Rob Devlin is quite the monster. He was holding 7 w/kg for much of the time. His gross watts are not so high, but he is a very light guy, all legs. Lives here in Concord, Mass. Your effort was, again, solid and consistent. (I sound like Strava AI....) Good drama. Thought you might have a chance to bury your group on the last climb, but you waited until the end. So, overall, an excellent effort in line with recent performance, as AI would say.
It was a great race. To be beaten by a ZWIFT pro is kind of cool really 👍 To be honest I was pretty much out of power at the end of the ride so no chances of getting people buried I am afraid 😅
Haha :D Even if you decide to race and find a few other lunatics, it doesn't make your local coffee group ride a race Gerben :D Congrats on another solid performance. Quick question, how do you recover between such frequent hard effort days? I could probably do your watts one day, maybe two in a row but then my legs would go into jelly mode. It's impressive how you're handling it, much more than any single ride.
If there is a finish line, it's a race. Recovery is indeed quick. But I have been riding a bike for a very long time, so that helps. I tend to go to bed early, get lots of rest and ride relatively short races with two days in the week off the bike. Which I think is the most important part of it.
@ lots of sleep, that's what I'm missing for sure. Might be the secret ingredient. And as for the Tour de Whatever, Ed Laverack even admits it's not a race while racing it. Locally we have some events (usually they're called a rally or whatever along those lines) where you have a finish line and you can race (many people do) but it's officially not a race, there's no winner announced, no medals, no podium, only a list of finishers and that's that. Tour de Zwift is probably closest to that type of an event.
@@RideWithGerbenhe’s definitely legit. He placed 2nd in the USA 2024 esports championships. Either way, great job keeping him so close and getting in the podium!!!
🎉 lekker hoor.
Podium. Eindelijk 😂

You have plenty of time for the B ride. It was only 42 minutes when I did it the other day. Not so very long.
Got to slot it in somewhere. Busy life is busy😅
This 6.Devlin guy is 100% not ligit 😞... such a pity.... nice riding (racing) Gerben!!!
Thank you! I've looked Devlin up and he seems ok to me? Let's just say I have seen worse behaviour in Zwift :)

@ Oh wow! I've raced with ZWIFT royalty :D
