Thanks so much. I am also looking forward to #3. I have purchased some out of production Sunrise Enterprises search light signal kits and am at the stage of purchasing the LED and then installing the LED in the signal head. John

@@ChicagoSubNScale Indeed, I have several of their products, but I will need to order a good bunch of these signal kits ,instead of making my own (although nice ,too much work)

Nice job, doesn’t seem so bad after all!

I just get frustrated handling those tiny parts! I’ll give them a shot though

What with all the alternatively-sized pieces in there, how many signal units could you build from one of these kits?

It’s one signal per kit, but you might have parts left over - ie. if you do a single head signal you’ll have a spare head and bracket left over, but you won’t have a full mast or ladder.

I could never do this. My eyes are not equipped for such work. I do not have the skills to do this. How can I get these type of signals already assembled and ready to use. I am so frustrated.

I didn’t think I had the skills either, but it was easier than I thought! However, do agree about the eyes part…a good magnifier helps! I think Showcase offer a build service, but they don’t sell them pre-assembled. Contact them and see if they can help, otherwise you can always contract another modeller to build them for you. It won’t be cheap though…

Thank you. Somethings are worth spending money for especially if it is going to be useful and a good use of time. Oh how I wish BLMA had been able to deliver on its N scale signals.

@@1babysag totally agree! I spoke to Craig Martyn about it and he just wasn't happy with the quality of the fine details he wanted. He so wanted to do N scale, as he is an N scale modeller himself, but he didn't want to put out an inferior product

Oh! How cheap do you have to be to need/want to build these signals? Model railroading should be a fun hobby, not a nitemare. Showcase Miniatures ought to pay people to assemble and use these things. You would be better off to paste a pic of a signal on your layout than to have to engage in this nitemare just because you had the audacity to want signals on your layout.

Each to their own…many people enjoy building models, structures, signals. If you wanted these signals fully constructed they would cost at least double the price! Unfortunately in N scale we don’t have much choice of buying fully constructed signals. I know you’ll find it strange, but I had fun building these signals. No nightmare involved. If you don’t want signals, don’t bother. But at least this gives a choice to the many who do want signals on their layouts
