaped me differently, but then my little sister that was five years younger, experienced it differently than how I experienced it in the moment and then of course, my baby brother, that is nine years younger than I am May feel a different type of way about the exact same situation.
So about the being defensive towards your partner and letting certain things slide with other people that you normally wouldn't let slide with your partner, I was started to think maybe it does have something to do with mommy/daddy issues and not with an ex-relationship because I am somehow the same way with my partner and his literally the first relationship I have ever been in.
It is because women will bring issues to a romantic relationship depending on the relationship that you had with your father. Defensiveness, resistance, guilt, manipulation, conflict avoidance, and bad communication skills, sabotaging all comes from daddy issues unfortunately. And whatever behavior you saw in your mother you mirror. So if she was stubborn you will in some way be stubborn.
I’ve heard from different psychologists that women will bring issues to a romantic relationship depending on the relationship with their father as a child, & men will bring issues to a romantic relationship depending on the relationship with their mother as a child.
I had sibling issues let’s talk about that lol edest brother was very mean due to given authority when babysitting unfortunately we resented each other for years we’ve never talked about it but I forgave and let go I just prefer peace but would like my feelings acknowledged,this conversation made me realize I still do hold on to some kind of resentment
Y’all remind me so much of my sisters and I! I’m the middle child but ironically I relate to the oldest when it comes to relationships to a T. Evolving into a woman but understanding our worth; however I will say battling old wounds and making my partner feel that they have to be absolutely perfect to keep me was something I never liked about myself. I also know that a man will continue to try their best if they love you. Infidelity is inexcusable if there’s honest communication regarding lack of sex, meals, physical affection. Whatever it is! Loyalty is loyalty. I’ve grown the most in my relationship now, I’ve learned what my true red flags are and my self awareness is in full effect. I respect you all for being vulnerable and I hope we all find a partner that can make us feel safe, seen, and secure. ❤

Being submissive is not needed in order to have respect and love for and from your partner. I don't have my mom or dad any longer and have a lot of past traumas and am in therapy and couples therapy bc he also has traumas he is working through. Jackie doesnt want to hear "no" bc of lack of submissiveness but maybe bc she respects herself now and is finding her voice.
We push people awag because we unconsciously know they’re not correct for us and our actions and behaviors push us to push them away, meanwhile we actively want people around us because we’re pursuing the person we unconsciously crave, on a soulful plane..
I think because in a relationship you live with that person so you have to deal with it if you choose to. Now with a friend you can just ignore them lol 🤣 n don’t come home to them anyways.

"You need to feed the king in a man in order for him to give you everything" wth.. you shouldn't have to (need to) (feed or getting him laid in order to get what you deserve (respect, love,) "eveything". "so he doesnt look anywhere else" wth Chiquis this is NOT HEALTHY advice for yourself or mujeres... you are placing blame on yourself and women for mens actions so in order to prevent that we need to do xyz. No mujeres. Men should respect you bc you are a PERSON and he loves you.
