@@ali_baba_abi5457it’s just safer to assume king of demons to have more than one blood demon art. So they considered mid range first approach would be the safest probably. And they also know muzan was gonna be immobilized at least in melee range so they just assumed he’ll unleash some sort of range attack. And gyomei weapon choice is really good at retaliating against mid range attacks.

I think another reason is no other hashira could make a surprise attack from distance except gyomei. Getting too close to muzan means instant death.
And there’s also the fact that he has range with his weapon and wouldn’t need to get nearly as close to muzan as others except for mitsuri
