I moved into a flat with Hive thermostat but no hub. The thermostat has been losing time since we moved in and is now about 35 mins slow. Its also started disconnecting from the receiver every few months. Is it easy enough to buy a new thermostat and set up up without a hub? It suits us fine on standalone mode apart from these issues.
We are having issues with the hub next to the boiler always switching off. The hub was 15m away from the boiler and started dropping out now it’s 6 m and hooked up to a to link deco mesh system and all was good for the first week then it’s dropping out even though when I stand next to boiler I get 55 mbps. Give straight away blamed the to link and tried to sell me the plugs
We have 2 hive recievers and one of them switches on the hot water tank and master radiators. The reciver acknowledges when master radiator is set to go on, but the boiler itself doesnt kick start. If we put the hot water on or anything from other receiver (under floor heating), then master rads come on. But if nothing else comes on then boiler pilot light doesnt come on and we have no heating. I can see the receiver going green but boiiler doesnt respond. So strange. This started a year after we been connected and stopped around 6 months ago. Now becoming an issue as winter has kicked in. Any suggestions?
If this originally worked and nothing has changed on your system it sounds like an issue with the receiver and will need replacing. I would suggest contacting the installation company or Hive yourself
I have this problem where the date and time just resets every time I set it to the correct time and date so I can't do anything like adding it to a scheduled time,it worked before and I have changed the batteries and I don't have a smart hub,the thermostat can connect to the receiver with no problem but the time and date keeps resetting,as soon as you adjust the time and date the LCD screen goes black then when you push a button again it's reset . Do I need to reset the receiver or get a new thermostat? It works apart the time and date but defeats the purpose of having it on a scheduled time to heat up the house when I get home.
I’ve had continuous problems with Hive thermostat - keeps getting stuck on temperature. Worked fine for 6 months and then continued problems, changed batteries etc… I suggest people use alternative.
Ive had mine not even an hour and already experiencing connection issues, the app says the hot water is on when its not, my schedule getting overwritten after I save it, so many bugs. Avoid at all costs. I am sending mine back
Hi mate, I’ve taken over a house where the previous owner used and left their hive for us. After resetting to put on my app it seems to be having connection issues from the hub connected to the boiler and the thermostat is constantly showing “demo”. Any ideas to combat this. Cheers👍🏻
Hey does the app show anything about a demo mode, i've read up about a demo option before logging in. With Hive i'd definitely get in touch with them directly
@@tobyhoskins2366 please share. I was going to send it back. I have paid a high fee to electrician last night and the moment he left, I am facing this issue.
If you can't remove the unit off the wall it is more than likely a wired thermostat which shouldn't need batteries. If facing issues with power I'd recommend reaching. out to whomever installed the stat. If it isn't a wired thermostat it should just slide up off the wall to expose the batteries
It's worth bearing in mind that hive bulbs and hive active plugs assist the connectivity between other hive components when it comes to range.. This may not seem important at all if your hive set up is working well, however, if you decide to change out a hive bulb or plug for another brand you can suddenly have thermostat/receiver/hive hub connectivity issues and be wondering why....? 🤔
I recently changed Internet provider virgin to EE, I just plugged in the receiver to the new router. The app says it's all connected (I don't remember changing my wi-fi settings on the app Incase that's the issue). Now that it's colder I've noticed my Hive temperature is wrong, I have a grow thermometer in my daughter's room and it's much colder than the Hive. Any solutions ?
I had a problem with 2 previous Hives, having about 5 meters of range before it disconnects from the receiver.. 1 house was a bungalow aswell.. was a nightmare selling them the hive and it not working properly.. called technical and they said I need a booster.. even though the thermostat and receiver is less than 5 meters apart.
Can you explain the actual temp question. Once target is reached the heating will turn off to save gas. A modulating boiler will do this efficiently to save you money. It will then kick in again once the temperature drops. However most homes in the UK will have good insulation where this isn't very often. If you bought a more expensive Opentherm Thermostat (and your boiler was compatible) the thermostat could tell your boiler to be on constantly but these thermostats can be rather costly for little gain. If you notice your boiler turning off then back on often (multiple times an hour) I'd recommend investing in better insulation however if your boiler is kicking in a few times a day this will be saving a lot on gas than being constantly on.
I have everything working correctly but can't use app as my phone (android) or my wife (apple) can't connect/pair with thermostat, I tried everything, uninstalling /reinstalling/updates still can't connect.. pairing pairing and nothing happening.horible device if I'm honest
Hi my hive mini is connected to the thermostat I can switch it on off with thermostat but can’t do it on hive app as it’s saying offline can you help me please? X
@@iheat it's the full size thermostat. I've set them up in 3 houses now. I have found the setup process cumbersome and clunky. After hours of going through the steps repeatedly they eventually worked.
I don't understand what's the point of video clips when audio recordings would be enough, because in video you only see the mouth of someone talking, nothing of the subject of the clip is visualized - things and actions on them!
I do apologise for this, what issues are you facing? The fixes we covered in this video were just common issues that didn't really need visuals (changing batteries and holding the only button on the receiver). More deeper issues like wiring which may need visuals we can't advise customers to do themselves and only be a trained electrician. Would love to follow up this video with a more visual guide on any issues you are facing on your hive, thank you for the feedback and we will be sure to emulate this on the next one!
The hive trv valves are garbage. I am pretty smart and tech savvy. Does not work consistently. Heat on demand does not work. Tried it for two days and it did not work. Avoid Hive valves.

When you say app not working do you mean not connecting to your hive system or just in general? Keeps crashing etc or never loading

Losing my sh!t here. Is there a way I can just set the temp to my liking? I have no interest in target temp/actual temp.
