He Plasti Dipped My Wheels Black!

My Porsche Boxster wheels were holding up well after years of daily driving when my 16 year old son decided to paint them matte black using a spray can of Plasti Dip. It was a record cold day here and he painted them outside in the driveway. Because of the air temperature, the result was something less than perfect but it ended up looking pretty good. He used a couple of halogen work lamps to warm the wheels and speed up the drying process. This video shows his technique and the end result. You will notice that he didn't bother masking the tires because the paint peels off easily after it drys. This makes the job much simpler. The matte black finish certainly changes the look of the Porsche. You will either love it or hate it.
