@@Marky1886Shirts No one ever thinks of football when they think of Slough. Gets a bad rep since it's a new town for the London overspill, has high crime and an ethnic minority majority population. It was the setting for the UK version of the Office and the poem has the line "Come friendly bombs fall on Slough", which says everything you need to know about the town. I follow a Japanese street busking channel who travels around areas of the UK and one of them was Slough. Became fascinated with the place and wanted to learn more. It's a bit of a concrete jungle, reminds me a bit of Basildon or East Kilbride. When you look into it, Slough is really like any other town in Britain and a lot, a lot more affordable than London. Better housing, good schools, lots of good food options. I would rather live there than a London borough to say the least.
It's a large place and highly underrated imo. Realized they had a non-league club and started watching them during lockdown back in 2021 and have watched every game since. Slough Town were in a limbo of bad finances and relegation limbo but the fans got together to bring them to their new stadium. It's odd because I have grown a passion to a town and club I have absolutely zero connection with. I live all the way up in the northeast coast of Scotland, knew nothing about the town. Now I'm making plans to visit Arbour Park in the Summer for pre-season. Nice modern stadium, only gripe is it's a little on the small side with just 2,000 capacity. But I'm sure it will grow with time. This is what football is about: locally-owned and supported teams, not money.
Smiv did a great video on us a few years ago. We knocked Millwall out the FA Cup way back, held Grimsby to a draw recently too. 10th in the league with a solid squad. Proud to be a Slough fan, 'mon the Rebels.

As a Brit in Germany you couldn't be further from the truth. Very, very different footy cultures in almost every way possible. Ellis even pointed a few of them out. Simlarities pretty much end after attendance sizes and willingness to consume beer (not even consumption of beer, due to English laws). Sweden, Denmark and of course Scotland are the closest footballing experiences to England I've experienced, and I've watched games in most Euro nations.

Many thanks to both of you for coming all the way down to our club in the fifth division and for eating properly!
I heard that the food in England is a bit problematic? No, joke! 😆
You can also eat well in England. I love the brown sauce and Fish and Chips.
But it's nice that you were in Reutlingen! Thanks! 😘

Szene E is a good ulra group. They had some rough years because the decline of the club. Also their biggest rivals all got promoted. Hard times for the lads.

Maybe once a year you should gather all your mates and do football challenges/trivia and the winner at the end gets to choose the match you all go to.
