So that was a resonant frequency making the acoustic guitar to my right vibrate... I didn’t think the mic would catch it as clearly as it did. I moved the guitar after the first riff...

Hi James, i'm a big Reggae fan. One of my favorite basslines is a song from the Reggaeband DubInc. The number is called Djamila. Lucky Dube is also great with the song Together as One. And i have a lot more Reggae with outstanding basslines. Johnny be good from Peter Tosh is al so Super Cool.
Aston "family man" Barrett... Amazing bassist and the music director of the Wailers. Check out family man's protege, robbie shakespeare, his work with black uhuru is great
I am not 100% convinced there is a Dflat in the I Shot the Sheriff bassline. It sounds a little bit strange. I certainly can't hear Aston Barrett playing a Dflat on the studio version. Anyway nice video.
It’s funny I’m listening back to the studio version and he’s playing a defending octave, 5th, root pattern. So I must have got it from a different version. Interesting! I’ll try and hunt down the version…
Don't sleep on Ritchie Daly from Third World. Track: "Reggae Jam Boogie" (among many others) = He is awesome. (also) Black Uhuru: "Sinsemilla" - oNe LovE from NYC
Love your videos James, and your playing ability makes me want to throw all my basses in the nearest skip. But that tone you have there is like the 'Anti Reggae' tone. Sort it out mate. Tone off, neck pup 3/4 , bridge pup (if you have one) 0%-10%
This video repurposed from a few years ago. I need to check the source material. I’ve seen a few comments to this affect and I’m reasonably sure I must have used different versions of the song or the like. My transcription skills are decent so I’m reasonably sure that’s the reason why.
Thank you! As a guitar player and someone who grew up in Jamaica, I'm having a blast picking up bass and learning these lines!
Happy to know this video has helped you out!

James at 2:27 when you pluck "A" at your E string there is some buzz the same at 2:44
