I don't understand why so many people PAY for the advice of non-experts. I get that Brittany lost weight of her own before she became a fitness "guru" but just because you accomplished your own weight loss goals doesn't mean you're an expert, doesn't mean what worked for you will work for others and also doesn't mean the way you accomplished it was healthy or advisable to others. I get that going to actual dietitians or even bariatricians can be expensive, but why not save and then invest on EXPERT advice tailored to your individual needs rather than waste your money paying actual fraudulent fools for advice/programs and what not.

I wanted to buy one of her plans SO BAD! I remember seeing a before and after photo (started at 170ish down to 130ish, which was similar to what I was/wanted to be). After following her for awhile I looked more into her plans and watched her older RUclips videos.
I learned she did not go from 170 down to 130 in a healthy way! She ended up going from 170 to under weight (she had an eating disorder and was losing her hair and stuff) then to 130. After learning that I felt we wouldn’t be on the “same journey”. I wanted to learn to balance things and workouts to help me. In my opinion, her going from 170 to under weight to 130ish was a different, unhealthy path (meaning the eating disorder).
I also didn’t like she kept posting before and after photos but always failed to mention she had an eating disorder.
In my opinion, I feel like she lied to her following about her journey to sell more plans. (Like “look I went from over weight to a great weight by doing this”, when in reality she failed to mention the middle eating disorder time frame)
To be very clear I respect EVERYONE who overcomes an eating disorder, just feel she should have been upfront about it to everyone.

I understand where you’re coming from which is my point…they are total strangers many of which don’t have a business background, marketing, etc and therefore some of them could be total scam artists which is why I don’t buy into any of them. I wouldn’t purchasing any of their products on-line period. Example: I follow a RUclips influencer that sells teas and I was interested in the teas just not purchasing from her due to following her everyday life, she’s busy all the time and this is her side hustle she probably wants to make full time. I read several comments of people who ordered her teas with complaints about not receiving them at the time she stated on her website. These influencers whether they’re scam artists or not get in over their heads and just can’t deliver. This is why I would never buy, give to their PO Boxes or anything from my pockets to theirs. They are regular folks like us. I don’t know them.

As a personal trainer myself, just please please do your research on actual local personal trainers that are there for you. We don't go through all of the studying and stuff we do just for fun or followers. If somebody has thousands of followers and they're offering one on one coaching it's likely to be too good to be true. A lot of the junk that you see on TikTok and Instagram are very unnecessary and or dangerous, especially if you have some sort of physical issue that might prevent you from doing one of the moves they do. I'm tired of hearing stories about this from people that call themselves influencers. I'm not even licensed to give you a nutritional program. I have to send you to a nutritionist or a registered dietitian, that's out of my scope of practice so if people are offering meal plans and they don't have a certification that should be one of your biggest red flags right there.

Nor, was she aware that her clients had an eating disorder/recently given birth for that's an automatic decline and advised to seek a medical professional. Why would someone with an eating disorder seek fitness help? It just feeding into their eating disorder. Putting themselves at greater risk. Fitness is about leaning out, bulking, cycling. Their is no room for an eating disorder especially when refeeding syndrome can occur. High creatine levels and so forth.

What Brittney Dawn did isn't right, and it sounds like she should be prosecuted for fraud due to not delivering on services that were promised. However, there also needs to be some responsibility on the part of the consumer regarding the quality of the services. The woman interviewed and others like her were taking exercise and eating advice from some random "influencer" on social media. They didn't pay someone who claimed to be a certified personal trainer or a licensed nutritionist so to me they have agreed to assume the risk that goes along with consulting a random person for health advice. I mean she's a grown woman of seemingly average intelligence, she doesn't have any idea around how many calories a day she needs? She couldn't Google that shit and figure out the eating plan was unhealthy? Come on. Grow up and take some responsibility for yourself.
