    Hey Sara, Pat Murray here (CTC founder and teacher)
    What a great video you've put together here - thank you! You are super smart!
    I thought I'd jump in and let you know that yes, we are aiming to have the worked solutions for each question or problem up and ready for the start of the next school year.
    And a big shout out to Carly - well done on those tricky mixed fraction conversions 👏👏👏

      Pat, thank you for the kind words and for chiming in! That’s SUCH great news about the solutions - I’m sure it’s a big undertaking to put together, but will make this great program even better 🙌🏻

      This is what I was hoping for! We love CTC math but there was one section where even I struggled with learning the concept (7th grade ratios) and having the solutions for the questions would have helped me figure it out sooner. That was the only criticism my VERY critical child had of the program but otherwise it has been his favorite to use.

    We signed up for CTC today. I needed something taken off my teacher plate. And I want to make sure there are no gaps in their learning. Hoping my kids will enjoy it!

      I hope they do too!! Hang in there through the learning curve, we found our groove after not too long and I really love it.

    Would you say CTC math would be good for first graders and second graders too?

    I love the instructors accent! I need some extra practice for my daughter. In your opinion could this be used as an add-on/extra practice type of program?

      Oh absolutely. It’s great for that since you have access to any and all lessons (and can create whatever practice worksheets you need). Definitely give the free trial a try and see what you think!

    Thanks for the explanation. I know that you have done singapore in the past. How does CTC compare to Singapore?

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Месяц назад

      They are both good but definitely very different!! I’m happy we used Singapore and I’m most likely using it for my little one when he’s ready. CTC is a good fit for my older kids and our homeschool right now. Many differences between the two though, that could probably be a whole other video 😂

    Thank you for the great video! I am new to CTC match and just recently signed my kids up. Do you know if there is a placement test for CTC math that will help me know where to start my kids at? We have been using a workbook math program, this is our first time doing online. Thanks!

      Thank you for watching!! What I did was started with diagnostic tests. I went to the grade level my kids recently completed, and had them start working through diagnostic tests for each topic. This helped me see if/where there were any gaps we needed to review, and when we got to a point where they had no clue what to do, that’s where we started our new lessons.
      I’m sure there are other ways to do it, but that’s what I did! Hope this helps!

    How do you figure out how many tasks they need to do each day?

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  2 месяца назад

      I think you really will get a feel for it and it will vary by kid…my kids can typically do two lessons a day, so that’s what I try to have them do. If it’s a tough lesson or they need extra work, they may just do one lesson a day (and then even spend extra time on it!).
      Everyone will be different, but for me, I tend to like structure and schedule 😂. So I will look at it and set a “loose” goal, such as, ‘I want to finish 7th grade lessons by this date’. And I’ll count up how many lessons that is, and divide it by how many days we have, which gives me a LOOSE idea of how many lessons we should complete to reach that goal. But I’m pretty flexible as we go, depending on what my kids need.
      The course scheduler can help you a lot with this if you want to use it! I have another video explaining this feature you can check out 😊
      Hope this helps! I know it’s different because you don’t get a daily lesson plan or anything like that, but the flexibility and customization is so nice with this curriculum.

      I think it could be! I personally haven’t used CTCMath with my kids when they were that age, so I can’t speak from experience…but if your child would do ok with the online format, it’s definitely worth a try.
