I wish I had room for a full size spinning wheel. I have ordered an EEW 2 nano to see how I get on with it. I love using a drop spindle but it's hard on my old hands and oh so very slow. I might be able to eventually find space for the smallest Ashford castle style if I want to continue. We'll see. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Bernadette has a wheel in the workroom now; no videos on it, but you can’t miss the spinning wheel next to the Victorian treadle sewing machine. I vastly improved my hand sewing because of Bernadette, her rabbit hole is a really lux one. And I get three wheels, I have five sewing machines. They do very different things. 😃✨
Funny, how an injury led me down the spinning rabbit hole as well. I couldn’t do my beloved lace knitting as I needed to change positions too often and alternate sitting, standing and lying down. I missed my fibre! A friend of mine suggested spinning. A new passion was born… that was August 2023. Almost a year now… If I had the room and could treadle, I’d be trawling Marktplaats and Tweedehands for spinning wheels. I’m diligently working on regaining leg strength and nerve function. Maybe one day… until then, it’s an e-spinner and spindles.
I'm working on leg strength (ankle) and proprioception right now. But luckily in my left leg, so I can still treadle all I want because that's my right leg :D
@@MijnWolden - Good luck with the ankle exercises! No fun at times, but they do help a lot! Some added vitamin B complex to assist in healing any potential nerve damage might be a good idea too! (Born with hypermobile joints, tendons and ligaments, which means injuries are familiar territory!)
Who’s the little tiny one in the back 👀 only for decoration? I don’t have much experience with Irish tension, I’ve only used it once on my friends wheel. It scares me! I have three wheels too, but they do double drive and/or scotch tension!! I went the god naming route, Hestia (my first), Mokosh (second, Slavic goddess), and Chris (my travel wheel, st Christopher, patron saint of travellers) 😂
The Tiny one is indeed for decoration. I saw her at the thrift store and couldn't just leave her there 😁 Irish tension is nothing to be scared about though! I find it easier than the double drive I started on. What cool and creative names you named your Wheels!
I just found your channel 😊 and have been binge watching your videos 🤓 They’re so good ❤ I started spinning in May this year and was able to score a louet wheel on eBay!
I know it goes against the rules of not picking favourites... But which of them is your favourite? 😂 They're all so beautiful, and the fact you are the first spinner of an '80s wheel is incredible really! Thanks for showing them off ❤️
Right now I'm gravitating the most towards Jillian. Probably because she is so new and thus Spins the smoothest. I use Bernadette the least, because she makes a lot of noise and I spin a lot while watching television. But Rachel is also in need of repair right now (she's been spun so much her flyer hooks have ridges in them and the yarn catches on those). So when she's fixed (hooks are ordered) I think she's equally loved and used as Jillian 😋
@@MijnWolden very cool! 😍 My Ashford Kiwi 2 was squeaking quite badly recently and I couldn't hear the TV over it too, it's so annoying isn't it? Not as relaxing when it's so loud haha.
Bernadette's treadle and footman connector make a hard slapping noice, so yeah, that's annoying. I almost bought a Kiwi 2 as well, but then Rachel came into my life unexpectedly 😁
Yeah, I was really intrigued by the double treadles! Both Rachel and Jillian are workhorses too, but maybe one day I'll add a double treadle wheel to the herd, just because I'm really curious to how that motion feels.
Thanks for sharing! You have learned and accomplished so much in such a short time! Also, love your skirt!
Thank you 🥰
I love all of them. You've got a little family now. They 're all a bit different so of course you need them all.
You get it 😁
RUclips is how I fell down the rabbit hole too!😁
Yay for RUclips rabbitholes!

I've recently been enjoying a support spindle in the evenings, I Grab for that much Faster than my drop spindles.
@@MijnWolden Thanks. That's worth a try.

I know! I'm so eagerly awaiting a spinning project from her!

She's pretty, isn't she? 😁
