@@anacowa221 It should have been decided around 1970s when illegal immigration started to become a problem. The reason it was never addressed is because of the cheap labor. when the civil rights got passed the country became very enticing to foreigners to come in illegally. I sure hope this gets resolved under TRUMP presidency. Yes the language of the 14th amendment is a little vague but Anyone who studies history understands this was meant for freed black slaves and native american indians who had no country. The kids born inside the USA from parents who are both illegally here have a country .... the country of their parents.

Dumbass the USSC doesnt decide this matter.
An amendment to the U.S. Constitution is a formal process outlined in Article V of the Constitution. It involves two major steps: proposal and ratification. Here's how it works:
      1. Proposal
An amendment can be proposed in one of two ways:
By Congress: A proposed amendment must be approved by a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
By a Constitutional Convention: This method requires two-thirds (34 out of 50) of state legislatures to call for a national constitutional convention. This method has never been used.
      2. Ratification
Once proposed, the amendment must be ratified in one of two ways:
By State Legislatures: Three-fourths (38 out of 50) of state legislatures must approve the amendment.
By State Conventions: Special conventions in three-fourths of the states must approve it. This method has only been used once, for the 21st Amendment (which repealed Prohibition).
      Finalization
Once the amendment is ratified by the required number of states, it becomes part of the Constitution.
This process ensures that amendments are carefully considered and require broad national and state-level support to be adopted.

The debate around ending birthright citizenship reveals a deeper issue: how children born to non-citizens may be treated without the protection of automatic citizenship. Eliminating this right risks creating a marginalised underclass, leaving children vulnerable to statelessness, systemic discrimination, and inequality. This isn’t just a legal matter-it’s about valuing human dignity and fairness. Such a shift could foster social instability and reinforce divisive attitudes toward immigrants and their families.

To all of you who agree with this, this is what I say to you. Put a sign up in your yard saying that anyone who can jump your fence, come into your yard illegally, and give birth, you will pay to support them and their baby 100%. Because as a taxpayer, I don't want to pay for it and I don't want my kids and grandkids paying for it. Someone who breaks the law to come here is a criminal. I should not have to pay taxes to support any criminal, period. And you people have no right telling me I should.
If you are here legally, then you have nothing to worry about. If your a good person, pay taxes, contribute to society and respect America, then having a baby here can only add another good thing to you getting permanent citizenship.
    It's common freaking sense people.
Don't be dumb! Love this country and respect the tax paying citizens.
