- Prime Minister Theresa May says the terror attack near a north London mosque is "every bit as sickening" as recent ones to hit the UK. She was speaking after a man died and 10 people were injured when a man drove a van into worshippers outside the Muslim Welfare House. Eight people were taken to hospital after the attack outside the mosque, which is also a community centre. A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A lot of Muslims don't seem to understand what a terrorist is. You have to commit an act of violence for a political or religious agenda. In this case, the person in question did commit the attack for a political agenda, and has been appropriately labelled a terrorist. Thus, your criticism is entirely mute.

Wouldn't this be better described as a retaliation attack or revenge attack? A terrorist attack is usually defined as an attack carried out with the purpose of furthering religious or ideological goals, where as this attack seems to have been carried out as a response to previous attacks carried out with the intention of furthering religious goals.

FYI the oxford dictionary definition of terrorism is "The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims" by that definition it is a terrorist attack because he was targeting muslims. Nowadays we use it when a 'brown person attacks white people in the name of Islam' type scenario but that is just the media skewing its meaning. That's not to say that what we typically call "terrorist attacks" aren't terrorist attacks, they are...but then so is this...

3. Can a suspect of an actual "terrorist attack" be reasonably deemed "not guilty by reason of insanity" (NGRI)?
4. Is "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims." a vaild charge for a suspect that does not have the mental capacity understand the consequences of their actions nor any capacity to limit such deranged actions?
