- An interesting advert I recently found probably aired in late 2001 but recorded New Years Day 2002. The man was saying the lines to Human League's Don't you Want me while at the petrol station. Why can't car adverts be like this anymore?
This Fiat advert first aired in December 2001, probably to mark 20 years since Human League released their hit single Don't You Want Me, the song which features in this ad and whose song's lyrics are spoken by actor James Daffern who appears in this advert alongside Myfawny Waring, who was later cast as PC Amber Johanssen in The Bill.
I remember this advert well. Can't believe it was in 2001!! Time flies.
20 years ago. It feels like only yesterday.
I'm 41 going 42 in October and yes I was telling some ppl in Florida how time flies because in 2001 I lived in Campberwell Green, London and at that time I was in Gatwick airport coming off a flight from Jamaica when the president of the day, G. Bush was giving a speech at a school, coincidentally in Florida where I now live and watched as the bomb laiden drones hit the Twin Towers and also watched building 7 fell and it wasn't struck by any Drone.
Can remember it like yesterday. Unbelievable! 😳
It's almost as if time made a 15 years jump because it just don't feel as if 20 years went by so fast.
You gotta be like 40 and Over to really grasp the understanding of what I am saying.
@@eleanorhogan8643 and has for the Human League's "Don't You Want Me" 1981!!! Time flys when you're having fun or getting old... £-P
@@williamkunte5361 I was 11 in 2001.

I used to love this advert!
I thought it was quite funny because she nearly drives away without him.
Best looking Punto they ever did, the 3 door MK2
"Don't you want a fantastic deal on a Fiat Punto?"
The last time those words were ever uttered
I remember this advert being played in the cinema before Rat Race started, in 2002.
Brings back memories!
I always wondered why there was never a female version of this advert (the girl narrating the second verse - sung by Susan Ann Sulley - and paying in the kiosk, with the male filling up/driving)
I sing the woah woah part daily like it’s a meme, it’s been 23 years!
I couldn't remember who did this advert so I just looked up the song and I finally found this advert 😂😂😂😂
Featuring Myfanwy Waring (PC Amber Johanssen from The Bill). Apparently Phil Oakey from the Human League wasn't all that impressed with this advert as it seemed to ruin his 1981 hit song.
This was 2001 🤯 17 years ago 🤪
This advert was probably recorded in 2001, but shown from January 2002
I was about to say
Ah ok
Glad we got that cleared up, always grinds my gears when I hear people saying they saw it in 2001 when it wasn't televised until the following year.
Fantastico!
Brummie Human League
This looks like the longer version, the shorter version had some lines removed
Omg good because that guy was so cringey xD
Yes, hahaha!
Don’t yow want me babay?
I swear this is a homage… Doesn’t anyone remember the 80’s advert at the petrol station same song, and again with a brummie couple?
what happened to these cars, they were best selling
LOL I remember that!
Jeez, this one didn't age so well!
We sold our Punto... I'm really sad
Matt Webster from dream team
Save it for bingo
Phil Oakey & the Human League girls hated this advert lol
I don't blame them, this advert is so cringe worthy!
@@lucylocket4740 seconded, this is bloody awful!
Why was it allowed to air I wonder? 😑
@@lucylocket4740 It was the record label. Virgin, that allowed Fiat to use it. After that, the band sued Virgin and lost
That's such a shame then!
isnt she from the bill?
PC Amber Johanssen.
@Mike McDermott lol gosh I'm old now I'm 40
What was his name ??
James Daffern
I looked it up because he looked so familiar. Apparently he’s been in Casualty, Holby City, Emmerdale, Spooks and Hunted but I’ve never watched any of them lol
@@cally1941
Omg he’s my niece’s husband’s nephew thank you xxxx
@@jacquiwhitehouse2924 wow, an amazing fact and you’re welcome x 🤗
Brummie McBrummieface
Who is the girl
That Brummie guy needed a slap. I'd have driven off.
Lol
I actually know someone who lookslike this woman she is like a sister to me
Are you suggesting she is a dead ringer for this advert woman?
Lucy Locket she is seeing someone and is a legend
Does she look exactly like her?
Lucy Locket near enough
Ah ok.
Eh Raffa settembre 2001 stramaledettissimo
