He betrays himself: he says “dying love” instead of “undying love” he never had any good intentions from the get go. If signing up for AM is his biggest mistake after hitting on his wife’s friends and probably sleeping with some of them, and after screwing strippers you have to wonder if he was ever playing with a full deck to begin with.
They always give themselves away. At the start he says that his favourite movie scene is the guy confessing his “dying love” not “undying love”. There’s always little indicators in the things they say that most people will write off as just an innocent mistake instead of an indication of maybe not being as emotionally invested as they profess to be.
