Have you ever tried the duel g 330, its a legendary frame, i think its the best 330 frame they made, manuverable and powerful with 16x20 control, the modern ones are too muted and soft and have too much twistweight. Nice to hear your thoughts on it.

I think that the review is a bit negative towards this racket. I use the previous version and love control rackets! I actually hit with more pace (on swingvision) with control rackets because I swing out and these are more like the rackets I grew up with. I have fewer mishits with this frame than my previous gravity pro. I think that these rackets are exceptional. I have 2 prestige 360+ that used to be a favorite on this channel and this racket is just as good or even more accessible to the masses than that racket. I think a lot of people might be surprised how playable this frame is if they play test it.

You talked about how you and Daniel started to gravitate away from the traditional control racquets. I'd love to see a short video about that journey. I currently use the 97HD (green, customized) and have been enjoying control racquets for a while. But since I'm aging and not playing as often or as serious as I used to, I've been considering switching it up. I honestly haven't hit a 100" racquet that I enjoyed (other than before I became a more advanced player)... That is until i demoed the 100D. It was still much too light for me (6'5" male who played college tennis in the US) because i love a beefy stick, but do you think the 100D would be worth looking into more if i added weight? I still enjoy my 97HD, but now that i don't play as seriously or as often, I've just been thinking that I don't need something as demanding, even if it's still fun to hit with. What are your thoughts? Or maybe other racquets that would be better to look into?

I went from the 97HD to the Percept 97D and the latter is significantly easier to use imo, it provides way more stability and also a little more pop than the old HD. I also felt that the HD was a bit too hard to use, switching to the 97D seemed to alleviate that for me.

You're perspective is interesting...I gravitate towards control racquets and haven't had the desire to switch to a power racquet or spin racquet...or switch to a bigger 100sq in head. I'm a 4.5 all court player when playing well, but probably not there because just getting back into it. What level player do you think a control racquet like this is appropriate for?

One racquet with lead at 3 and 9 and butt cap

Hey, how do you like your new setup ? Any difference over the original racquet ? I'm also interested in Percept 97 and customize it. Using now a customized ezone 100 (2022), strung weight ~ 335g, lead at 3, 9 and 12. Too much power and less control. Changed from a Babolat pure drive GT (2015) due to some elbow issue. Looking now for a friendly elbow racquet. Thanks !

@@aurel007ian hey man. First of all, I am not a tennis expert or anything like that. I am not sure if this racquet will be good for your elbow. Control oriented racquets will always demand more from you then power racquets. You will need to make full swings in order to generate a lot of power, and I don't know if that will be good for your elbow.
With that being said, I am loving the customizations that I made in my racquets. It "fixes" some issues like lack of stability and power due to the thin beam and low swingweight. I am in love with my racquets so far.

@@aurel007ian there's a college player on youtube, MPTennis, that plays with the head radical pro, because he really loves it and it doesn't give him pain. He tried other racquets but a lot of them were hurting him. Maybe look for the radical pro or the radical MP, it has some great specs too. 98 inch headsize, good control, good swingweight, 16x19.
About my Percept 97 customized , I think it's perfect for my game. I like to play doubles, hit flat, serve and volley, be agressive with my forehand. I love the comfort, feel, control... pretty much everything that the racquet is giving me. So I would definitely recommend it. But I would recommend customizing it. It feels like the racquet asks for customization, and when you do, it feels amazing.

As of now, I feel ezone 100 more comfortable than babolat GT but since I've changed it I lost a lot of control, many unforced errors due to increased launch angle and power on ezone this is why I want to try a more control oriented racquet. Finally bought one percept 97 and customized it at a professional lab with some lead bands at 3/9 and 12, total weight now is 336g plus the vibration dampener 4g for a total of 340g. New swing weight = 335.5 (original measured 308), new balance 32.6 cm (12.83 in) (5-6 points head light). String is yonex politour Rev with tension 22/21 Kg (48.5/46.3 lb). What a dream racquet, much much more better than the original Percept 97 (not customized), not as powerful as Yonex Ezone 100 but with a proper string and tension is close enough and the control is far far better than ezone 100 ....

Interesting raquet! this 335+ strung swing weight! its something pretty demanding. Also interesting about string tension with 97 head size and 18x20 string pattern, you should string it much lower then 16x19 quite big difference. But yea 335+ swing weight its heavy. Reminding me of the two Yonex Vcore Pro 97 HD that I have with 337.5 swing weight its super heavy! Need to be very aggresive with the swing to hit in time and in front of you.

If you have an Eastern forehand grip and are physically strong, I think you can easily play with this racket even if you're say a 3.5 or 4.0 level player. Very fun racket to use for flat-ish shots, although it can generate spin just fine if you get under the ball.

I think these type of racquets just need lower tension or a more powerful string bed like gut/poly.
Makes not much sense to string it too high with a stiffish poly and then complain that it doesn't have enough power.

    Jonas,
I am a recent follower of yours and enjoyed your reviews and thoughts on all tennis related topics. One question that came up from watching this video is regarding OHBH and 100sq frames. I am a 3.5 OHBH flat-leaning player who is on a racquet journey. My bag consists of a ProStaff 97 V13 and Ezone 9 8. Both I love but still I am not 100% there to get what I want. As I know you are also a OHBH player, I was curious on your suggestion to try the Percept 100D. I found numerous previous videos and comments of yours recommending smaller head sizes for OHBH. How is a OHBD affected when playing with the Percept 100 or for that matter Ezone 100? I recently am demoing the Radical MP, Ezone 98 Tour and Vcore 98. The latter really surprised me on its control and what was even more shocking how well it preformed in serves over my somewhat eractic Ezone 98. I have not tired the Radical.
    Thank,

Specs on this one look very interesting & it prolly plays great for advanced players. Not a fan of the paint job or the "Percept" name so two thumbs down 👎👎to Yonex for attributing those to what otherwise appears to be a great stick. These type of user demanding type frames will help to make you play better if you are able to stick with them & fine tune them to your style if you're an advanced player imo. Prolly won't try it as don't see it generally as an improvement over the Head PT2. Good luck to your buddy with the PA VS as too stiff an RA for me.
