    Hello and thanks for the video. I'm Fred from Studio Tomahawk. I just wanted to come back to the morale markers to explain that you only have one marker on the table, when your morale changes you replace the marker with a new one, you don't keep the old one. I hope you'll be able to try it out soon and that you like it. Enjoy the game.

      Hi Fred. Thanks for clarifying that. That does reduce the clutter.

      Fred, long time Battlegroup player here and was looking for an alternative for smaller level platoon stuff. Looking forward to trying V for Victory to see if that scratches the itch. Is there somewhere where discussion about future roadmap and rules questions exist? hopefully thats not facebook?

      Hello Fred. Any chance of a reprint of Congo? It's a Fantastic game.

      @@paulspaintshed3511Hello, thank you. Yes, we love Congo, but there are no plans for that at the moment. Take comfort in V.

    Just wanted to drop a note to say that I found this incredibly helpful. I read through the rulebook once but wanted to watch a flip through before I played by first game this weekend. Your video helped cement some of the fundamentals I had read. Great work, you earned a subscriber!

    As with other comments - you have earned a subscriber and this reminds me most of Congo. I'll certainly be purchasing these rules after watching this. I really like your approach as you are assertive when you should be so, e.g. no-one is going to call this Five for Victory (where did that daft and illiterate notion come from? - I suspect social media has a lot to do with it), and conciliatory when it it was right to be so, e.g everyone is going to have their own interpretation of what a WW2 fight was like and these rules may or may not fit that interpretation. Thank you and I look forward to further videos.

      Thanks. There's going to be a mix of hobby videos, painting videos and rules coverage coming. So hopefully something for everyone.

      Ralph, I am a big fan Congo, too, and have enjoyed and learned from your videos of that game. So as I have 5 4 V and read 20 pages and I wondered if it was still in French as I did not understand hardly anything. I knew the words but not what was meant when the were put together. A pure work of frustration. I will look forward to your video of how to play:)

      The 5 for victory comes from the target number required to pass a test. So it's quite a clever play on the phrase. However, I think most of us will call it V for victory.

    • @RalphAstley
      @RalphAstley 2 месяца назад

      @@paulspaintshed3511 Well we spent long enough transmitting the letter V in Morse code to the French for them to recognise its significance. I don't buy the test pass mark interpretation as passing a test does not relate to winning a victory. Sounds more to me that someone is trying to conceal a gaff.

    Thank you for putting this together. I pre-ordered V for Victory thinking I have loads of Bolt Action models and have enjoyed Studio Tomahawk games in the past so it’s worth a sight unseen purchase. Nice to see what I’m getting into now.

    nice review, just picked up the game. I believe you only need one stress marker showing there present position, so not as much clutter.

    Great review, mate. Ticking some boxes for me already seems to be based on some of the Congo mechanics, which is great. I am also a big fan of dice pools with a sliding scale of dice types. The understrength platoon build is a nice touch. Need to see a battle report or 2 before i pull the trigger.

      Thanks! Congo is the only set of Studio Tomahawk rules that I don't have so I wasn't sure how similar it was.

    Secondly, I am a longtime player of WWII miniatures. Tried Bolt Action felt it too gamey, tried Chain of Command and hated the dice mechanic. I moved on to Battlegroup which my players absolutely loves. Battlegroup really shines at company level and higher and I find it not as great at platoon level hence my interest in V for Victory. I really hope studio Tomahawk expands this with more detailed nation lists. Their site is a little lacking in information about future expansion plans or discussions. I dont do facebook, maybe thats where that stuff is.

      Battlegroup is my all time favourite set of rules. So that's a fantastic choice.

    Is one card deck enough for 2 people, or does each player need their own deck?

      Yes 1 deck contains the cards for both sides.

    What factions are aviable in rulebook?

    • @MiniatureOdyssey
      @MiniatureOdyssey  2 месяца назад

      The Nations listed are the US, UK, USSR and Germany. You can field regular infantry platoons, mechanised/armoured platoons and airborne. Also there is commandos for the Brits.
