A problem most Europeans have...underestimating the size and diversity of the USA, you all have the tendency to think of us as simply another country, on par with Germany or France or Italy, instead of understanding that the USA is, in essence a union of 50 semi-autonomous states, it is similar in size, population and structure to the entire European Union, each state in the USA has it's own diverse culture, foods, accent, laws, traditions and geography, it's not just one country, it is a constitutional republic made up of 50 independent, democratic states. In fact our federal government is supposed to have very limited powers, limited to national defense, foreign trade and representation abroad, here at home the states have almost as much independence from each other as separate countries do, they merely have to make sure their laws do not violate the US constitution, which itself cannot be changed without a majority of both houses of congress, the US president and a majority of the governors of the individual states.
As someone who's lived in a number of said states (Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Illinois, California), it can indeed feel like traveling to a different country when crossing state borders. Edit: Forgot to mention my birth state, Oklahoma.

West Virginia: "You'll find the most equal state in terms of education level and income by race" The word "equal" makes this seem like a plus, but we're pretty damn low in terms of education level and income in general. Hence the obesity, lack of college degrees, and opioid overdoses. So basically, there is no racial disparity in our suffering lol
This is the most honest, non- judgemental thing I've seen in a long time. Basically saying race, sex, and religion etc shouldn't be categorized for statistics, everyone sucks equally lol I love it.
@@Cubs-Fan.10 I think they're basically saying that when the bar is low, it's hard to point to much disparity if everyone is getting shit thrown at them. Not that it shouldn't be paid attention to. But I agree, I like the deadpan honesty without being overly condescending.
I also think people don't consider that lack of education doesn't always equal 'this person doesn't understand basic health so they end up obese'. It's more often,"This person lacks decent income enough to live healthy and healthy foods are expensive so they only have access to the intentionally saturated by food companies (approved by the greedy blind FDA) with sugar (Which acts upon the brain as heroin does) and when the lowest, cheapest, least healthy foods toss severe addictive qualities at people and is offered up cheap, where you could buy enough for the family at the same cost as a couple of fruits, then yeah, this is going to be a problem. They're killing Americans with heart disease slowly, due to greed. It's pretty obvious this won't be addressed any time soon. Sure maybe the great-great grandkids of the billionaires will say,'Wow, that was terrible of them, welp, oh well we're sorry.' and put a stop to it when they have money rolling in from other areas that makes them no longer care to poison Americans, but by then anyone who is actually responsible will have been long dead. Frustrating how reality works.

You think the Pennsylvania Deer thing is a joke. Literally every time you drive outside of major cities you’re almost guaranteed to see a deer. It’s scary cuz you don’t always see them
I have seen deer inside cities too. They come up the rivers, get lost, and wander the streets. I wouldn't be surprised if it is also the state where you are most likely to get in a car accident with a horse.
@Atheist Biologist your actually wrong there we are 50/50 we have extremly flat lands but always a shit ton of mountains going around all of the land we have a lot of the biggest mountain ranges here but WV is defintly worse with the roads For sure
Personally I really don’t like the main highway that goes through Pennsylvania. It is the worst for construction and you guys get that lake effect snow too, it’s a terrible combination. I live in Ohio and only drive through Pennsylvania when going to visit my friend in West Virginia or going to a gaming convention in Boston. But every time I’ve traveled through Pennsylvania the highway was the worst there. While I don’t particularly like tolls but I will say the main highway in West Virginia is actually pretty nice, I thought. It’s mountainous, yes, but the roads are well kept and that helps.
@@narnia1233 Our roads are horrible. We only really have one toll road in Pennsylvania which is the PA turnpike. All the rest of the roads are interstates which belong to the federal government and we don't get money to fix them. The main issue is we have a ton of traffic and we don't have the infrastructure to support it. Everyone in the NE needs to go through Pennsylvania to get anywhere else in the NE because New Jersey's roads are all toll roads just about. It also doesn't help that our roads get absolutely destroyed in winter either. Then you think about Philadelphia, our biggest city, which only really has one road that you can enter it from the west and two from the east due to hills and the rivers. At least our drivers are nicer than New Jersey.
@Atheist Biologist I'm not sure where you get that. The Appalachian Mountain range pass right through the middle of Pennsylvania and even the eastern end of Pennsylvania is extremely hilly.

"1/6 probability of hitting a deer while driving." As someone who has lived in Pennsylvania all my life, can confirm this is true, and you don't even need to technically be driving for a deer to slam into your car. I like to call them the Pennsylvania Lemmings, because our deer, for some reason, love to jump of cliffs in groups, dive into traffic, go 1v1 with semitrucks, and more. Got photos from a cousin of my mother's who was driving home on a quiet road when a buck came out of nowhere. It hit with such force that it decapitated itself. I've seen the photos, still have them actually since some friends of mine didn't believe me that a deer could do that much damage to a vehicle. I recently visited a friend in West Virginia and on my way back home to Ohio the car in front of me swerved very suddenly and I did too but it wasn’t enough. We have a lot of deer in Ohio too, but it’s not so bad that 1/7 people hit one.
I'm from Pennsylvania, and I can absolutely confirm that if you are driving outside a city at night, checking the sides of the road for deer requires your full, constant attention. Part of why Alaska generally has higher salaries is due to cost of living. It simply costs more to get items up there. As for those islands.... I heard a story of one island that was essentially cut off during the pandemic. One man with a boat/barge got a crew together and got a barge full of supplies and food for their whole town. Each one-way boat trip took like 9 hours!
Also, there's the Alaska Permanent Fund, in which every resident gets a check for anywhere from $1000-$2000 or so every year. Honestly I've always thought that the best way to see the diversity of America's geography is to take a look at all the animals we have. So really any video on that I think would be really fun to see you react to, especially since our animal diversity is way different from Europe. The trouble is finding a video to watch on this topic soooo... rip I guess
Especially in comparison to the United Kingdom. Due to the massive deforestation and overhunting over centuries, there's very little left in terms of diversity in animal life. Or much animal life at all. The sole exception being bird species, which are currently thriving due to the protections they've put in place. Britain used to have a lot of animal life, but not so much anymore. In terms of mammals, they have some deer, but most of the species that used to live there are gone. And besides that, they have hedgehogs, rats, rabbits, and mice. And that's about it. The lakes and rivers in Britain used to be teeming with fish, and now many actually have none, whatsoever. The only predatory mammal still there is the fox, which escaped the fate of the wolves in Britain due to its small size.
For anyone that doesn’t know..... Oregon has the worst human trafficking problem in America (they encounter 3-5 cases per week). West Virginia: "You'll find the most equal state in terms of education level and income by race"
The word "equal" makes this seem like a plus, but we're pretty damn low in terms of education level and income in general.
As a West Virginian you are all correct lol
It's so low that you can't distinguish it 😂😂
I also think people don't consider that lack of education doesn't always equal 'this person doesn't understand basic health so they end up obese'.

What makes it worse is Alaska has the highest violence against women, and the least amount of women live there. And they still beat every other state in that statistic.
that's why the stats are so high just do the math if alaska had 2 women and another state has 10 women if 1 women was beaten in each state which would have the higher stats
@@remains10 Depends how the stats are looked at. If it's per person and not percentage that's one thing. If someone is using percentages it's sophism.

So North Dakota having the highest quality of life, means that the amount that a person makes per year, vs their cost to live per year is higher than the other states on average
Kansan here. During the summer the scenery can actually be beautiful sometimes.
Don’t you guys always have tornadoes tho ? Maybe I’m thinking of another state 😂
@@jessicamiller3788 yeah. It's not constant though. I'm 29 years old and there's only been about 5 tornados that touched down near my town since I've been alive. Never directly hit the town.
I'm from Missouri and I cross the Kansas border fairly often and can say it is almost an immediate difference in scenery, you guys need more trees. We share your tornado problem, I actually lived in Joplin when the 2011 EF5 multi vortex tornado happened, I lived up on a tall hill where I could see the first funnel start to form just after the Galena Kansas border, we had to walk toward the border to get signal to call my grandma in Lamar who could then call my uncle's family just a few miles from us to find out if they lived because we couldn't get to them. They survived but everything was gone except the kitchen table and the groceries on top of it which were somehow left untouched.

The tornadoes may sound really bad but in Oklahoma we will literally sit on the front porch to watch the storm. Usually the tornadoes aren’t worse than EF-2 but anything worse only a few people stay outside.
2020 update: Oregon is the worst at rioting.... the best at legalizing hard drugs...
Decriminalize does not mean legalize.
Which hopefully will curb the "war" on drugs, which has a whole slew of terrible repercussions, and one important one being violence...imagine the violence that'd go away if every place did this!
shaking my head pls educate urself
..In America that is. Now when countries dont allow legal firearms while doing this concoction of war on drugs, they get aa lot more peace. This is where systematic racism comes in and so much endless bs from militerzied power. While we have legal firearms, make the drugs legal, so as i said, curbs the violence. Where oregon did right. For one, its worked in other countries already, cuz helping people rather than hurting is always better. But it makes power plays die down. And if u know whats actually goin on, u know cartels/criminals to police are the dirtiest in the free usa. Its a good move when we know we cant take away the other things that Americans so feel the need for
