I had one as an 8th grade graduation present from my folks, in 1977. Bought straight from our local Honda dealership. I loved that bike! I rode it everywhere with my guy friends. One of them had a Harley 125 & I smoked him every time with my bike. Lol. No joking. I got mine up to 60mph on an old highway. It registered 80 mph. My side cover decal wasn't black though. Seeing this really brings back some good memories. :)
Love those little xl100 Hondas Ken. that was my introduction to the real world of motorcycles back in 1971.enjoy that bike for quiet some time it was a great little trail bike around my town up in Northern California where we have hundreds of miles of old logging roads you could go off on them old roads and just play forever. My 71 XL 100 was the same color as that one you're showing Ken. Thanks for the memories brother!
Cool bike, my first two motorcycles were a 1982 xr80 and xr100, I bought both bike's new at the same time, the 80 for my wife and the 100 for myself, fun time's !
I owned one if these that i bought new. Fantastic bike... But this one you have is missing the seat strap and i remember the indicators being chrome with round lenses.... Not black.
I got one of these it belonged to my brother. He parked it in 86. It’s been in the garage ever since. Has 350 miles on it. I’d like to sell it. I wonder what I could get for it. Has one little dent on the tank a little rust on the chrome. Would be a great fixer upper for someone.
Ronald Tartaglia I have a kx500 and I still take my crf 80 or my bbr built ttr125l out just to mess around on a lot of times the smaller bikes can be more fun then the bigbikes
I bought a brand new XL200R in '83 when I was 15. Remember driving that bike to my first jobs. Still have it.

My first new bike was a '83 XR100. First year with the mono-shock. I really wanted a 2-stroke 80cc screamer. A KX, RM, CR or YZ.
Back in 1977 there was lots of vacant land to ride these, Good Memories!

I had one back in 1978 and it was a great bike! I don't think the blinkers are original though. Mine were metal and were chrome.

What is the top speed on these with an adult rider?
80kph depending on your sprocket setup and rider weight. There is no way they go as fast as the speedo indicates (they show max speed for each gear)
