Much appreciated content! I'm trying to start Ulysses for the second time during this quarentine and I've stumbled on this chapter again 😬😅. Pretty challenging, but somehow I've managed to finish it! I think your channel is going to help me a lot! Thanks :))

I just found you through the Gravity's Rainbow video and I need to say that it is very nice to listen to you and I am glad you can do it and really explain things for others that want to challenge themselves with those wonderful books :D!

Adam, I'm having so much fun with your videos! This is my favourite episode up to now. Thank you very much. I loved the "filmed under the sea" joke! In a sense, you are doing something very similar to Joyce itself: you indicate something but you don't explain it right away. It was because of the Gilbert schema, right?

Uh... sure, sounds good! (I like to pretend I planned it all, but when you spend 18 months on something the plans change)

I saw your previous video about Gravity's Rainbow and then saw this now that I'm reading Ulysses. Are you a literature scholar/student? I just finished my Master's in Lit-- I don't really care to get my PhD, but now I finally have time to read the big books I've been wanting to like Brothers Karamazov, Ulysses, and Gravity's Rainbow. I'm thinking of working through the DeLillo and Pynchon bibliography next. Thank you for the quality content. Stuff like this is always a gold mine on RUclips! I love your taste and insight.
    Cheers

Thanks, Nathan! I have a B.A. in English, but I think most of my ideas about books come from wide reading rather than school itself. Maybe you'll do literature videos in the future...? Best of luck with the books and music!

@@AdamSavageland That's interesting. I've been enjoying reading a lot since I've finished school. I've never thought about being a lit-RUclipsr before but it sounds fun. I do believe multimodality is the future! I'd just have to find some intellectual niche in YT to fill. I'll probably watch the rest of your series-- I'm listening to the Ulysses audiobook and reading some analysis as I go along.

Don't let it slow you down! Skip it and return later because the next few chapters are easier.
