  • Dhar city is an ancient city which was the capital of the Parmar dynasty of Malwa. Bhojshala was built in the eleventh century during the reign of the great Parmar Rajabhoj of Malwa. It is said that it was the main center of knowledge and science at that time. The main goddess of Bhojshala was devi Saraswati, whose name was also Vagdevi and in the fourteenth century it was damaged by the Turkish invaders and later its religious form was changed. At present i.e. in the year 2024, on the orders of Madhya Pradesh High Court, ASI is conducting a survey here in Bhojshala, in which many important things are expected to be revealed during the excavation.
