When I was a kid I interpreted it as a warning against making relationships the centre of my life, and now that I’m an adult and I can see through all the euphemisms, I interpret it as a warning against making sex the centre of my life. When I was a kid I interpreted it as a warning against making relationships the centre of my life, and now that I’m an adult and I can see through all the euphemisms, I interpret it as a warning against making sex the centre of my life. I was a sheltered kid so I think a lot more kids could see through the euphemisms now, but I think it’s cool that the song writer was able to put out a child friendly message and an adult friendly message at the same time, and which message you take from it depends on how much life experience you have
