I think this phone specifically is the best designed Samsung phone in a very long time. I haven't disliked any recent designs, but this one is just perfect in both front and back
@@elhomo6406 The last phone that actually looks different is the S10+. From experience using the other phones, they feel and look exactly the same as the S22+ I currently have.
I really like that finally Samsung has bucked the trend for phones to be taller and thinner. The form-factor for these 22's is much-improved. I always put my phones in a case, so I prefer the plastic over the glass for weight savings, but, it's no big deal either way. I am in love with the regular 22 except for the battery.
The phones weigh the same, so the plastic is not saving you any weight. It's just cheaper looking and cheaper feeling. I'm glad Samsung listened to people's complaints about making their flagship line look and feel like a budget line. The return of the glass back is so refreshing.
I still miss my note 4. Always hated the tall skinny trend. As far as glass back....don't understand why anyone would want that. It breaks easier if uncased and with a case you never see it anyway. Wish they would make a ceramic back like the old htc one s? Had. Loved that.
@@JohnSmith-lc8mp exactly, what's the thing with glass? The only time I dropped my S7 without a case, the back broke instantly. Was a pain to get fixed and never had any trust putting it in water ever since. For people who use cases, like myself, since this is an expensive tool/fashion gadget, and it takes a lot of work to pay for, I'd rather have a glasstic back than a glass back.

Same, honestly this is the only reason why I don’t like the ultra and I switched to the iphone 13 pro max from the s21 ultra. Now I’m seriously thinking about switching back to this s22 plus cause it looks amazing
after holding and seeing both the S22 plus and Ultra today in the Samsung store, i can boldly say that I love the plus better and im going for it over the ultra dont mind what some youtubers who only want content say the truth is always different and very personal for everyone thanks for the review
I bought the ultra. Immediately it was clear I'd be returning it. It was way too big and unbalanced to hold. The s pen feels like a toy and, to me, is better suited for a tablet. Now I'm looking at the plus or keep using my great s9+ until next year.

Great video mate . it’s a pretty good phone by the look , and years ago we would all have killed to have a phones that did not lag and had a high refresh rate screens , decent cameras, , good speakers, ok software and the general features we probably take a bit for granted these days . However, that’s just it , most phones of today have all of these characteristics, it’s hard to buy a bad phone . And on that note , I still miss all the old features we used to get on every phone that on about 90% of handsets today WE NO LONGER GET , and by that a mean , the SD card , the 3.5 mm headphone jack , 2K display , the dedicated led notification light , plus all the accessories that always automatically came with the phones ………….. without the BS lame excuses they are doing it to be green , seriously what a load of bollocks ! I miss the old samsung pre razor gang . No sale.

Good phones the 9 series Emma , still using my note 9 , imo the pinnacle of all the galaxy notes as far as features went without any doubt , most disappointed the way sammy has removed long time features , downgraded some specs and removed nearly all the accessories.

If this is a 48 hour review why is it all you can say about the battery is "hopefully it lasts a full day"? Did you even test the battery? Is there an NDA against revealing battery performance that consumers should be concerned about?
Maybe he wants to use it over a number of days to gain a better average of battery life over actual usage and not go based on his first two days which was likely spent exploring things of note to review ?? Why is conspiracy your knee jerk reaction?
I think the S10 5g was the best Galaxy phone, had a 3.5 mm jack, had expandable storage, had WQHD+ Display had up to 1 TB storage, seeing the refresh rate I don't think it should make a huge difference, my S10 5g is still with me due to this reason.
I'm still using my S10+ and this is the first phone that's made me seriously consider upgrading, aside from no SD slot i don't really mind the features they've removed. As much as I'd love the Ultra it just feels too big for me (also I really don't need the Spen) and the standard S22 too small, 6.7 (or 6.6) is just perfect.
For me personally, 120hz on a phone is a absolutely worth it and is a deal breaker now. I understand that a lot of casual users don't really see a difference tho
@@dog8438 I'd agree to an extent, I love high refresh rate screens, I honestly can't use a desktop without a 120hz or higher screen, my monitor is clocked at 160hz. 60 seriously hurts my head tryna watch it 😂 but I won't complain about more hz in phone screens

The S21 Plus as a glass back not plastic. And the phantom silver still looks amazing. There really isn't much difference too justify spending another 500 too get an S22 plus so I'll Wait until the S23 next year.
I've been so torn between the standard S22 and the Plus. I thought I wanted the standard version, but when I saw and held it in person it was smaller than I thought. Reminds me more of the S10e than the S21 for instance. Was excited Samsung went back to glass from that awful plastic but I ended up going for the Plus anyway. The overall surface area of the standard S22 is technically even smaller than the S10e, believe it or not! I'm talking cubic mm (height x width x thickness). The S22 Plus meanwhile is the smallest overall Plus phone from Samsung since the S10 Plus.
I'm using a regular galaxy S7 currently, and to my surprise the base S22 model has nearly the exact same dimensions, but the screen fills in the entire bezel. I quite like this size honestly. I'm a medium-small sized person and can reach all four corners pretty easily.
@@ziionjsn I have had plenty of early plastic phones in the past mate , I prefer the glass , no doubt both materials have good and bad points , but while plastic may seem indestructible, it’s actually not, you can damage crack or split destroy anything if your clutzy enough (and I’ve done it I have that skill :(. ) , but no doubt it is more likely to survive a hard drop. Glass stiffens up the handset and the extra weight gives it feeling of substance and it does have a quality feel about it. Too each his own though.

I've long been a Samsung fanboy but I'm really leaning towards ditching them because of their own hypocrisy. Taking away so many features, and adding some that they mocked others, mainly Apple for. As it stands right now, convenience and the Secure Folder are my main pros. All I want and need is a modern device that is very similar to the S9+. To me that was the ultimate phone. Just move the physical fingerprint sensor to the side, hell I'd even except the underscreen one if it was good. Keep a horizontal camera array, LED notifications on front, a camera in the bezel/frame like Sony Xperia and a headphone jack with SD card support. Have options in size that aren't all gigantic, boom done.

Unfortunately I get the feeling that the smaller battery on the straight-22 is to guide people towards buying the 'plus'. It's a shame the 22 doesn't have the 4000 battery that the s21 had.

Samsung has changed the hz from 10 to 48hz as base and has revealed that its not LTPO,which is really bad considering many people preordered the phone.
What a beautiful phone, with a policy of supporting Android updates for up to 4 years, users will not worry about the outdated problem of the operating system.

Samsung Dex is so fuggin good to have as an optioin when you need it. I have not had a reason to use in in 3 years. BUT! 3 years ago when a snow storm destroyed all the internet connections underground around here, I relied on it or a few months until internet was restored. It was so convenient to have especially since my mobile plan at the time was unlimited and much faster than our 'high speed DSL' connection it was filling in for.
Everything is great about this phone except for two things, FHD display on an S-series and also on that price... You could say 'if the positives outweigh the negatives' but the negatives are literally midrange display the thing you see most of the time using a phone. I think jumping straight to Ultra would've been more of a 'bargain"
In italy.. This price also includes free Galaxy buds Pro and free 2 year subscription to Samsung Care+ and I guess it's similar almost everywhere.. So the price is not high compared to market
The pixels per inch of the screen is 393ppi. My s10 has 550 that's a big downgrade in screen sharpness and like you said the screen is the thing you're interacting with the most. It's just a bad move on Samsungs part and the main reason I wouldn't buy the thing. Screen resolution is Important to me

@@capt.heinrich6945 Funny, as someone who is coming from S8 and skipped all new versions I am choosing s21 s21+. Are considering s22 or s22+ or s22U? S21U S22U is like S8 to S9. I was waiting for them to settle in specs. S21 has more average battery with some problems and S22 has a smaller battery. S21+ S22+ S21U is where I believe where the value is at.
@@robertceron9056 Hey Robert. I'm someone who has owned the S8, S9 S20 FE and currently own the S21. Let's look at a few things to consider. You had your S8 for years so this means you must really like the phone. The S21 would be a great upgrade, now that the newer models are out the S21 will decrease in price. And even tho there are some very nice upgrades you'll lose the 1440p curved display and it's compact form factor, the S21 is a slim but tall phone not too tall but you'll notice the height difference. I also think there isn't too much of difference between 3,700mah and 4,000mah. I've seen battery test of the S10e slightly outlasting the S10 and the battery difference was 400mah. So battery life between the S22 and S21 will most likely be the same or the S22 might out last the S21 having a smaller screen and slightly more efficient chip.
I am currently using iPhone 11 and have been thinking about switching to Samsung Galaxy S22+ but the lack of charging brick and headphones is what's keeping me from making the switch.
This is the one I got. My friend got this in green upgraded from an S10 plus. They looked at me and was like wish you warned me there was no headphone jack
Been using the s8 since it came out and was excited for the s22 plus, but when it comes to the specs and battery I'm a little disappointed. I do prefer the s22 plus design and hardware over the s8 but, for me it's simply not worth the upgrade at this moment.
Broo, how do you call 800 in single core respectable? That's 2018 level. BTW, that's wrong, a lot of people have benchmarked the E2200 and it scores ~1200 and ~3600 in Geekbench 5, so basically the same as the Snapdragon.
All the reviewers I've watched said that they can't make a full review until Samsung pushes out their update close to launch. So there is probably some issues with software optimizations until then.
Oddly my S21 looks out of the box fresh and I've had it since launch and the frame and camera housing of my S22 are scratched and chipped. I've always used a case too which is strange. Anyways it was a bit disappointing.

I just got the 22+ for $559 usd. With $200 usd of samsung store credit. Got the wireless charger, Samsung buds2, and leather case free with the credit. Got $440 trade in for my s21.

S20 Ultra is best for you it has Micro SD slot and 120hz with WQHD+ and 5G and it has 6.9 inches the biggest phone ever

The ONE UI with that 120Hz is butter smooth on this S22+ is Satisfying to look at.
I don't know why, but everytime there's a new phone/gadget, this is one of the few channels i frequently visit to learn about the features quickly.

I've long been a Samsung fanboy but I'm really leaning towards ditching them because of their own hypocrisy. Taking away so many features, and adding some that they mocked others, mainly Apple for. As it stands right now, convenience and the Secure Folder are my main pros. All I want and need is a modern device that is very similar to the S9+. To me that was the ultimate phone. Just move the physical fingerprint sensor to the side, hell I'd even except the underscreen one if it was good. Keep a horizontal camera array, LED notifications on front, a camera in the bezel/frame like Sony Xperia and a headphone jack with SD card support. Have options in size that aren't all gigantic, boom done.
Looks good! Wondering how it compares to pixel 6 in terms of battery and camera. The standard s22 seems to small to me now that I have a s20fe!
I have the p6 Pro and it's software feels like it's still in beta testing, so laggy and jittery, cameras just OK

I watched a video of a 22 plus with the SD 888 and it heats better than the 21. It doesn't heat as fast
Great review, would love to see a followup after 30 days. All said and done i just can't see why i would pay the premium price for this over an S21fe.

Unfortunately I get the feeling that the smaller battery on the straight-22 is to guide people towards buying the 'plus'. It's a shame the 22 doesn't have the 4000 battery that the s21 had.
you re absolutely right , and they re absolutely stupid , the reason I personally wouldn t buy the plus is the size , I just don t like big phones . So if I want a regular size phone i have to deal with terrible battery life fuck samsung

S21+ has glass back. The difference îs that it has curved edges and it is a bit taller. Being smaller, at 157mm height, S22+ feels great in the hand.

Samsung Dex is so fuggin good to have as an optioin when you need it. I have not had a reason to use in in 3 years. BUT! 3 years ago when a snow storm destroyed all the internet connections underground around here, I relied on it or a few months until internet was restored. It was so convenient to have especially since my mobile plan at the time was unlimited and much faster than our 'high speed DSL' connection it was filling in for.

Everything is great about this phone except for two things, FHD display on an S-series and also on that price...
You could say 'if the positives outweigh the negatives' but the negatives are literally midrange display the thing you see most of the time using a phone. I think jumping straight to Ultra would've been more of a 'bargain"

In italy.. This price also includes free Galaxy buds Pro and free 2 year subscription to Samsung Care+ and I guess it's similar almost everywhere.. So the price is not high compared to market
The pixels per inch of the screen is 393ppi. My s10 has 550 that's a big downgrade in screen sharpness and like you said the screen is the thing you're interacting with the most. It's just a bad move on Samsungs part and the main reason I wouldn't buy the thing. Screen resolution is Important to me

Good idea, but for someone who has had an S10 for nearly 3 years , I think the S22 is finally a worthy upgrade

@@capt.heinrich6945 Funny, as someone who is coming from S8 and skipped all new versions I am choosing s21 s21+. Are considering s22 or s22+ or s22U? S21U S22U is like S8 to S9. I was waiting for them to settle in specs. S21 has more average battery with some problems and S22 has a smaller battery. S21+ S22+ S21U is where I believe where the value is at.
@@robertceron9056 Hey Robert. I'm someone who has owned the S8, S9 S20 FE and currently own the S21. Let's look at a few things to consider. You had your S8 for years so this means you must really like the phone. The S21 would be a great upgrade, now that the newer models are out the S21 will decrease in price. And even tho there are some very nice upgrades you'll lose the 1440p curved display and it's compact form factor, the S21 is a slim but tall phone not too tall but you'll notice the height difference. I also think there isn't too much of difference between 3,700mah and 4,000mah. I've seen battery test of the S10e slightly outlasting the S10 and the battery difference was 400mah. So battery life between the S22 and S21 will most likely be the same or the S22 might out last the S21 having a smaller screen and slightly more efficient chip.

Been using the s8 since it came out and was excited for the s22 plus, but when it comes to the specs and battery I'm a little disappointed. I do prefer the s22 plus design and hardware over the s8 but, for me it's simply not worth the upgrade at this moment.

Broo, how do you call 800 in single core respectable? That's 2018 level. BTW, that's wrong, a lot of people have benchmarked the E2200 and it scores ~1200 and ~3600 in Geekbench 5, so basically the same as the Snapdragon.
All the reviewers I've watched said that they can't make a full review until Samsung pushes out their update close to launch. So there is probably some issues with software optimizations until then.

Oddly my S21 looks out of the box fresh and I've had it since launch and the frame and camera housing of my S22 are scratched and chipped. I've always used a case too which is strange. Anyways it was a bit disappointing.
