There are claimants to the Bulgarian kingdom in the 1066 start date starting in the same duchy u started in, great playthrough to restore the Bulgarian empire
Thanks for finally doing a university visit. I been asking ppl that do ck3 videos to try it and ur the first one to show it in a video thanks so much.🙂👍
Simeon the Great studied in Byzantium in the prestigious Magnaura school. He inherited the throne in 894 when his brother Vladimir-Rasaté was blinded by their father for trying to return paganism to Bulgaria. Simeon started the first trade war in history after Leo VlI of Byzantium moved the centre of Bulgaria to Salonica. He won and conquered parts of Macedonia (the historical region). In 913 he besieged Constantinople after the de facto ruler of Byzantium, Alexander, refused to pay the annual tax to Bulgaria. As a result Simeon was to be crowned as the first Tsar of Bulgaria and his daughter was to marry Constantine Vll Porphyrogenitus. When Constantine's mother returned, however, these clauses were denied and Simeon conquered Adrianople. In his last years on the throne simeon conquered Serbia and besieged Constantinople again but he died in 927.
There is a medal in russia named after simeon and is given when win in an impossible situation,as he did fighting succesful wars on all bulgaria borders and made bulgaria 750 000sq.km.( today it is 111 000)....another thing he is famous with is that he expell the magyars(the hungarians)from his north-east borders, where the danube enters the black sea and they went in their present day home panonia
Byzantine empire actually had help from the Kievan Rus under Yaroslav the Brave who had conquered khazaria and advanced into bulgaria in his first Balkan campaign. So it should not be Byzantium to be credited for winning, as it is not known what would happen to them if not for the Rus, maybe Bulgaria would have been the center of orthodoxy.
Simeon The Great got the title Tsar which is the same as Caesar and it was equivalent to emperor, before that title we were technically a kingdom tier realm.
The title for the first Bulgarian rulers was kanasubigi. We don’t know what that directly translates to. Also the picture he showed of the “first Bulgaria empire under Simeon” at the start of the video was completely wrong, he just showed the 2nd Bulgarian empire. Many mistakes
The map you show at the beginning of the First Bulgarian Empire is inaccurate. Simeon's Bulgaria is the starting territory in 867 in CK3 + Serbia + as south as Corinth (excluding Thessaloniki)
You don't have to wait for your father to die! Boris retreats to a monastery, crowns the older son Roman, he decides to bring back the pagan gods as the official religion, Boris comes back from the monastery and dethrones ROman, putting Simeon on the throne.

What bothers me is that the title is "Emperor", not "Tsar"
All tier 3 realms are called empire
Take a shot every time he pronounces Byzantine wrong and you'll get drunk real fast!

I mean technically Krum formed the start of the first Bulgarian Empire
