- Do you have a dream? I have many, but one is to race the Mini Transat. It's a race from France to the Carribean on open 6.5 meters sailing boats.
To get on the start line I need a boat, time and a space to train, prepare the boat and participate into the qualification races. It's called a campaign, and I need to finance it. I you or if you know someone who is interested in sponsoring me for that race, drop me any idea or contact to thesailingfrenchman@gmail.com
Before this, my dream was to cross the Atlantic with my boat, so I refitted my 26ft sail boat, grabbed a few friends and casted off.
Once this done, why not carry on and sail around the world racing (cause cruising is too slow), so I got a job as first mate on the Clipper Round the World Race. We doing good so far, ranking second overall, so the Mini Transat seems like a good evolution for me.

Hi man! I just had to scroll back to this video after reading about: class globe 5.80
It is meant to be like the mini Transat but instead of very expensive boats it is in DIY plywood boats with plans costing about 300 Euro's.
I seen all your video's and you definitely have the skill for this both in sailing and boatbuilding.
Look into it if you have a moment's time.

Saw the finish of the Figaro in L'aber Vrach in 2008. Is it that kind of boat? Awesome.
Different boat! The Solitaire du Figaro is sailed on the single design class Figaro 3 right now, while the Mini Transat is sailed on Mini 6.50 boats. 6.50 is the length of the boat in meters, so approx 21 feet!

Mec trop cool la mini transat. J'était au départ de la mini en 1997,un super souvenir de voir toute ses petites bombe sur l'eau, j'était gamin à l'époque et on avait rencontré Ellen MaCarthur, Thomas COVILLE qui n'avait pas fait tout ce qui a suivi pour eux. Je te souhaite autant de réussite qu'eux et je trouve que c'est un super move pour la suite. Je n'ai malheureusement pas de contact pour des sponsors, mais je suis dev web donc si tu as besoin d'aide sur ton site ou des trucs comme ça hésites pas. Au passage je vis actuellement au Philippines, je pense venir vous voir avec la clipper pour votre stop a Subbic ce serai super de te croiser pour découvrir un peu la course et l'équipage. The newish Mini580 class may interest you, very low cost though not as high performance as the 6.5's but very achievable and there is a circumnavigation race planned. Its the brainchild of Don McIntyre of GGR and OGR fame. Anyway, all the info is at www.classmini580.com. I think you will enjoy the concept.
A mon avis, il faut penser à vendre un truc aux sponsors. Peut être commencer par chercher les entreprises qui cherchent à se mettre en avant sur You tube et leur proposer en échange du sponsoring du contenu vidéo. En fait acheter de la pub dans un journal ça coute cher, si tu peux leur montrer que te sponsoriser est meilleur marché, t'as gagné une partie de la bataille. Bonne chance...

I'm curious to know why you've not entered into the media competitions for the clipper race? You've put vids on your own channel when you could have been gaining extra race points for the Halong bay team.
