How have you videos not blown up yet? I really enjoy them! You do a great job at making it clear and I always feel really confident after learning from you. I always feel really satisfied after being able to see for myself but I don't think I'll be able to find alpha centauri in the near future
I came to visit my parents in the south hemisphere so it's great to see videos on the stars here! I definitely watched the southern cross one, nice to see also a video about the centauri stars :) Thanks as always for the great content!
These stars along with canopus are hard to see where I live.. And I have a special thing with Proxima Centauri since my childhood when I first got to know about it but sadly I think I'll never be able to see it.. Anyway, big thanx to you, hope your channel and videos never gets off the internet ❤️
hey i saw a lot of constellations yesterday including centaurus there was crux, draco, scorpious, leo, virgo, libra, ursa minor, ursa major, lyra and hercules
I live in the South hemisphere and I can clearly see Centaurus from my house every night. Alpha and Beta Centauri are my favorites star system. It brights out my nights.
@@HiR0SHi.the.D0G Thanks! So in this vid we're referring to Beta Centauri, which is NOT gravitationally bound to Alpha Centauri. Good, because that seemed like quite a long distance for it to be otherwise. Aloha!
nice video. realy want to know more about stars and exoplanets... I'm a fan of our universe..lol I love this video. I've learn a lot about this Alpha n Beta Centauri
Beta Centauri not to be confused with Alpha Centauri B!I use to live in the southern hemisphere so I know these two stars well.Alpha is near the Sun but Beta is pretty remote 500 light years springs to mind but I might be wrong? As for the south pole there is a star there called Sigma Octantis and under dark skies you can just see it naked eye, it's about as bright as Uranus.
yes, many of them are derived from Arabic, which I would consider the original names. But I was surprised at the variety of names for some stars. For example, the star Betelgeuse has all these name designations: Betelgeuse, α Ori, 58 Ori, HR 2061, BD+7°1055, HD 39801, FK5 224, HIP 27989, SAO 113271, GC 7451, CCDM J05552+0724, AAVSO 0549+07.
Questions: Proxima Centauri is only 4.2 light-years away from us. Could the recent giant flare sending out Plasma and a CME reach earth or our sun? Could this make our sun flare? Or did the Galactic Sheet cause Beatleguise and Proxima Centauri to flare? Could the Galactic Sheet make our sun flare next?

Very competent and clear briefings!

Delightful to see an in-depth view of the stars like this!
Thanks so much!
A great video. Cheers from Down Under Jeannine!
Yesterday I took a picture of Centaurus constellation… what a coincidence mam…nice video…😘😘😘
Great view from Fiji on all the southern hemisphere constellations.
Thank you. I love your enthusiasm too.

How are you seeing Ursa Minor and Crux in the same sky?
@@RideAcrossTheRiver It is possible that they are both on the horizon on opposite sides in the night sky in some places at Earth.
@@dax1el935 Yes, at latitude 15 N, I'd guess.
Love these videos, thanks for posting.
Very well presented!

Aloha! Nice Vid! Are Alpha and Beta bound gravitationally, or is this just a visual connection? Mahalo!

I’ve got one on exoplanets coming. Stay tuned!
Thanks for making
Thank you for point out Caldwell 80, an object that I can barely see at 32 degrees north latitude!
thanks very helpful

Mam very good information thank u. Mam which degree planisphere purchase mam I'm in India.
Hello...I would purchase a planisphere for 20-30 degree latitude north.
I'm very interested in the Arab continuation in astrology.
Aren't the alternative names not the original ones?

@@learnthesky oh, wow.
Thankyou! I'll look into names of other starts too.
muito interessante!
Alpha Centauri's name is *Rigil Kentaurus*, meaning the foot of the Centaur. Just Like Rigel from Orion.
Nice
Is the magnitude of Alpha Centauri visual magnitude or absolute magnitude? -2.7 is rather bright for a star.
Alpha Cen's visual mag is +0.01.
It s. good
I wish i could see alpha and beta centauri one night 😊😊
💕
Closest to Sun...yet so far away...space is bigggggggggggg😞
Alpha centauri has a trisolarian fleet on its way to invade earth
Now we need sigma centauri
too bad i never seen the closest star to our sun with the naked eye because i never been to the southern hemisphere of earth.

Stellar flares are caused by the star's own magnetic field.
