One thing I find really interesting about the system is that the dice DON'T directly oppose each other. Positive dice have more successes than the negative dice have failures, and the negative dice have more disadvantage than the positive dice have advantage. The result is that actions are more likely to succeed, but at a cost.

Oh dang. Great catch! That's a solid piece of game design.
I've had a remake of this video planned for a bit. Is it okay if I add this information to the script? You'll get the credit, of course.

@@Inotherworlds Go for it! I can't take full credit, though. There was a Matt Colville stream or video where he talked about how the Force Die from FFG's Star Wars games isn't symmetrical, and that made me wonder what the other dice in the system were like.

Hey thanks! I'm actually cleaning up the script for a follow up video on Genesys' combat. Was there anything you wish you knew when you first started playing it?

Genesis is one of my favorite systems because its less hard results and more narrative outcomes.

Honestly, the narrative outcomes this game can bring really make this system something special.

Interesting system. But I've played with enough women who'd insist on the advantage thatI'm just gonna say … she's well-dressed and that gives her a boost, but she's persuading baddies who consider her overdressed, so setback … And it's raining and her clothes are wet? Depending on how skeevy these baddies are, THAT MIGHT BE A BOOST.
Sexism? Yyyup. But when you're trying to get an advantage against baddies you use it if you've got it. 😉

Spiting straight facts my guy lol. No idea how I missed that. A correction/rewrite of this video is on the list, so that's definitely going to be a point lol. Good catch.

@@Inotherworlds I enjoyed it, and its a great example of a system using nontraditional dice in a way that they actually make sense

@@HaydenMoulds Oh hey, good point! I'll probably outline the symbols, or change the background. Thanks for pointing it out!
