I really liked this. So many videos on RUclips are of this huge raw material that's really rare for the average person to get an example of, or wiring an already established tree. I like this short video showing real day-to-day observations and tasks in a nursery! More please!

Thanks Jason, needed to see that. Had pruned back a juniper a fortnight ago, needed to be shown that patience pays off 🙏

Thanks for this great video! Sometimes there is discouragement with the bad position of breaches and mistakes. this brings more positive thoughts. 👌🙏

I have one that just came up in one of my pots. Just letting it grow because it is only about a year old, in growth.

Can you make a video on how to train a low-growing/octopus-like small juniper sapling into a big 4’-10’ tall upright Niwaki juniper?
I know they are naturally low growing.. but I see some very tall (4’-10’) upright Niwaki junipers at my local bonsai/niwaki nursery (very nicely cloud pruned and shaped).
My goal is to grow my many San Jose cuttings into tall Niwaki. 😊

Juniper are mew to me. I do not know much about them and how to style them. Are there any books that you recommend to help me further my knowledge of this species?

Hello Jason, I wonder how old are your Juniper materials before you transfer them into bonsai pots. Usually, how many years should you wait and care for the trunk to become 2-3 inches thick? Did they come from thick branch cuttings?

Hi, I'm new to growing bonsai trees and I was wondering if it is normal for the leaves to be brown on the bottom but green on top is this normal or does it mean they are dying?

    Helpful..
I’m so trying to rehab some neglected (my fault 😔- shame on me, I disregarded a ficus I “rescued” from a neighbor who abandoned it,, then I went AWOL during my shoulder/spine issues.. ) as well as a beautiful Coastal Rosemary I’ve nurtured since a seedling - now it’s 4’x4’ of tangled main branches and “legginess”..
I SO want to treat them better and they both have tremendous potential.. at I think they do.. for BONSAI...
I’m just overwhelmed on “where to start”!
I started cleaning them both up.. they both sort of look like “The Dude” in “The Big Lebowski”- sans the perpetual White Russian!

What's the secret :)? Usually the stumps without leaves die off, because the live vean no longer supports the foliage.
