- XDefiant has lost a significant amount of concurrent players since launch. While this is common in every game within a certain period of time, XDefiant's player count seems to have dropped so significantly in a short period of time, that people on social media are suggesting that the game is already dead.
The bunny hopping and annoying snipers mixed with the bad net code is slowly killing this game. The casuals are leaving this game.
The snipers were what killed it for me. It was so annoying getting instantly killed by people you dump a magazine on.

The biggest issue with issues plaguing the game is the bugs, lack of content, and the damn net code

I just un-installed last night. Early on, I was hopeful about having a CoD alternative, but I can't get past the desync. Holy shit is it bad! Dying full seconds after I'm behind cover is not fun. Having it happen over and over in a single game is rage inducing. I can understand it in large map combat games like Warzone, where the tick rate is low to keep performance acceptable for low-mid tier rigs but in small map 6v6. How is it possible to screw it up this bad?
I may try it again in a season or two to see if the devs have managed to work out the kinks but as it stands, this game feels worse to play than CoD on all levels other than TTK, which is the one thing it got right.
i wouldnt say lack of content. it's their first season and idk what people expect in terms of said content. it's an arena shooter. the net code is the main isssue. getting killed well passed the corner is even worse now.
The lack of content argument is probably because of how that content is distributed. It's not engaging at all. Doesn't help the fact that playing "for fun" will leave you scratching your head thinking what the hell is happening because of netcode and ttk being very inconsistent. @MrAlaverge1

I stopped playing. It just got old fast for me. With COD I can go from playing zombies to multiplayer to Warzone to DMZ to campaign to plunder to rebirth. I’m not a cod shill but at least cod has game modes to choose from. I can’t play cod multiplayer day after day either.

The Netcode issue got drastically worse after the season 1 update. Had 12 friends who played a majority of the pre season have all quit due to update destroying the game. Nobody wants to get told off by the devs when you tell them their game I broken.
In my opinion XDefiant feels like a worse Black Ops 4.
in my opinion they don’t fix bugs fast enough. For example the Echelon intel suit ability is not working properly for 14 days now. That’s not acceptable. Of course it will be fixed sometime.
From the second this game released there have been nonstop demands for more content AND bug fixes. People cried for tdm, they cried for a nerf to bhopping, they still are crying for search and destroy, they cried for ranked mode, they cried for hit reg bug, ability bug etc. Doesn't matter what they do, yall gonna keep whining and complaining about what you still don't have.

No the games just not good lol. Shit load of bugs. No balance. The factions and abilities are just an awful idea and it’s a big part of the game. It was overhyped to start with and was only hyped up because it didn’t have SBMM. Games bad lol.

That was a thing from the beta, it's actually far less effective now. I agree the movement is still exploitable, but it's not just the jumps, it's bobbing as well.

Build for ttk ads speed. You’re not forced to do anything. You just haven’t discovered all of the optimal builds.

XDefiant did not listen to it's community. They didn't do anything to lessen the amount of bunny hopping. The ttk should also be lowered
This game is kinda dead. I love this game but I see a significant increase in queue times for all modes except TDM. I wish that they would implement a system where if you don't have enough players to fill the lobby for 3 mins or so, then the match will be forced to start with less players. What do you think?
mixed feelings. it can be boring with too many players missing in a match and running around not finding people and pace slowing down
1. Games take way too long to get into even during “peak times”
2. Netcode
3. Spider bot
4. Nothing unique to enjoy
5. Some things are basically uncounterable (don’t think this matters until s&d where your one life matters)
6. Ranked was immediately awful
7. Graphics are mediocre
8. Jump speed/distance is way too much. I like movement ceilings but not when it’s uncounterable without aimbot. It’s mostly uncounterable due to SOUND tho
9. Sound in this game is the worse I’ve ever seen by far
That’s a lot of I’d say “notable” issues to be noticed so fast. And I think on top of this all, which is actually big for me personally, is the lack of fun cosmetics.
The skins are horrible, boring, no thought in them, nothing. No VFX, no effects in general. That’s kinda what makes COD feel modern. Some people don’t care for it, a lot of people do; that’s why they sell. VFX and other effects make getting kills more satisfying, or playing in general more satisfying. People would be ignorant to say that they don’t matter a lot, considering games like Valorant almost feel disgusting without skins.
And relevance matters, too. So if the game starts to die off, it’ll just escalate more and more like a domino effect.
Pros:
1. Most maps are great. Versus most COD maps are horrible
2. Game doesn’t punish rushing and hard reward camping.
3. No SBMM has made it a consistently fun game
4. Progression is really easy in this game, so you can get your nice gold camo in like 5 hours or less with 2x coupons.
5. Game is arguably more skillful and less degenerate
I’m consistently less upset in this game, so I’m gonna continue playing it instead of buying MW3/BO6. I’ve tried MW2 recently and realized how bad the camping is and the map designs are. Plus SBMM makes it inconsistently fun.
Oh also forgot that there’s numerous bugs like abilities not being usable.
The way content is drop is definitely not helping. Yes if you grind like cray it might not have been as big of an issue. But it will take you time, and if your playing to win and not sacrificing your treat to grind faster then it can take some weeks to get the new operator, the same applies to the weapons, then remember the maps come per month. Yes their is content season 1, but it is super drip fed and I don’t blame players for being a bit frustrated that their feels like nothing has changed when the new stuff could be weeks or more delayed.
They need to make sure that they don't add anymore bugs and NERF THAT 8 LEGGED BUGGER!
You will never see an ps logo because they are forced to login as ubisoft connect even on ps platform. Also I said my opinion on your poll but I believe the concurrent player count would be between 25k to 35k at least on pc. If you include all platform probably close to 50k but not more than that. The viewership and engagement online is very low to even have hopes for more players
Not how that works in the slightest. You’re way off base. First, you can check the player count by data mining the servers that host XDefiant. There’s 641k people online at this very second. Using viewers as an analytic doesn’t work because different platforms garner different levels of viewership and that is set apart from a games playerbase. For example. No one is watching left for dead. Yet the game has 40k players on steam rn. Cod has 2k viewers on multiplayer. Yet the game averages 300k daily players (this doesn’t include warzone). XDefiant has 4K viewers on average on twitch. XDefiant is one of those games that’s just more enjoyable to play than to watch.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the console player base is always much larger than the PC playerbase. Apex has 150kish players on steam rn. Yet averages over 1.2 million alone on consoles at the moment. Fortnite averages 2 million console players while having around 600k on PC. Some food for thought.
You can't even complete community challenges now with the low player count.
Player count will determine allocation to focus, if it dwindles it may fallout
But if it does, they will learn and grow the next title better 🤷🏽♂️
The problem I have that sometimes keeps me away from XDefiant are the people playing objective modes and don't play the objective. They're not aggressors to hold the other team away from the OBJ and they're not supporters capturing the OBJ. They're there just to be there just and throw the game. Even with the addition of TDM (I believe the game wasn't made for it), these players still feel the need to part in modes that are not for them.
I stopped playing, after more than 100h spent because after all this amount of time I still couldn't enjoy enough.
Soon this game is just going to be full of sweats and whales and then the sweats are going to complain that the game has gotten harder and accuse UBI of putting SBMM back into the game because all the sweats will only be playing each other and then they will quit too...Because..."Skill Issue"...LMAO
you know how it is FPS multiplayer is where sweats and whales need to vent with their ''Locker Room Talk" also there not Drone,summoning packs of dogs or using a nuke
As games get older sweats leave. They are impatient.
As long as they keep the content fresh It'll remain steady. A power move right now would be s&d and a prestige system.
A power move would be making abilities work consistently.

I've paid money for games that had bugs that LITERALLY prevented the game from operating at all and couldn't be finished. There have been games that released with a completely non working multiplayer, and there are games who barely have any content to offer whatsoever and it's almost strictly microtransactions. This game functions, and plays just fine about 80% of the time, and the other 20% is still viable it just has a few annoying bugs. The fucking game is far from broken stop repeating the same shit over and over again, and stop taking the stupid pills.

As a person over level 100 i believe this is true because since the beginning you never noticed anyone over lvl 50 and it's rare to see other lvl 100 players. If the game really kept players i'd see a variety in levels but it's like I'm playing with people who started playing this game for a week

The game feels like one of those fake games you see on TV shows. It's hard to explain but it's like some TV producer needed a legally distinct Not COD for a show.

Not gonna lie, this is really sad to hear… I uninstalled the game because I’m just not having fun. I also really hope that the game makes a comeback but, the one thing that kind of makes me feel like it won’t have a comeback… Is I don’t know if people remember, but ubisoft literally killed hyperscape because the devs were not listening to their community. it was one of my favorite games ever, I hope that they learned from their mistakes!

Idk how either, I’ve never had an issue finding a game. I will say I’ve had issues with netcode and once in a while I’ll get booted but that’s it.
They need to fix the issues with the game and add some content. I'm not complaining, I'm patiently waiting. But they're running a live service game that requires certain things to retain the majority playerbase. Today is the first day I've woken up and said hey let me wait a while for the next update before jumping on, and that's fine, I'll be here for it
It just aggravates me how people wont give the developers time to work on this game. But theyll suck off cod every year. Remember when mw2 launched and didnt have barracks, leaderboards, combat record, no hardcore mode, NO CHALLENGES and NO AFTER ACTION REPORT? Mw3 comes out with a 2 hour campaign and yall will still throw $70 at it each year. But they dont wanna let the developers get the time to fix this FREE game. Xdefiant just isn't that good. It has nothing to do with COD really. Either way doesn't matter to me, best FPS of this generation is already here, you guys should quit complaining long enough to give it a shot. The finals is where it's at.
@@jordankelly4684L take. XDefiant is three times the game the finals is and it’s not even close. The finals died after a week. XDefiant is still going strong at 730k daily players on average while the finals can’t even bring in 15k on steam. The finals has never been a top 10 game either while XDefiant is still holding the tenth spot.
I know about 5 or 6 people that stopped playing and NONE of what you said is why they stopped. The most common reason they gave for stopping is people jumping around everywhere and the overall movement speed being way too fast. The other being that they felt like they had to hit people with way more bullets than they had to be hit with to go down.
You can say The Finals doesn't have a ton of modes etc. but what it does have is style, polish, and charm. Those things go really far in a game in a highly competitive space like FPS games. The skins on The Finals are the best skins I've seen in an FPS game hands down. The destruction is unique. Your bullets hit what you're aiming at for the most part.
@@pavmx703hitreg I understand but movement...it's a game where the core aspect of the game is movement. It's like me complaining about gears of war because everyone abuses wall bouncing. Wall bouncing is THE CORE ASPECT of gears of war. Otherwise it'd be a very slow paced cover shooter. Just xdefiant would be a very slow paced fps game.
If they fix ranked ill be back but playing games with 8 shield players every game is just so boring.
You probably have IBMM on, this would explain only seeing Ubisoft Connect. Although, I think that entire functionality is kinda messed up. When I enter as a controller player all users show up as MnK, then the icons change to controller, but if I enter MnK the icons are immediately mice, seems fishy, but really, who cares. All I want is improved hit detection.

Still a lot to fix this game for sure. Playing on PS5 is still ASS, Hit Reg is still broken (just make the game fair for all) as it can take 15 to 20 shots to kill someone and then you get killed within 4 to 5 shots !! Make playing the Objective worth it by adding Weapon and Battlepass XP to the game by doing the objectives so ALL PLAYERS hopefully play the games as they should be played. Casual players are getting bored with the grind and lack of progression. NEW WEAPONS are far to deep into the battlepass and casual players will take weeks and months to unlock them. Got to keep players interested before Black Ops 6 drops for sure.

the finals is a game made for competitive and its very bad in that way. xdefaint is made more for casuals but has big problems with bugs but bc its made for casual it will always be bigger than finals (not that hard still not many players)

game had potential for me but thigns that bothered me were eveyrone just spamming the jump key when they shoot, the instant respawns made dying feel pointless, and the maps that were too small.
Ngl I don't even play anymore but I'm glad it is, all the X fans were so worried about cod that it was going to die and X was gona be the best gake ever , they deserve it 😂 instead of just playing there game and enjoying it
It’s dying. The weapon grind was insane. Over monetized. DEI infested. I had fun but I’ll never touch it again. Way too slow to update. One map a season? Get real…

The real problem is the generation of kids. They all sweat like they are gonna be on faze. Dwindling player count means casuals aren’t playing, then the sweats will just switch to the next trendy game in hopes they get 50 viewers on twitch. So we gotta wait for the sweats to leave

I think a very big issue for games is how we talk about them nowdays. As soon as a game drops in interest, the media is flooded with "This game is dead" videos, posts and comments. That kills games because no new players wanna start playing a game that's already "dead", and players aren't gonna return when all they hear is the same thing.
I've watched the same guys say this about every game. It's childish dorks...

At this point it just depends how fast devs can fix netcode and the numerous bugs happening in game and ranked, and can the player base be patient.
Them coming out with this game, and then going a full 2 months with still no faction restriction is just mind blowing. Doesn’t allow me to have much faith in it

You have a good voice for commentary. Pretty much whatever you decide to play will be successful. The timing of your uploads with the short-term popularity of XDefiant was a nice spark for viewership. Could make that work for other stuff for sure.
As soon as the bugs are fixed I'll be back. Haven't touched it since season 1. They dropped the ball and the time it's taken to fix it has killed the momentum.

I'm not sure what game yall are playing. Sure the net code is annoying SOMETIMES but I get matches no problem. Kill bunny hoppers and crouchers no problem. I post videos weekly for xdefiant. It's a new game with not a lot of people making content YET. Xdefiant is in season 1. Give it time to grow.
That being said it doesnt still need work but what game recently hasnt? I think the biggest issue they have rn is ranked.
As a player around level 100. I wanna see a change to the meta weapons. The bugs and everything are rough but I can’t stand seeing the same weapons over and over again when I’m trying to camo grind.

Have still played daily, have dropped off a lot... Hackers, bad net code, abilities being broken... I think they are my top 3 but there is so much more wrong right now. I will be back later, if it's still here. Off to finish a few SP games till then.
More maps and content would help a little in the short term, but fixing game breaking bugs and combating cheaters is by far the biggest impactful move they can make, and the latter is the most difficult. Being an F2P game they are pushing the proverbial uphill.
Don't get it twisted though, it is possible to cheat on consoles. I won't give specifics (makes it easy for potential cheaters), but this needs to be combated on all fronts.
So many issues pre and post season patch still unaddressed, but they love jamming their worthless battlepass in everyone's faces. Ubisoft does not and will never care so long as the worst people keep thinking this the closest game there is to "old cod".

Not for me, I'm still enjoying the shit out of this game. The most people who quitt did it cuz of not having sbmm protection what held their hands for 5 years. Already done with it it’s only selling point was no SBMM and I’ve been falsely banned 4 times…. What’s the point of no SBMM if every ass player reports me bc they think I’m cheating then I can’t play for a few days just to get the “sorry for false ban happy playing” email BS 4-7 days later when they unban me. There’s no point getting into the game let alone spending money if I can’t play the game randomly or eventually losing my account bc i keep getting falsely banned
I really like this game!! but I stop playing the netcode, the hit reg and the servers are really bad!! impossible to play several games in a row in good conditions.. it's a shame I really like this game but it's slowly dying because of these problems in my opinion
Taking 2 or 3 real minuts to find a lobby in a new video games is terrible, even if it's true that their is too many different mods. But from day to day i'm use to see some common pseudo, that never happened in Apex for example.

bunny hopping/crouch spam, thats a controversial one but i still believe it is a problem, and not because it doesnt take skill to do, but simply because in order to do it properly you have to either have a scuf controller or be on mouse and keyboard, if youre on mouse and keyboard or a scuf and have an issue with these things thats a skill issue on your part, nothing wrong with it but you just gotta get better at the game is all, the more time you play the better youll get, doing it properly isnt easy. its not just spamming 1 button over and over again lol but if youre a casual on a controller most likely you dont have a scuff and youre probably using the OG COD button layout, meaning that you have to choose between aiming and jumping/crouching, most casuals in this situation arent going to go spend hundreds of dollars on a scuf just to play xdefiant better. and its a real problem and most people overlook this aspect of it. and i for one fully believe that an input device should never determine wether you win or lose a gun battle (unless your controller is broken in which case go buy a new one lol) and in this situation it definitely has a significant impact on the outcome. also i have noticed that when i bunny hop/crouch spam against players that arent doing it to me a lot of them tend to back out, so i only use such tactics when its being done to me. because i only need it when its being used against me as the only consistent way to counter these things is to do it back, jumping and crouching messes with the hit box, and makes you a much much harder target to hit so aim itself isnt always the solution especially against someone who is a solid player, if a lobby isnt jumping and crouching all over the map in every gun battle and i dont do it either i do just as good without doing it as i would doing it. its really not a necessary part of the game that should be sticking around. it should be removed from the game entirely. just to make it balanced regardless of what input device youre using.
hit reg and net code, well it stinks right now... its being worked on by the devs but fixes to stuff like this arent gonna be in an overnight patch and its gonna be a while before we see anything really happen with this. and id rather they take their time and get it right the first time personally.
the rate at which content is being released is kinda slow, its to be expected being a free to play game and because of the fact that content doesnt just get created overnight, it takes time but again regardless of that it is a problem, the game is kinda stale.
the weapon masteries are intense, getting your guns to level 400 takes a LONG time, too long. it was fine when we had double xp every weekend but now that we arent getting that it is a daunting process, and not a lot of players have many of the new titanium masteries for their guns, i dont see it in every game or even in every other game, that tells me the grind is too much. there are a few out there that got them but for the most part its just people with either bronze/silver/gold or battle pass skins or no skin at all. they need to at least shave a quarter off the top of the xp totals you need to level up or release double xp weekends every weekend again to fix this.

Like Mark Ruben said, the engine was not meant for FPS only mmo rpgs, they had to start from scratch to make it work for FPS, they are still working things out. I still enjoy the game, but the dying around corners is stil bad if not worse than ever before
According to player auctions there were over 1million players today. The count has been steadily going up over the last 30 days. The cod cry babies might leave and go back where they are protected but OG fps players are going to stay.

The reason you may no see many console players on PC lobbies is because we, turn off crossplay to avoid cheaters.
I play on PC, and trust me, I hate cheaters as well. 😂 I definitely feel it. Problem is, they're coming out with cheats for consoles now, so you're not even safe doing that, sad to say.

This game has more bugs than a roach infested house. There is a lack of content, and the net code is awful. I truly hate cheaters and operators skills make the game suck.
Mark Rubin and a former cod pro would not have overlooked releasing bomb to the point of pushing development forward because of the outcry from the community.
They said year 1 content was already worked on, and they're actively working on year 2 content. If that's the case, then how is bomb still being worked on?? Even if Mark overlooked bomb, he wouldn't have overlooked it to the point of it being year 2 content.

Personally, I've been playing mostly (90%) Domination and I still get lobbies within a few/several seconds every single time. I do sometimes see someone I recognize from the previous match in the following match, but usually I never see them again. There are still plenty of players. Idk where these people are getting this notion that the game is dead.

I was doing really good doing the objective and getting positive k/d but now all of the sudden it got more sweaty and now i can barely move around without getting one tapped i dont get it its like the game fliped upside down
Game is boring. Net code is not as big of an issue as a lack of diversity. Guns are not balanced, everyone using the same guns. Just look at pro player games and it’s all the same weapons.

Xdefiant on PS5 never show Xbox logo. They just show ubisoft logo for other platform.

With cross play turned off I struggle to get into lobbies. In order for me to get into a lobby with cross play on it only takes a few seconds. I play on PS5. A week into the launch with cross play off it was easy and quick to get into lobbies but I can definitely say people left based on how long it takes me to get into a lobby.
As far as the logo goes it will always show the Ubisoft logo at least if your on PC even if that player is on PS or Xbox and how I know this is it always shows the Ubisoft logo and I got a friend request from a guy then I checked his profile and he was on PS but the logo it showed in the lobby was Ubisoft.

Net code didn't kill it. It's a problem, but it is quite literally better than you give it credit. I've played fps games for 13 years, and this isn't the worst there was to offer. Not even close.

XDefiant will be fine, they better fix the net code quickly tho. I believe the First Descendant has taken a lot of the attention away. I played every day since it dropped but the net code has caused me to not play these last two days. I also think ppl are taking this to the extreme by saying the game will be dead, it's too much fun to just be dead and BO6 will have sbmm and nobody has time for that.

Honestly, I keep playing cause the guns feel good. I stopped playing cause of the lack of content, lack of fixes, netcode frustrations. I have 10 ping consistently, why the fuck are my shots not registering? But the enemy with 70 ping that started shooting 10 years after I did gets the kill? Wtf. Also, genuinely not sure, but I think I found a bug last night, I was killed at full health by a single melee attack. Whats the deal here? Just popped health, ran in with a shotgun, in their face, pulled the trigger, and somehow, before the gun fires, that guys melee one shots me
Tbh i think alot of people are tired of streamers especially with how over saturated it is now and when i did watch them every now and then i watched them play games i normally didnt play so i dont thimk streaming numbers really matter but who knows

Yeah I play on PC and I run it into the same people all the time for me. I don't really complain about it because you know it doesn't affect the gameplay. But yeah this game does not have a lot of players. I think it's sub 15K even after season one dropped. The player account is probably around $1,000

xd is way down the lists for twitch streams and once ppl stop streaming it the buzz and hype starts to leave and it depends on what list you look at as xd is at 7th in one list and not even in the top 10 in other lists.
There aren't enough game modes. Free or not, new IP or not, you need more in a base game. I absolutely love the game and their values, but there simply isn't enough ACTUAL content
Ubiturd messed this game up bad, they made the biggest mistake using an mmo engine rather than fps engine
yeah it’s fun in its own right and definitely does some things better than COD but lack of content is a big deal and also the only real content or anything to go for is camos which literally take days at the minimum for me to finish🤦♂️ i get they want player time up and all that but making us slave for a good skin is crazy, even with the long winded challenges for stuff in COD feel short compared to this games “progression”
Now I’m going back I state something in my opinion xd to me is an ok game it’s not great but it’s ok but I’m running in to the same sweats now I’m not the best at fps games like how I used to be sure I’ll admit that but man to me the sweats in this game are no different to me how they are on cod I dislike sbmm or whatever just like everyone else but sure it’s not in this game but fuck man it feels like it is with my match making so to me personally the match making feels no different than cod to me when it comes to match making
