I just happen to stumble on your videos for the first time and came across this video. How wonderful that your family thought that much of you to send you your momma's violin which you played so beautifully, how wonderful it must be to have your mom's violin that she played, I play violin but not nearly as well as you do, one of my favorite songs to play is ON EAGLES WINGS, would love to hear you play that on her violin. I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos.
What a beautiful tribute! Thank you for sharing with us, very touching!
Thank you Sami. You are welcome! T
What wonderful gift! Good packing David!!! Sounds amazing Trevor!!! I remember your mom playing that a few times!
Shawn, yes, I bet you do remember this violin! Hardly left her side 😊. Thanks for your support! T
Beautiful! I’ve always loved the song “Be Thou My Vision.” My mother’s favorite song for us boys was “As the Deer.” God bless you!
Thank you, Hans! I've always loved "Be Thou My Vision" as well. Here is a rendition I did with my band (more Celtic) - ruclips.net/video/xg9Wycdx8QM/видео.html ... "As the Deer" is another classic. God bless you as well! T
10:00....WAILS ON THE VIOLIN!!! 10 Seconds later...."I'm just trying to think of what I can play"....lol. Beautifully played as always.
@Pastry21, thanks! Just a little improv to open up 😉. Sure is an honour to have this violin! T
That was beautiful Trevor. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Judy! Such an honour to have and a joy to play ... ❤️ T
Thanks for sharing Trevor. What a nice violin, one of a kind. It should be with someone who will play it and properly take care of it :).
It was a real privilege to take lessons with you.
Many thanks, Kurtis! A real honour. T
🥰YT directed me to your channel by way of your pedalboard video... I'm happy to find this lovely unboxing, listen to your anecdotes, and get treated to your beautiful playing. Happy to be a new subscriber! I hope you found comfort and healing while you created this video. My mom (a pianist) died in December 2018, and as much as our moms' belongings are "only stuff", being able to hold even a hardcopy of sheet music that my mom loved to play made grief hurt a little less. Peace... 💜👍🏽24
Thank you, Eileen. You understand ... my condolences for the deep loss of your mom. Thank you for going down the "rabbit hole" from my pedalboard tour to this video and being "a part" of my journey. ❤T
What a wonderful gift!
What about :
Bach's Violin sonata #2 Andante
Kreisler's Liebesleid
You raise me up
Yes, sure is, Hilde! Great requests as well. Thank you. T
That was awesome Trevor. A beautiful tribute for sure. How about sharing “Amazing Grace” on your moms violin? One of my favourites for sure. Blessing Trev xo Peter (& Heather)
Great suggestion, Peter! Will add this to my list. I do a version of "Amazing Grace" here on my electric violin: ruclips.net/video/tNf0RpXEm3g/видео.html
Hi! I played the violin as a child. Quit for no good reason except young and dumb. I grew up in a not so loving home I guess you could say. Long story short. But I am 36 and have been thinking of picking it back up. I'm not gonna be a famous concertist of anything like that but I just adore the sounds and playing. Any recommendations on starting over and relearning ? Especially since I'm older and my brain just isn't what it once was? Btw your an inspiration and the way u play is angelic! Literally. Thank you for all the teaching and your beautiful holy music! ❤️ 🎶 🎵
Thank you, Randal, for your kind words. It is NEVER too late to learn the violin. I have taught 80 year olds and they made steady progress. A great way to keep the mind sharp and bring more joy/fulfillment into your life. All the best! T
