You have to have thick skin in this world. When I was in basic training in the army, one of the drill instructors called me Don Ho. I didn't know who that was, but after looking into it, I found out he was a Hawaiian singer and musician. I'm Cree, a tribe of the First People's Nation. I didn't think I looked that much like him, but everyone started calling me Don Ho, so I felt all I could do was own it. I took the nickname Don and even wrote it on some letters and other correspondence, to the point where I was eventually told I couldn't do that on anything official. That was in the early 80s.

If you're into South Park. You should watch "Six Days to Air." It's a somewhat inside look into how they churn out an episode every week. It's interesting.
Brian B won one of the 2 Golds medal in the 1988 Calgary Olympics. It was ironic because he was considered to be lucky to be at that Olympics. But after the games, he was on every talk show and herald as a champion of the United States. I am sure the store runners remember how funny it was.
It's easier on yourself to laugh along to a parody of yourself. Your own mind is your worst enemy nearly all the time. I have greater respect for celebs that are unapologetically themselves with a sense of humor.
1:23 Sally Struthers was famous in the (80s?) for a sitcom she was on. In the 90s she started doing commercials for the Starving Kids in Africa. "Just 5 cents a day can save the life of a starving child". I think she is the reason most Americans think everyone in Africa are starving living in huts.
Hilarious! Martha Stewart probably did not see the episode but just the picture of her South Park Self because Martha Stewart in the episode sits on top of the turkey and stuffs it up into her %^#@!
She's got a sense of humor and an eye to what helps her brand. Have you seen the recent stuff she has done with Snoop? Martha probably laughed as she made more money.
The Sara Jessica Parker gag goes way way deeper than any casual viewer would even pick up on. We are talking jokes within jokes from the movie "Ed Wood" which is also jokes within jokes. That one is not so much offensive as to pick out the few who get the huge convoluted reference from one of the funniest movies ever made. Oh, and if you are wondering why not serious movie critic or even semi successful movie review internet review show has ever mentioned "Ed Wood". It's because it doesn't need to be mentioned, or reviewed, criticised. It's one of those "perfect" movies that everyone just agrees is a good movie. Like Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Tremors, Alien, Terminator, ET, even newer films like Titanic, Jurassic Park. No need to review them, talk about them. 'Ed Wood' is one of those movies, but never did great at the box office . And that movie is where the joke that SJP looks like a horse because of her long thin face.
Sally Struthers is an American actress. She played the daughter in an old 70's and funny American sitcom called "All In The Family! It would be cool to see you react to a show! You might like All In The Family. The Jeffersons are pretty funny too. Watch them as well. These shows are obviously before your time, but are still classics. Hehehehehe 😆
The best thing about South Park is that it's meteoric satire: it just smashes everything. But I think that, like The Simpsons the show peaked in seasons 4-7. The problem with the Mecha-Streisand is that her best appearances will never be re-run, because they were part of the Super-Best Friends episodes where Trey and Parker directly challenged Comedy Central and used an image of Mohammed, daring the network to air it. It did air, but only once, and the face of Mohammed was blacked-out.
being a child of the 70s and 80s... Nadia Comomich {spellling} was the figure skater champion when it came to precision and grace... this year... the wild flip skate girl was daring and I cheered for her. she broke a record...
12:09 Matt and Trey, the creators of South Park, voice a ton of the characters on the show. Martha Stewart in that clip was definitely voiced by one of them!
George R. R. Martin is one of the nicest people I've ever met. At the time that his 5th book, A Dance Wuth Dragons came out, he came into the bookstore I was working in at the time, to sign copies of the books. After that, he stuck around and talked to the staff members of the bookstore and even took photos with us. He treated us as if we were all old friends of his. He's one of the humblest and most down-to-earth people I've ever met. It was quite refreshing, because I'm such a fan of his books and he's a huge inspiration to myself as a fantasy writer, that it would have been very disheartening if he had turned out to be arrogant and conceited instead. A couple of years prior to this, I had sent him an email through his website, just telling him how much I was enjoying his books. I never expected a response. So I was pleasantly surprised when about a week later, he replied to me with a very polite and friendly email. The guy is definitely a class act!
RR seems like the kind of guy who, after a signing, says "hey, who wants to go get a beer?" and at the end of the night the employees have to make excuses to get home because he still wants to hang out.
I've always wondered what Mel Gibson thinks of his appearance. They absolutely destroyed him. Laughter made me pause Mel's episode many times. Often when I did it made it worse, because he'd have the dumbest psychopathic look on his face.
My favorite thing is that in a later episode they brought him on to write something, and said "say what you want about Mel Gibson, but the son of a bitch knows story structure."
The thing with Sally Struthers is the fact as time went on she put on alot of weight. I have to admit that even I thought it creepy to see someone very over weight asking to feed starving children. I blame commercial producers. They had to know that it was being viewed as such. Bottom line, as you pointed out, if South Park parodys you, youve made it. Gallowe humor at its best.
Not sure how it converts to quids or pounds but on americas funnist home videos in the US the prizes ranged from four thousand to twenty thousand dollars dependeing on which place you won.
The JLo episode was brutal for other reasons. That was back when she and Ben Affleck first dated. Ben Affleck was also in the episode and he cheated on Jennifer with Cartman's hand puppet. It was disgusting cause Cartman gave Ben a hand __b. I had to cover my eyes through most of the episode.
Steve Irwin loved his kids more than anything so if there was something that would cause them to feel pain he most certainly wouldn’t have been fine with it.
