I did that at a grocery store deli for 5 years. Open, close, close, close, open, day off, open, open, close, open. I ended up developing insomnia from that and was awake for 33 hours one day. I swear i aged like 5 extra years. But now i work in the mail department at an insurance company, it's boring, i can watch RUclips and music while working, its nice, i also get insurance too and its 8-4 Monday through Friday. Unions are amazing and they are what gets us a more balanced life that is less about work and more about living life the way you want to do. GO UNIONS!!!

Working 9-5 in tech is the best. I'm not a technical person; I’m an implementation consultant, which pays well. The best part is that you can work independently, and it's entirely remote. Sometimes I can complete my work in about one or two hours. I enjoy my downtime very much as I can get a lot done in my day. However, I’ve been thinking about over- employment because why not. I work at the hospital now, but I have worked at retail and restaurant and I rather work where I’m working now than those two. Yeah, management could be better, but I do have great benefits and I have money to pay my bills or for whatever else I need. I work (some) weekends and holidays, but it’s split so everyone can have a holiday off. I rather be average than a celebrity any day because those folks get no privacy and can’t do what they want with their money.
I get your point that working a 9-5 job is boring but with the down time you have you can use it to create something for yourself. I think it all depends on the 9-5 job you have really because I had an office job before which became really stressful sitting at my desk all day. If this is the case, I would just work from home. I feel more comfortable working from home except now there is no one around I can chat to about anything so that’s a different problem.
It's not that nobody wants to work, or that nobody wants to experience stress, they just don't want to feel unfulfilled over putting the time and energy into productive output. I'm personally the biggest advocate for working smart, I believe it's the only substitute for hard work, but what we don't realize is that we can apply this strategy from outside the box
Hola! Regarding office jobs things are not the same in all the countries so it depends on many things when it comes to benefits. I have done many jobs in life from sales assistant to office employee and now cashier and more in a retail store. I resonate with the jobs in this area. I work shifts, paid per hour and it's 6 days a week 1 day to rest. Sometimes I can work more hours to cover someone day off. When I worked in the office it was better with stable hours but the environment was super toxic. The best is as you say to learn new skills in order to become freelancer and have time for your own. Although you are young it seems that you are also an old soul. Namaste beautiful soul ❤️Un abrazo 😊🇬🇷
do whatever you can do get any kind of full time gig. then build from there. learn a hirable new skill. and constantly work out. it's good for the mind.
i work in retail and its pretty physical at times. but id take it over sitting all day. just couldnt do it.. i like being physically active at work. also office jobs are just repetitive and boring
You are making valid points, but you forget people have many other jobs that are not in retail or restaurants and could pay well. Certain factory workers, truck drivers, people with actual skills such us plumbers, cops and many others.
Preach Brother. They higher ups sell on a dream of 10k online money myth. And getting a normal office job will set u up better working retail because u didnt want to go to college. You still need work hard for the fun with side hustles. The goal is remote passive income.
there are plenty of low pay crappy dead-end office jobs. you are really talking about boring office jobs at large companies or government office jobs. those generally pay well and are cushy.
The grass is always greener. Office jobs like he's talking about rarely exists anymore. The reality is working on salary, doing 2 people's jobs and putting in 12+ hours a day. You will barely have time to sleep and wipe your ass. Endless stress with unrealistic schedules while you're essentially on the clock 24/7 since you will get pinged during any time of the day.
Count your blessings working in a nice warm office. Go deal with Karen's at the supermarket, go work for M&S in Lime Street Station in brutal, ice cold temperatures. The walk-in fridge was warmer than the shop!
I am at risk of homelessness as a 26 y/o college student and I pray every day for a 9-5 job. I WISH I had to deal with a boring office job rather than working multiple jobs or gigs to make ends meet and struggle making $400 work for two weeks. I have no PTO and no health insurance. Just had an accident and now I’m $2300 in medical debt on top of student debt. It’s terrible. I cannot remember the last time I had weekends or holidays off. I have no money to hang with friends or go on vacation. I’ve been doing it for 10 years now.. Use my story as your motivation. Please be grateful because I would do anything to have some sort of financial stability
And then the 9-5ers that come into my retail or food service jobs make my life a living hell. I’m struggling just to survive day to day and you are all snuggled up with no worries of where your next meal will come from or if you can pay to keep your electricity on! Be nice and stay humble!
I hear what you're saying and dig your videos, but I think this mainly applies to government jobs and high paying tech jobs. A lot of 9-5s are basically 8-6 or expected unpaid overtime and a ton of companies arent even offering benefits these days. Even if they are, the salary is so low at 40-55k, you can't even afford to contribute to your 401k or IRA if you wanted. Add long commutes and toxic company culture and you're mentally drained by the time you get home the same as retail or labor, except your boss is also contacting you at all hours even when you're not there. That being said, if you're making 75k a year or more, with a good work environment and company culture, albeit boring, I largely agree with you that you're lucky.
I’d rather be in an office and have the option to do remote work then be in the trades. It sucks am a subcontractor so no pension, no paid leave and I could get let go of at any moment plus travelling around to different sites can be a pain especially if it London. Am going back to study something else as I have zero passion for my current job only did it as it was what I was told to do. Am thinking of going into Computing. If you can get a job with local or bigger government you’re sorted. Great pension and paid leave plus am stuck just being a tradesman I feel like everyone else I know is moving up the career ladder getting promoted and let say if I stayed in my current job all I could do it train to get gas qualified yeah more money but god it’s boring. And that would kinda be my cap on levelling up.
i disagree. i would never work an office job. id be miserable. sure im getting paid less than an office job but im happier of being up on my feet and im around people cause im an extrovert anyway. working remote would be so boring for me
Let’s face it, at least 90 - 95% of people are never going to own their own business. I used to work retail, it was shit. I had to leave. I’m going to use 2024 to get something better.
@@ceaselessroad9294 A lot of people keep saying stuff about how you run your own business bla bla bla. But they never tell you *how* easier said than done. That would be like me telling you to service and repair a car but if you don’t have the knowledge and expertise, how the fuck can you?
@@songoku9348 of course it’s easier said than done and I won’t figure it out until I have experience in my field and life figured out, just because you’ve thrown in the towel like most people doesn’t mean everyone else should
I like 9-5, if its remote I got tons of time to slack off as long as I meet or even exceed the quota without anyone watching me and still have time to study an online degree and go the the gym.
Office works is the worst. It's toxic beyond belief and very bad when a majority of the workers there are women. It's best to be a plumber, or a mecanics or something. You get paid and more respected then those leeeches you meet in ANY office work position.
I don't know about other countries, but the typical 9-5 here in the US is a prison. First off, the traffic is gridlocked, going to work and getting out. Second, all the normies go to the same places after five. That's why you see Walmart, Restaurants, and Supermarkets filled with people. Third, because most doctors and dental offices are closed on weekends and don't work evening hours, you pretty much need to use personal time to get a checkup or to have a cleaning done (unless their office is within walking distance from your work where you could go on your lunch break.) The same goes if you're having work done on your car or maintenance on your home (oil burner, generator, etc.). Since COVID my local dealership's service department has been closed on weekends, no oil change, or tire rotation. So I either need to drop it off and burden someone else to pick me up and drop me off, or I need to burn a day to get my vehicle serviced. It's stupid. I can't speak for remote work, as I've never had a remote job. I have seen remote job postings that required applicants to live in the same state as where the company does business.
This is why I quit my tech sales job and am now working for a cellphone company. It’s not 9-5, but I have some weekdays off and weekends every other week, so I don’t need to sacrifice my pto or vacation days. I’d like a remote job again sometimes though 😂
Do you know how few RUclipsrs/streamers/influencers actually make enough money to sustain themselves through ads, sponsorships, donors, and merch? Assuming you can support yourself in the process and have no other obligation it can take years to build that audience, and in a lot of cases people still don’t make it.
If you want to have a white color job, then work in defence industry. At least you will work for your country rather than making some random boss rich.

Exactly so true brother ❤️❤️
I feel like office jobs is better than physical labor in my opinion. I used to work in a restaurant, and the physical toll on the body worse.
I work in a fine dining kitchen. Seems like my body is in constant pain...but we keep going. Def don't see myself retiring this way.
i work in retail and its pretty physical at times. but id take it over sitting all day. just couldnt do it.. i like being physically active at work. also office jobs are just repetitive and boring
I agree 100 percent
there are plenty of low pay crappy dead-end office jobs. you are really talking about boring office jobs at large companies or government office jobs. those generally pay well and are cushy.
Sometimes you gotta hear this to humble yourself.
True my bf is an architect and damn he works non stop
Yap! Sedentary lifestyle, secretary spread.
be grateful youngin
Might makes right. Stay strong lad.
Bravo, sir!
Are you a plumber?
i disagree. i would never work an office job. id be miserable. sure im getting paid less than an office job but im happier of being up on my feet and im around people cause im an extrovert anyway. working remote would be so boring for me
Office job might not the best when you are older and have kids. You have to relocate when the company tells you to move to another city....
This is why we need a UBI
Let’s face it, at least 90 - 95% of people are never going to own their own business. I used to work retail, it was shit. I had to leave. I’m going to use 2024 to get something better.
yeah but I would literally rather kill myself than live as an employee for someone else for my entire life, not even exaggerating
@@ceaselessroad9294 A lot of people keep saying stuff about how you run your own business bla bla bla. But they never tell you *how* easier said than done. That would be like me telling you to service and repair a car but if you don’t have the knowledge and expertise, how the fuck can you?
@@songoku9348 of course it’s easier said than done and I won’t figure it out until I have experience in my field and life figured out, just because you’ve thrown in the towel like most people doesn’t mean everyone else should
I just want to live life.
welp congrats bro you're a youtuber now, you don't got to worried about that 9-5 anymore.
How do I get a office job?
Bro spittin facts
A 9 to 5 doesn’t have to be a strict office job. It could be something else. You don’t need to be bound to a cubicle
I like 9-5, if its remote I got tons of time to slack off as long as I meet or even exceed the quota without anyone watching me and still have time to study an online degree and go the the gym.
Real shit now that’s what I want to hear soldier
9-5 is better than restaurant n retail…..that’s all u need to know
Think about Adel, she works 6 months, and rest 7 years, make the business that offers you freedom.
How much money do you think is enough to retire?
makes me wonder why we here if we just slaving away so the business owner and higher ups can live luxury.
Boring office job. 💯💯
I love 9-5 job it keep me going in life not being too comfortable
yea, I like boring
it's peaceful😊
Office works is the worst. It's toxic beyond belief and very bad when a majority of the workers there are women. It's best to be a plumber, or a mecanics or something. You get paid and more respected then those leeeches you meet in ANY office work position.
Move to Nicaragua it’s super nice and cheap
9 to 5 save lives
An alternative is becoming a digital nomad + a youtuber if you have the time.
youtube can take years to take off, not to mention making it profitable
Do you know how few RUclipsrs/streamers/influencers actually make enough money to sustain themselves through ads, sponsorships, donors, and merch? Assuming you can support yourself in the process and have no other obligation it can take years to build that audience, and in a lot of cases people still don’t make it.
Bad terrible advice.
what are you staring at
Working 9-5 retail is trash.
hey, what office job?
Go to indeed or other similar websites.
a office job is like a job where you sit in a cubicle or remote and you do meetings and projects

If you want to have a white color job, then work in defence industry. At least you will work for your country rather than making some random boss rich.

Wow you sound like Zuko from Avatar the last air bender 😮
Zuko's voice is a bit higher pitched and raspier. Also, the guy who voiced Zuko was in his early thirties at the time the show was being made
Life sucks bro...
