Such a great study. Thanks for going through the book of Luke. I think there is great confusion because many denominations celebrate Good Friday (and say that Jesus was crucified on Friday) and Maundy Thursday (as commemorating washing feet and the last supper) and songs and sayings that talk about the darkness of Friday but Sunday is on the way. Obviously, the timeline is wrong and there is lots of confusion among church people. Also, growing up I heard that gambling was wrong because they cast lots for the garments....but the disciples also cast lots to pick the apostle replacement. Thoughts?
They cast lots for the scapegoat in Leviticus 16, too. I doubt anyone who gambles does it with Jesus's garments in mind. It's basically the same question i was asked in my livestream - are Christians supposed to fast? Or statements that some think we shouldn't wear makeup or dye hair. Any blanket or sweeping statements about what we should or shouldn't do is legalism. Let everyone be convinced in their own mind that something is or isn't right. If you believe it's wrong, then for you it is. If you believe it's ok, then for you it is. Whatever you do, do in faith. Glad you liked the book of Luke!
