I actually kept detailed notes on my last 100 ranked games. 71 out of 100 times, I was on the draw. I faced some iteration of Mono Red 44 times, Rogues accounted for 27 games. Ultimatum decks, Gruul, Yorion and Tegrid rounded out the rest. It’s gotten to the point where the majority of games play out as if they were scripted and that completely destroys my motivation to play. It sucks that MtG is sooo ridiculously out of balance the last bunch of sets.
Demonic embrace is all powerful. Used that in a mono black deck last season to get to mythic. Quite the grind. Used Eye Collector and Nighthawk Scavanger as a simple synergy to pump the graveyard. Other than that it focused on lifelink and removal. I stopped playing after getting to mythic. Sometime I miss it, but I seem to be less irritated now. Uninstallation is your friend, trust me 😂
Put five rare/mythic blue lands in this mono black deck. But also 5 rare/mythic white spell cards. Add 5 rare/mythic green creature cards and then see how you like the shuffler. Luck of the draw has nothing to do with this game. Same shuffler BS can be seen in the way you earn vs buy cards. New greed driven set is so full of cards with a power and casting cost do not mesh. So many new reasons to concede. Awesome.
I'm having trouble winning most of your decks. Just lost with this one 4-0 (2x tibalt's trickery, 1x mono red, 1x adventures). Most seasons I get to mythic but I'm stuck on diamond now. Luckily I didn't use my wildcards for this, but it should really come with a warning for newer players that this is not a tier 0.5 deck.

With all those creatures why not fit in one of the recovery spells? (The 3 cmc one that allows you to pull 2 creatures from your graveyard with a total cmc of 3 and can assign death touch and menace as well to either of the creatures you brought back)
Emergent let’s you “cast” a card hence why you can pick while ecd “puts” on the battlefield which doesn’t let you pick anything but the front... it’s dumb.
I’d honestly take out one Araya and one blood chief fir two copies of duress. I absolutely don’t like ultimatum. If this was mono blue I’d run a play set of mystic reflection and shark typhoon. Then I’d laugh at their Tibalt and Vorinclex ETB as 1/1 blue sharks with flying 😂
its not "what they decide" its a clear rule, if u CAST it u can choose. emergent ultimatum CASTS THE CARD genesis ultimatum PUT THE CARDS ON THE FIELD thats why emergent u can choose and genesis u cant choose
I like this, but if I'm perfectly honest this is a little like a formula-deck and the games can feel repetitive: Throw around 12 of 1 and 2-drop black creatures together. Toss 10 low mana removal cards in there. Add 4 x demonic embrace for evasion. Add 4 x rankle or something stronger as a topper. Put 21 - 22 lands. Fill it up to 60 with an additional mechanism you like. Could be more creatures for aggro, a deathtouch blocker, could be some graveyard resurrection like call of the death-dweller, could be a planeswalker, or even life-gain shenanigans with Vito. This type of deck just always works well, and depending on the set that is live, varies from okay to extremely well.
Yeah emergent ultimatum IS broken. "oh but if you pay 7 mana for something it should hit hard" one emergent lets you skip 14 mana of stuff, two 7 mana is easy for blue green.
