  • @mytrip6991
    @mytrip6991 7 месяцев назад +3

    There is a lot of misunderstanding in the comments about this. Amanda herself requested this and it's a GOOD thing.
    This has nothing to do with the murder case. She is definitively and permanently acquitted of that. This has to do with the remaining calunnia (defamation) conviction against her former boss, Patrick Lumumba. A new law in Italy allows even finalized cases to be annulled or retried when the European Court of Human Rights rules that a conviction was unfair due to civil right violations. The ECHR did this in 2019 when they ruled Knox's rights to a lawyer, an impartial interpreter, and the right to an investigation into her allegations of abuse during the interrogation were all violated.
    In the new trial, her statements taken illegally during the interrogation in which she signed statements saying Lumumba was involved will not be allowed. Thus, she has an excellent chance of having the calunnia conviction overturned and her record will be cleared. So stop hyperventilating and having a melt down.
    She does not have to go to Italy as this will be heard by the Supreme Court behind closed doors. Even if the conviction is upheld, she has already served the 3 year sentence so she is not facing any additional prison time or facing extradition. This is a GOOD thing!

  • @lucapostorino1963
    @lucapostorino1963 6 месяцев назад

    Knox slandered Lumuba. How else did he spend two weeks in prison suspected of murder. Knox was shown his name on her mobile, broke down and accused him.

    • @mytrip6991
      @mytrip6991 6 месяцев назад

      You've way oversimplified what happened. The police admitted they already believed Lumumba was involved as soon as they found her innocent text to him that they misinterpreted. Rita Ficarra, Knox's interrogator, admitted in court that she believed that text was a confirmation that Knox was supposed to meet Lumumba the night of the murder. The interpreter testified in court that Knox kept denying meeting Lumumba but she told her that she had "traumatic amnesia" and the she'd remember "the truth" if she just kept trying. They shoved the phone with the text in her face and kept saying she was lying. Within hours of her arrest, the Chief of Police announced to the press:
      "Initially the American gave a version of events we knew was not correct. She buckled and made an admission of facts we knew were correct and from that we were able to bring them in. They all participated but had different roles."
      So her 'version': being at her boyfriend's all night. The police "knew that was not correct"...HOW? No forensics had come back yet and no witness had place her or Raffaele outside Raffaele's apartment. But a witness DID place them at his apartment just 10 minutes before Meredith arrived home at 9:00 when she was attacked.
      "She buckled:" To buckle: "give way under a weight or force." People don't "buckle' unless under duress.
      "(She) made an admission of facts we knew were correct " But they WEREN'T correct, were they? She never met Lumumba or took him anywhere and he didn't kill Kercher. And the police and prosecutor said she was the one who slit Kercher's throat in the bedroom when Knox "buckled" and said she was only in the KITCHEN. And NO evidence of Knox was ever found in the bedroom while multiple evidence of Guede was found there.

      LOL! Right...because 8 years of legal bills is just so inexpensive! Lawyers, consulting experts, etc. all work for free, right? Why don't you moan about Rudy Guede who has a lie-filled, self-serving book out and who remains convicted of Kercher's murder, unlike Knox?

    • @TheTruthCalls
      @TheTruthCalls 2 месяца назад

      Amanda and her family lost a fortune having to defend her from false accusations. She wrote her book to get her side of the story out and to earn some money back so she could begin to pay her family back. She has every right to do that, seeing as she was a victim of this case.
      But what I notice you don't talk about are the dozens of people who have written books, made movies, etc., and made a lot of money from the case, when they had no reasonable justification for it except to make a profit. No word of condemnation for them, but the person who went into debt for millions due to false charges... she you have a problem with. I think your sense of right and wrong seems seriously flawed on this point.
