    You can also use the swabish hitch as a loop to do a truckers hitch. That’s how I use mine. I think it cinches way tighter that way.

    That is possibly the simplest and best attachment system I've ever seen!

      It is very slick, I may have to get the thicker model that’s for stands.. Amsteel is amazing

    Another company makes something similar to these and I bought one for my platform then made my own for my sticks. The only difference is mine had an extra swabish hitch that I go through with the rope before putting the second one on my button. It’s very rock solid and I made 3 for the price of one. 😅

    These look pretty sweet. I'm using cam cleats on my sticks currently... They hold great and are nice and tight, but it always makes me a little nervous 20' up since they aren't specifically rated for climbing use. I end up making a couple half hitches for extra security, which sort of defeats the purpose of having the cam cleat!

    • @MarkDohring
      @MarkDohring  Год назад

      Yes always put a half hitch with them. I remember testing my hawks and the rope slipped and I did not have a half hitch which made it slide way down. Be safe !

    I could see someone making a carbon fiber garrote you twist after the first loop, then a loop off the end to fasten back to the stick or platform once it's tight

    I love how easy that rope is to use but i don't trust any extra knots/joints in the rope. I might use this near the ground on my first step but not up high in the tree.

      Everyone has to be comfortable with what they choose. Everyone thinks the webs with cam buckles are the best, I had a strap snap right where the buckle was pinching it, when I was setting a stand. I probably had the strap to tight before I started to cam it, luckily I was tethered in. That’s really why I trust my rope mods, I put a 12” berry in, and I use the thicker amsteel that holds 7500 lbs. Thnaks for watching the video, have a great season

    Have you tried the PSH system from vital grounds outdoors? Looks really slick and lot better bite for platforms too, no lifting of the top teeth off the tree and even quicker prob

    • @MarkDohring
      @MarkDohring  11 месяцев назад +1

      I have not, will have to look it up and possible try it out.

      @@MarkDohring yeah its pretty slick looking setup, similar but even quicker it looks, and cams over platforms surprisingly well with little effort

      @@MarkDohring worth looking into for sure. Think theyre not taking new orders for about 3 weeks tho. Also the gear zip whoopie slings from hang free look amazing and need some of those

    Does it bother you that the prusik rubs against the tree? Makes me nervous that it’ll slow it to loosen if it gets caught on bark

    • @MarkDohring
      @MarkDohring  11 месяцев назад

      Haven't had that problem at all, staying tight to the tree

    Would this work for a predator platform?

    • @MarkDohring
      @MarkDohring  11 месяцев назад

      I would use the 3/16 HFAS for a platform, not the lite. The 3/16 is made for stands and platforms

    Do you know if these guys ever put out any discount codes? I don’t have any problem paying $20 for the product but the $5 for shipping on a 2oz package really turns me off. I'm sure part of it is that I am just a cheapskate but also amazon has me a little spoiled.

    For that price you only get 1! That’s crazy

      Or u can buy all the stuff urself and make one, I know it took me awhile to make just my Rope Mods, I have no desire to do all the work these take. Thanks for watching the video. Hope ur season is starting soon, have a great season.
