To control just one radiator with the Hive app, you'll need a Hive Hub (part of the Hive pack) and a Hive TRV on that radiator. If you don’t want to use TRVs on every radiator, you could move the main Hive thermostat to the room you want to heat, but this would heat all radiators until that room reaches the set temperature.
Thanks for this instructional video. I have a question: I have purchased two radiator Valves to add to my hive. I am uncertain which rooms I should put them in. I tried putting one in the Hall, but that is where the Mains Thermostat is and that was not a good idea, so would the living room (on the 1st floor) be a good location, and the other in a bedroom??
it's hard to say to be honest, only because you can look at it from two angles, you could put them in the main rooms you want to heat, encouraging you to maintain the temperature in the rooms you use, or you could also put them on the rooms you don't use so that you don't send heat to the rooms you don't use while others freely operate - I bought for each radiator to give full control which has helped with controlling bills I maintain the temp I want in the room(s) I use and close the others off. But I could see it working the other ay around too
The most simplest and straight to point installation explaination
You are a good teacher
Do more of this pls
Thanks for this video, just what I needed to know before I replace all of my valves with Hive ones!
Glad it helped
Did you happen to keep the other adaptor part? I have lost one of mine and could really do with it!!
So if I want to control just one radiator by this app, is the valve all I need? Do you need any other equipment from Hive or anything else?
